TOB/01 Tabac & Jazz

This punches WAY above its weight. I almost feel bad that I paid only 7.5 euros for 100ml of this, this should cost 10 times more. I'm serious when I say that if this got released under a different famous brand name, for 100euros, people would say it's great. As for the "Jazz Club clone" thing, I only tried Jazz Club on paper so I can't tell. I'll try Jazz Club on skin tomorrow and will edit this comment. Anyway, for 7.5 euros, this and Tob 03 feel completely insane.

This is a masterpiece, as are all of the fragrances from the tobacco line. Smells like pdm Harod, with less cinnamon, heavy airy rum, and big orange blossom gives almost an bubble gum sweetness to it. It's more unisex than Harod and to my nose is a cross between Harod and Joop homme (70/30), which I love both equally and both are 10/10. This is freaking s*x in a bottle.

Exactly how I imagine a late night smoky jazz club would smell in a happening part of town. Smooth, well blended, slightly boozy, woody and I’m loving it! Definitely worth getting this. The projection and sillage are okay as well.

Reminds me a lot to Liquor BPM by Orchestre Parfums in the opening, however TOB/01 lacks the BPM richness. For the price i think this is a nice perfume.

i pick up a comfortable vanilla scent, it just relaxes me.

An Ode To Retro Cotton Club Arguably the most recognisable trumpeter on the planet today, Chris Botti is an international star in the world of pop and an award-winning artist and composer. He left Indiana University during his senior year for brief tours with Frank Sinatra and Buddy Rich. In 1985, he moved to New York to hone his craft as a studio musician. In the 1990s Botti recorded and performed with artists such as Aretha Franklin, Natalie Cole, Bette Midler, Joni Mitchell, Natalie Merchant, Scritti Politti, Roger Daltrey and the Brecker Brothers, as well as an extraordinary decade-long touring and recording relationship with the legendary Paul Simon. I love this guy and own a bunch of solo albums. I discovered him during one of my business trips, and I would very much like to attend a live show by him, perhaps in one of the historic venues in Manhattan, where you can still breathe that atmosphere full of hints of smoke, alcohol, and leather. TOB/01 Tabac & Jazz is primarily a tobacco, rum, and vanilla fragrance that kicks off with a sweet and spicy blast. The sweetness comes from the fruits, the citruses, and the blossom. Instead, the spiciness is that of the pink peppercorn, not mentioned, but detectable. Very fleeting top notes of bergamot and orange blossom are present on the nose upon spritzing. This is sweeter, though, but not sugary or bubble gum sweet. Tangy and piquant pink pepper dominates the opening, but artfully and subtly—not to the extent where it almost makes you sneeze. The spicy pink pepper and the citrus peel create a pleasant aromatic and irresistible blend. Immediately following, the heart notes contain the sweet spicy nuances of an alcoholic rum accord; this prevails over its companions osmanthus and sandalwood, both barely detectable. From the osmanthus, I receive a powdery veil, while the sandalwood offers creamy overtones. These drunken notes are deep, heavy notes that hit you so intensely that some of you might even find them overwhelming. Little by little, the fragrance becomes darker, denser, spicy, sweet, leathery, smoky, and resinous touches appear. Up close, I can smell something bitter and viscous in the background. Ultimately, the tobacco and vanilla blend gradually replaces the massive alcoholic wash of rum I got in the opening. TOB/01 base notes compile of a smoky tobacco accord, a heavy dose of vanillin, and a smidgen of cedarwood. The scent dries down with the olfactory sensations of smouldering cigars, damp wooden floors, and overtly sweet but profoundly earthy Bourbon vanilla beans. I cannot leave it unsaid that, during the dry down, it becomes noticeably cosier and warmer. You will appreciate this fragrance if you are looking for a rummy, tobacco-ish scent that’s potent and seductive, yet cosy and comforting. Those masculine top notes settle down into a very sweet, semi-dirty, smoky vanilla, not overtly feminine, that on me lingers close to my skin for many hours. It is best worn at nighttime in fall and winter. With moderate longevity, the scent stays with me for half a day, or night, and has a good projection for the first hour, then becomes more intimate. The sweet, woody notes are well-balanced, and the smokiness in the background adds a delicate touch. It has the Brooklyn Jazz Cotton Club vibes, with the massive boozy wash of rum in the opening, gradually replaced by tobacco and vanilla for the drydown. I could be wrong, but this aroma seems familiar to me, and I have the impression that I have already smelled it among the previous ZARA releases. I'm writing my impressions on a bottle I've owned since October 2023 (BC 32680).

It’s a sweet, classy smell. Perfect for autumn and winter. I like it, and I find myself wanting to wear it from time to time. I think it’s definitely safe enough for the work day, as well. Compared to other fragrances that come in these kinds of bottles from Zara, the projection and lasting power of this one is pretty weak.

Haven't tried Jazz Club so cannot compare. But I can imagine this is a much fresher and lighter take on the OG. Jazz Club with Ultramale sprinkled on top? Very enjoyable, versatile and good longevity on my skin.

Very curious to hear some comments on this one. I'm itching to pull the trigger on this one.

I personally think it has a tad bit of similarities with Jazz Club it being : the smell of tabacco and rum smell. But a lot sweeter than Jazz Club , too sweet for my personal taste and almost too woody. Jazz Club is more gentle and warm, where TOB/01 Tabac n Jazz is like a a punch to the face because of the sweetness. Overall I think it's not for me but maybe after a couple of sprays I might get used to it. Still wouldn't recommend to blind buy this.

This has "some" similarities with Jazz Club, but very minimal I would say. This is a very sweet, fruity, vanilla woody and boozy fragrance - the tobacco is almost nonexistent. Not a bad release but absolutely not an exact clone of Jazz Club by Margiela.

I've had my bottle for a few months now, and it doesn't smell anything like it did when I first got it. The pear is gone, the rum is gone. Currently it has a dry dusty feel in the nose, not dissimilar to cinnamon. I'd pass on this if i could go back, as what I have now is an entirely different scent, flat and uninteresting.

Weak and meek poor man's Jazz Club if you stretch your imagination to the far reaches of the galaxy. The tobacco here is just a hint for the tamest of folks.

Zara is now selling a duo of this one with TAB/03 for 25€, so I got them today; they have been bottled 17 days ago... :-) First Impressions: Nice, very nice even. The opening is very alcoholic, but that might be because it's newly bottled, it needs to macerate a while , like all Zara perfumes . It's a lovely fresh opening, with pear and bergamot taking the reins. Can't really detect sandalwood just yet , nor cedarwood, they might come out late on. The tobacco comes through quite fast, albeit very soft mixed in with the softness of the osmanthus, it gives it a sweet/ flowery vibe, must also be the orangeflower that chimes in to create this flowery soft scent . Looking forward to the drydown...

This fragrence is just a steal for the pricepoint that it's at, the dry down on this is "heaven" according to my girlfriend. I did a blind buy for this fragrence and dont regret it one bit, YES it is sweet, but the notes of the pear and the blossom still shine through some of that, It's not a heavy smelling fragrence.. which is a bit sad consideriong it's a winter one. I'd reccomend this for anybody 10/10 times, a blind buy is justified.

Smelled it without looking at the name. I knew i had it in my collection but couldn't put my finger on it. Then it hit me. From the small spray i used i found it quite close.

to me it smelled very sharp, strong rum note but very comforting. smelled exactly how dads used to smell when i was a child.

smells like piss imo. Like that acid smell ion know. Might be that type of tobacco

The smell is very good. Its longevity is a maximum of 1 hour.
