Tobacco Sublime

Beautiful has form, order, and measure, while the Sublime has no form, is disorder, excess, isolates and makes it sensitive to the ego. The “genius” represented its originality through the majesty of nature, the mystery of the night, and dreams equal to nightmares. How much of sublime is within Tobacco Sublime? Jordi Fernández is a niche senior perfumer, passionate about oriental and natural fragrances. He often includes notes of oud and intense perfumes in his creations. He is Tobacco Sublime’s nose, which appears exceptionally understated, light, and gentle. Tobacco Sublime is an ambery-woody prominent scent that smells warm, a kind of powder from the iris root, not too heavy. It is sublime, unquestionably. Among the four items in the same collection, this is subdued. It smells amicable; I am not getting a distinct and robust tobacco but a more refined amber and vanilla blend. It has nothing in common with the previous #Tobacco Collection. However, this is the one I appreciated and rated the most when testing the collection for the first time. The scent rises with a smidgen of zestiness, not overly citrus. Around the zest is a spicy touch of pepper and an aromatic nuance courtesy of a semisweet sage. In the background, I smell the powderiness of the iris’ roots and the sweetness of the tobacco leaves. The savoury and spicy facets last for a little while before the scent takes a twist. After a while, Tobacco Sublime grows and acquires more sweetness and powderiness. The dirt of patchouli blends with the tenderness of the iris, and the result is sublime, so refined and classy. It is heavier on the orris and not too deep into the patchouli. This magical achievement inspired its name, and the blend reaches its maximum refinement in the heart. Don’t expect a lipstick iris; there are no traces of makeup here. When drying comes, the perfume sets into a refined combination of vanilla and amber wood. There is still a trace of tobacco, but the amber and powdery aspect is more perceptible. It’s a leather scent, not too diffusive but pleasant, with an amplified sensuality if you smell it up close. For my tastes, I would have liked a more consistent presence of tobacco, which appears honeyed and not smoky at all. But I love it when it shows up, not too cherry-like pipe tobacco. Tobacco Sublime is an inoffensive perfume ideal for the office, a gallant meeting, or an intimate dinner. Both projection and duration are moderate, making it suitable for evening events while needing reapplication if used during the day. Seasonally, it fits perfectly into the fall months. Its warmth is matched by the humid, cool air of late September and October. I gave it an 8.5, and it deserves it. The result is extraordinary despite the limited performance. I'm thinking about a bottle I've owned since August 2023.

I was at zara when the staff was putting the entire new collection out on the shelves I couldn't believe it and as happy as I was to see the new collection as annoyed I was as I haven't finished buying the newly released weekly collection monday-friday collection! Anyway I went on and tried tobacco sublime and the vetiver one which I don't remember the full name of it, this one however is amazing to say the least full on strong semi sweet tobacco strong tobacco amazing thick stuff I didn't buy but am gonna for sure, it very masculine, long lasting and somewhat classic in a good way, as I left the shop the smell developed on my hands and gotten stronger and stronger which was amazing, I kept sniffing my hand all the way home, I got home and washed my hands and the smell was still there! This fragrance however reminded me of another perfume but I couldn't put my finger on I need to look into my collection as it holds a very strong resemblance to another tobacco scent I have but no it not DG the one, it could be Philip plain This got nothing to do with the one suggested in the reminds me of section by lattafa, please stop trolling!

This is an absolute hidden 💎! It is a stretch to say this smells like Prada Luna Rossa Black. Black is a peppery, amber musk smell with strong projection. It has none of the freshness, camphorous woody notes or light vanilla sweetness that is in Tobacco Sublime. I would say TS is more similar to Gypsy Water than Prada Black. Essentially a lighter, more masculine version of Gypsy Water. Tobacco Sublime wears like a masculine, light tobacco skin scent. It has a very bright and airy opening, after about a minute the subtle tobacco nuances emerge along with amber/vanilla. This is a versatile scent that is nearly Impossible to overspray. Love this one! 9/10

I love this! Sweet and woody, vanilla takes centre stage on my skin and it's so good in colder weather. I took it with me on a trip away recently, and the weather was pretty cold, and this was lovely for going out at night. That said, this could just as easily be worn during the day if it's cold out. It's not a very loud scent, but it's noticeable for a few hours. I think this smells similar to Dior Homme Intense, but it's brighter and cleaner than Dior Homme Intense. And, for 50 AUD, I would buy this again and again.

@seversky they must be because I have been reading a lot of comments about how the sweetness in this fragrance is almost overwhelming. Well, I have the white label version and the sweetness in it is subtle. I love that about this fragrance. And, I get from some people that they think that the other notes in this overwhelm the tobacco, but for me the tobacco is the star of the show. It's a hay dry-like tobacco to my nose, and it is what I smell the most...

This is my most complimented scent I have. The tobacco and vanilla mix is great, not too much tobacco but very subtly creeps in to mesh with the vanilla. Being broke as fuck, this was money to me. I had someone test out fragrances with me on all of the Zara perfumes on the shelf and this came on top. I wore it to class, family events and just meeting up with friends and they all really liked it! Definitely give this a go if you're on a budget

Notes on the package : Bergamot, Sage, Pepper, Iris, Patchouli, Vanilla, Amber, Tobacco This is divine , there’s s a freshness in the beginning that’s so delicious that I can’t stop smelling my wrist. It’s very comforting too . The longer I have it on my skin, the better I like it! Go and get yourself this one people , you won’t regret it ! Oh, and it lasts quite a while with a delectable dry down .

I sprayed Zara tobacco rich warm addictive and then Zar tobacco sublime. I had liked the tobacco rich warm first, but wasn't fully satisfied. I just happen to carry them home. I smelled after 5-6 hours and I have to say, Zar tobacco sublime has one of the nicest, distinct base notes. Strongly amberwood but also gentle. I was super impressed with it, I just had to go and get one for myself.

I love this one so much. The sweetness is somewhere in between tobacco and vanilla and mostly in the opening. The dry down is less sweet and more woody. Update: This is still one of my favorites but the longer i sit with it the less refined it feels. I am hoping they do an intense version like they have just released for sunrise on the red sand dunes and sand desert at sunset.

Just got a sample of Prada Luna Rossa Black, I can see the comparisons but this is way less sweet and more woody. For my taste, this is far better. I have also made comparisons between Tobacco Sublime and Bentley for Men Intense, It is not really boozy so it makes it more wearable.

This is the only fragrance worth buying from this new collection. At least for me. Tobacco Sublime is not a bombastic fragrance, don't expect anything like Tobacco Vanilie or Spicebomb Extreme. Nice spicy and mellow vanilla, perfect for night, even now in the summer.

This is a nice fragrance - it’s super light the Tabacco-pepper-woody isn’t over powering at all. Makes it easily wearable just the longevity doesn’t last a long time.

When I first sprayed it I hated it, but literally give it 2 minutes because it changes drastically to a beautiful vanilla, tobacco, iris fragrance. Well done Zara

I have both Luna Rossa Black and this. Similar but not exactly the same. This has added boozy tobacco on top of the powdery DNA of LRB.

It has a very manly sweetness about it, soft and pleasant, I agree with @brylski with the middle point between tobacco and vanilla.

Is it just me or the newer batches of this (2024) are sweeter and more potent than the earlier ones with white label?

Smells amazing but lasts for two seconds

Tobacco Sublime is the one I liked the best of the entire new series, a spicy sweet woody tobacco fragrance, not unique or original (I swear I have something in my collection that smells exactly like this, just can't put my finger on it right now), but thankfully it is not another cherry pipe tobacco or tonka-tobacco concoction which are a dime a dozen these days. It is also the most masculine leaning of the bunch, but still unisex. Performance is moderate and TS is definitely an office-friendly fragrance, since the tobacco note is soft and fuzzy. IMO there are better options if you have $30 to spare, but if it goes on sale below $20 I might grab a bottle. P.S. I have Lattafa Opulent Oud and to me they smell nothing alike.

Yep nothing like LRB, I'm a bit disappointed by that, but I can't say you all didn't tell me. I do get honey, vanilla and a bit of tobacco. I'm not gonna compare this to anything, it smells familiar it's certainly a dupe of a designer fragrance but it's likely something I don't own but have sampled at one point. It is pretty good though.

I have the white label version of this and imo it's the best zara fragrance. Very good and strong tobacco note that is just bellissimo if you like that. Maybe the newer version is different, idk, but if not I recommend this as a great beginner tobacco fragrance. Inoffensive and perfect for a fall day. Has gotten compliments. Me gusta

A good men's perfume, but despite the name, I can hardly detect tobacco in it, at least in my opinion. The vanilla is too sweet and intrusive and overpowers everything else. It is very reminiscent of the smell of cream-filled croissants. Quite light and unobtrusive, it won't make anyone suffocate, you can be sure of that.

You're better off getting a dupe from an Arab house at this point. Zara can't really justify the price hikes when their frageances are 50% ISO. This smells nothing like DHI. Nothing. And the comparison to Insurrection is laughable. That fragrance is light-years better than this one. Skip this one and save your money.

Don't let the word tobacco in this one scare you off. If anything, the very slight tobacco in the opening is a fresh bergamot/tobacco/pepper/iris combo. Dry down is amber/woody/soft spicy with a hint of vanilla sweetness. Well blended and worth the price. Should work really well as an office scent.

wtf are these "Reminds of"? Most of you have never smelled Clive Christian Amberwood and it shows, this is a blatan 1:1 clone attempt.

Solid Iris cheapie. Sadly when it dryes it goes more amberwood/vanilla. Would love it to stay as it is the first 15 mins

Not a review, just a question. How close does this smell to Prada black?

This is nice and a safe blind buy as it's not loud or a projection monster. It reminds me of Azzaro Most Wanted EDP smell wise. The tobacco is smooth and blended well with the vanilla/amber, and the pepper and sage appear if you look for them. I can't in all honesty make out the iris or patchouli, but that doesn't mean they aren't there. This is a well blended fragrance so I would put it down to that! It's fresher than you would imagine for the notes, but still has a warm, sweet thing going on. Very pleasant overall and worth the price (£23). Nothing mind-blowing though.

I don't know if this needs to macerate more but i've noticed the fragrance change a bit since i bought it. Still wont use it outside as it's still pretty bad but i'm starting to get more and more vanilla. the problem with this fragrance is the intensity of the amberwood. it's essencially ambroxan on steroids with a dose of iso e super. when it dries you get a nice dose of vanilla with some patchouli. Hope maceration tones down the amberwoods and brings out the vanilla cause this seems like it could have potential.

I see no tobacco, no iris here. It's just a sweet vanilla scent. At first, I found it leans a bit feminine. Later on, there's something reminds me of Salvatore Ferragamo Uomo. Performance is average. But it's good for the price. Good for an intimate night out. It also works in the office as it's very soft and inoffensive 😁

Good release from Zara. Woody, powdery vanilla scent with some hints of iris in the back, the tobacco is very light, almost nonexistent. Decently priced for what you get. Is this unique : no. Does this smell like Prada Luna Rossa Black : not really.

I dont espiesially enjoy this but other people seem to do especially one of my friends who thinks this is tobacco vannile who gives me compliments every day i wear this.

Really liked the opening and the heart of this fragrance. However, the drydown quickly becomes a very generic and powerful ambroxan with no traces of the previous notes. I'm really starting to dislike ambroxan and the way it takes over almost any fragrance

you have to spray 20+ sprays to make it somewhat noticable.. but even then, it's realy weak.. I like the vanilla and tabaco, earthy notes but it's performance really reflect the price tag, you get what you pay for.

This is a terrible fragrance, please do the world a favor and don't buy this peace of cr.. This is synthetic beyond belief, The parfume guy on YT rated it as the best of the collection. That's when I unsubscribed, clearly the man is insane. Why pay 20 eur when you can go to your city garbage dump and just walk trough the burning garbage fumes. This smell like straight up burning plastic garbage. I went to the bathroom 3 times at the office just to scub this shii. My coworkers probably trough I was doing blow. 0/10 wouldn't even spray my bathroom with it, my poo deserves better. If you want to buy a zara try Sunrise of the red sand dunes, or For Him Intense. For anyone wondering I can wear the heaviest leather and the most anemalic fragrances, this is not challenging, it's just very very very bad.

Its really not bad in the begining...BUT after its dry down..a synthetic nauseating smell comes up from the base and you will smell only that. A BIG pass for me.

The fragrance opens a little aromatic and spicy. The tobacco note appears first as spicy and masculine (there is nothing boozy like in Rich Warm Addictive), and then transforms in to a lightly honeyed, dry tobacco. The honey facet presents as sweet, but also slightly acidic/animalic to my nose, which gives the fragrance a sort of romantic and warm aura that resonates until drydown. I really like this part, it is what sold the fragrance to me. Mid is powdery, with a gentle warm iris, and a light vanilla, which however grows in intensity becoming more sweet. At this stage the amber is light and a woody undertone can be appreciated. Unfortunately the dry down settles in to a pure, strong ambroxan (as I noticed Tender Amber from the same collection does too). I smell that type of strong ambroxan that is a little burned but still clean, and a little aromatic. Some aspects of this amber reminds me a bit of some aspects of fragrances like Cheeky Smile by Jusbox, Scintilla by Giardini di Toscana, or even Zara's For Him Red Edition (but no Baccarat Rouge dna). This is the part of the fragrance that projects a lot and basically lasts hours upon hours. Personally I am tired of this type of usage of ambroxan. It basically eats away all the other components, and it is starting to appear as a scratchy and overused material to me (cheep smelling too). Tobacco Sublime is not so warm as one may expect remembering Zara other tabacco based fragrances. This one is more refined, and it smells sophisticated (at least until the strong overdose of ambroxan appears). It is rarefied and refined. The mid is powdery in the most subtle way, and presents a dry yet honeyed tobacco note, devoid of any cherry or boozy nuances (as it usually is). It is very gentleman like, elegant. The heart of the fragrance has an aura of sophistication which I belive it is given by its subtle nature. There is a touch of saffron too in the blend, which is treated in a quite etherial way, making me appreciate the fragrance even more. Sillage is medium, and lasting power good (although half of the time only the ambroxan based dry down can be smelled). If reapplying is not a problem, then this is indeed a nice unisex fragrance worth having (considering the price and the quality ratio). It is now available on Zara's website in a 30ml format and a 100ml format. I advice everyone to be careful with the bottle since it is refillable: when first bought it would be a good practice to control the cap and maybe secure it.

I've got a large collection of the most popular designer fragrances, from Dior, Chanel, Armani, Tom Ford etc. and I haven't bought a non-designer brand frag in years. I was in Zara buying some stuff, and out of curiosity I checked out the colognes. I loved the smell of this so much I bought it, my first cheap cologne in years. It's a lovely combination of vanilla, iris and some amber and tobacco. The main thing you get is the vanilla and right after iris, encompassing a pleasant amber within it, with the tobacco giving it small bit of masculine luxury. Imagine a combination of Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille's drydown (without the clove and spices), and Dior Homme Intense, but lighter, with a much more prominent vanilla and no lavender. However, a few days later I wore it again. This time I put on a lot cause while the longevity is good, the sillage is pretty weak to moderate. And even though I accomplished my goal of getting it to project a lot, for the first time ever, after years of seeing this word on fragrance reviews, I experienced "cloying", it's the first time a frag is bothering me and I want it to end, a sweetness I find pleasant at first but then it starts to smother my senses and feel abnormally strong. I've never experienced this before, and I have overdone it with projection monsters like Sauvage Elixir and Dior Homme Intnese. So yeah, it smells very nice, rivaling mainstream designer frags imo, but it's meant to be subtle and not project a lot. Don't defy its intended design by putting on extra, cause you WILL find it unpleasant and nauseously sweet. Just a little bit.

There's a Zara store near my office and I've been testing their 2023 perfumer creations almost every lunch break to try the various men's perfume on skin. TS is really Subtle, enjoyable and almost addictive. Super safe to be worn in an air conditioned office environment. Just leave the bottle on your desk... every now and then, just pop open the cap and spray a little on yourself, and your work day will just pass by delightfully. However, I would rank this below Sand Dessert at Sunset but higher than Lush Vetiver, all the 3 EDPs I have purchased over a few weeks after testing. Their scent profile do not overlap so there's no redundancy here. I found Sunrise in the Red Sand Dunes too 'synthetically' sweet of an opening till the mids and had to endure it for almost 1-2 hours before a very very nice drydown. So decided to skip it. The rest Tender Amber and Spell Caramel were redundant once you've smelled Sand Dessert at Sunset, which I would definitely choose if only given a choice.

I have no idea what the reformulations of this smell like but that OG white label -- boy, talk about a leather scent, though I don't even think that's officially listed in the notes. Beautiful masculine tobacco without an overwhelming smokiness, woody before drying down into a strong, condensed vanilla and amber. Boozy opening. I smelled like the sexiest man alive wearing this. Could be a bit of a sleazy office worker vibe on a dude, but in the sense of like a coworker you couldn't help but be charmed by. It lasted forever and had crazy projection, people would know I was walking into the room before I had even entered. I miss my bottle dearly, it was tried and true and made me feel tough and set in myself, paired well the newly inherited black leather jacket from my dad lol.

As per packaging, the notes: Bergamot, Sage, Pepper Iris, Patchouli Vanilla, Amber, Tobacco Bergamot and sage are definitely noticeable for a brief moment in the opening. Still, mainly it is a semi-sweet tobacco scent floating somewhere between a thick and thin tobacco scent. The sweetness has a somewhat fresh component to it. It is not The One by D&G, but it does give off a similar fresh-sweet vibe. If anyone's familiar with AZHA Perfumes' Ashes on the Moon, the tobacco is similar to the one found in that perfume. Good stuff. Disclaimer: I am partial to tobacco scents. (Don't expect anything like The Dreamer, or Philipp Plein's No Limit$ series.)

Very nice scent from Zara... Ok my skin it opens a little animalic and it feels like a synthetic oud is at play in the background but this doesn't last. It quickly makes it iris note apparent but it's not a lipsticky style iris like in Dior homme intense or givenchy gentleman edp but a more floral type iris, the tobacco is very hay like and plays a small part in this fragrance, it's the amber in the base and iris that's most prominent. Nice fragrance, but a direct clone of anything else but more a combination of many.

Bought a bottle as soon as I let this drydown on skin! I love what Zara is doing with these new releases working with amazing perfumers! This is very nice and delicate fragrance! One of my favourite so far since majestic green! It’s definitely my No1 out of the 4 releases in this line. Correct note breakdown: Bergamot, Sage, Pepper Iris, Patchouli Vanilla, Amber, Tobacco

After trying some of these fragances in store, to my surprise this is the one I liked the most on my husband. I was hoping it would be caramel spell or sand desert, but no. Loved Tender Amber though, but it's too fruity, for his taste.

Such a great Xmas gift idea! Very unisex, scent with surprising quality of warm sweet boozy tobacco with ambroxan vibes. The best part is that you won’t feel bad using this up as the price point is a steal! Run.

Out of all of the other fragrances from this line, this is hands-down the best.
