The Poplin Shirt

for me this is just leaning on the feminine side. it is sweet and floral with the orange giving a acidic edge to the composition so i can see why others make the association with hairspray etc. personally i think it has sunscreen/ luxury soap vibe. i cant say what it is a clone of but it is definitely different than anything that they have released in the past. worth a sniff fr. performance is about 4-6hours with a moderate sillage for the first hour ovr 7.5/10

Wow, this IS reminiscent of Aqua Universalis! I sprayed three times and that was a mistake, this stuff is strong. Has that somewhat sun(screen) vibe, could lean feminine. Great stuff, definitely a completely different scent profile than many ZARA offerings.

This one scared me a little at first because it’s marketed to men. The bottle/packaging is undeniably masculine. I trusted the votes here showing that it’s overall unisex. That’s accurate but actually I think this leans slightly more feminine. I have never smelled Aqua Universalis so I can’t speak on the resemblance. What I can say is that this lives up to its name precisely. Zara successfully recreated the smell of when a hot iron hits newly laundered clothing. This isn’t merely detergent or a dryer sheet fragrance. Something in this elevates the starchiness while protecting citric coziness and a metallic steely bite. The notes are so simple but this ends up smelling more luxurious than I initially anticipated it would. The quality is there with longevity being decent particularly for a freshie which is my favorite category but is usually lacking in performance. I can still smell this on me after 5 hours. Anyway... Is Poplin groundbreaking? No. It feels like it was deliberately designed to have mass appeal effect. This has the Clean Girl aesthetic written all over it. If you enjoy the fresh laundry/shower vibe of fragrances, you will appreciate this.

I found this difficult to wear since I purchased it. The Poplin Shirt does come across feminine to me. I was trying to come up with a way to tone it down, but I found a was to balance it out. Mont Blanc Starwarker was the key. Layering this fragrance with musk and mandarin notes helped balance out the Feminine/ masculine. The Poplin Shirt is a beast. I could smell it all day with only four sprays. I will try this combo again in the summer heat. I'm feeling much better about this fragrance.

Not a fan of this. Does not smell like a perfume or a cologne, rather it smells like hairspray or some other random household product. Spray starch maybe? Not sure what ZARA was going for here. Definitely unisex if not straight feminine. It does have a passing resemblance to MFK's Aqua Universalis and ADP's Mirto di Panarea. (myrtle) but it is missing the verve and punch that could make it stand out. Also reminds me of GFF by Gianfranco Ferre

I do not like it very much, only my opinion! I find it very feminine and sweet! Really not my kind of smell but my wife likes it a lot, so it.s a match!

I have had this for about five months now and still can't decide whether I like it or not. It really does have noticeably laundry softenery vibe. It's ozonic, citrusy, floral maybe almost aldehydic too? It's pretty strong in the beginning but doesn't last extremely long. Especially the opening blast projects very strongly but then it settles down to what you would expect from a fresh fragrance. People here say it is pretty unisex and I agree. It has a certain similarity to cK One for reference. It's not a clone of it, just kind of similar. Again, I can't decide if I like it, it is kind of weird scent but has something alluring about it that makes me come back to smell the bottle. I almost never wear it though so that's the result I guess.

Very nice clean citrus floral. It does have Aqua Universalis vibes. On skin the magnolia pops with a musky clean soap vibes with a watery green feel underlying. Comes off like dew on the stem and leaves. on clothes it's more crisp clean fresh starched white Poplin shirt. The scent is definitely a steal at this price point. Might have to stock up before Zara discontinues it.

A nice EDT with a fresh, clean, soapy aura. I don't think it leans feminine at all. It's flowery but with a musky vibe which keeps it grounded and sober. Besides the notes listed I can also smell a lot of star anise, or is it the cashmeran?

Smells just like aqua universalis but it has this scratchy solar note that I’m getting. I’m still deciding on whether I want to pull the trigger on aqua universalis when I already have this l.

Thenoseknows85 has absolutely nailed this with their review. I also think it is very similar to ADP Mirto di Panarea. Great value and good longevity too.

Can anybody confirm this is close to Aqua Universalis? I think it is, but my Kurkdjian sample is long gone.
