When Reflection Meets Renewal Vibrant Leather Boisé features Palo Santo, whose swirl of smoke is a soul-uplifting breath of fresh air inspired by the purifying benefits of the legendary burning wood. Palo Santo wood releases a mystical aromatic essence that blends together earthy notes, woods, citrus, incense and a relaxing breeze of myrrh. Although ZARA gave it the name Boisé, which means Woody, what I experience is more of burning wood. The opening is zesty and dewy. I receive tangy citrus fruits along with a dewy powderiness of violet leaves. The zesty aroma is more sweet than harsh, akin to mandarin or tangerine. I can feel the boozy redolence of the Mandarinetto. Mandarin liqueur, or Mandarinetto, is an excellent homemade digestive made with the peel of these typical winter citrus fruits. It’s calming, serene, and wonderfully subtle. As the perfume develops, it shifts into smoky, drier woods with a hint of leather. A smooth and slightly creamy cistus enters after the smoky incense gains a bit of its sharpness. The incense is a whisper through the composition, but it’s not the protagonist; it’s just a decoration. The smoky, leathery notes, dry, woody undertones of the essence, and the warm, elegant cistus resin highlight the heart of Boisé. There is more than just incense smoke but is something darker and smoky, never to where it has been burnt or charred. The dry-down is slightly floral with plenty of wood. As the incense recedes into the background, Boisé becomes creamy, dry woods and aged leather with a modicum of resinous sweetness. The sweet and slightly spicy myrrh adds warmth and softens the composition, although the incense is more of an illusion after an hour of use. I smell a rosy nuance between the velvety geranium leaves and dewy rose petals. Boisé has a citrus opening, with creamy myrrh that oozes, followed by leathery and resinous accords. The woody backbone is astonishing. While it is a pleasant fragrance to wear, the performance of the fragrance is relatively poor, with minimal projection and moderate longevity. The smoky and woody accords make the scent ideal for the cold months of autumn. Not too intense. I like to wear it during the day and late afternoon. I'm basing my review and sensations on a bottle I've owned since June 2021.

The best of the vibrant leather range. Woody, amber, smoky incense. Batches may vary but my bottle has great longevity and sillage without being overpowering. Doesn't smell like most safe designer fragrances and could easily be a signature. Shame it was recently discontinued (as zara does with seemingly all of their nice fragrances). Really hope they bring it back

This is my favorite from the Vibrant Leather collection. On my skin I get Aventus mixed with Black Afgano, and as it dries down it starts to transition into Black Afgano mixed with D&G The One. Eventually in the final stages all I get is The One vibes. I like all 3 of those fragrances and the combo works well IMO

I recently purchased this perfume and I have to say the quality edge over other designer fragrances and the scent is on the expensive league. I have different fragrnces in different price range but I think it is the best fragrance scent that I ever have I will repurchase it soon before it get reformulated.

I was looking for a perfume made with palo santo. So I used the "search by notes" function on this site. Then I found this one. It's exactly that one I want.

This fragance smells like a fresh palo santo bag , it’s so damn pleasant ! Really balsamic

This is actually very nice- smooth, dry, woody incense that leans a bit light and fresh. Not baby powdery or funky at all. Needs to settle to let the depth come out, initial sprays are transparent. Blind buy safe, not spectacular but it smells good and it’s easy to imagine it having a spot in the rotation when you want this type of scent- dry, not a freshie, not sweet, different than most other scents I have. Versatile enough that I might reach for it pretty often. Can’t comment on projection or longevity yet but I personally would not want this to be overpowering, so if it has a typical Zara level performance that shouldn’t be a deal killer for the price level. Sprayed on my arm and I keep getting whiffs at least 2 hours out. Seems like it will be great for fall and spring when you want something a little different. Can’t tell yet for winter. It might be too much for summer days, should work for cooler summer nights. I think sunlight/when it’s starts to get above the low 70s might be my cut off. Boise might also be a great layering scent. I just layered it on VL Bogoss, the initial result helps the pleasant but boring Bogoss turn down the sweet a bit and become more interesting (2 Bogoss and 1 Boise)

To me this is not a clone to Black Afgano, I don't think it is intended to as well. Yes it carries similarities but maybe 60%, the rest is quite different, it's kind of a mash-up of Nasomatto Black Afgano X D&G The One X Zara Cedarwood (quite an old Zara frag from 00's with big black wood cap and dark green bottle, even hard to find on Google, let alone Fragrantica). I think this is a very solid release, from an experienced perfumer (Jerome Epinette of Byredo, Atelier Cologne, Vilhelm Parfumerie etc.). The longevity is outstanding (6+ hours) for a Zara fragrance, as well as the sillage. It radiates nicely without slapping one's face for 2-3 hours. I'll go as far as to say that this is one of the best releases Zara ever made for a masculine woody fragrance. IG: @talkaboutscents

Was picking between this and Bogos (because i wasn't able to test before the purchase) and decided to get Boise + VL Cologne. VL Cologne is by far the superior fragrance, even tho. they are almost totally different but this one is nice too. It's not anything that would blow me away (like VL Cologne did) but it's a nice woody/citrusy fragrance that will probably work the best for the fall/winter. Longetivity is not that good. Out of the ones i have, my two favorite Vibrant Leathers are: Cologne and Eclat de Bergamote.

I'm almost shocked, in a good way, with the performance of this. I think there is no other zara fragrance with this sillage and longevity and I ve tried a lot. Definitely this is somewhere between cedrat boise and black afgano. Ideal for fall but also suitable for a winter date. At 19 euros for 100 ml, a try is the least it deserves. It also comes into a beautiful bottle with a magnetic cap.

Black Afgano clone straight up. The incense and woodsy notes jump out straight away. I can't comment on longevity/projection etc as I only tried in store but it does capture the OG fairly well. The only difference I can make out is some type of freshness in the opening but that was it. For a Cartier Declaration Parfum clone try Vibrant Leather Epice.

Update on my previous mini review: Would definitely NOT recommend this because of the performance alone. Vibrant Leather fragrances are such a hit or miss when it comes to performance but this is really bad. I can't smell it from my elbow area just 10 minutes after spraying. It's that bad.

This is one of Zara's better fragrances. It's a sweet woody cologne with slightly better longevity than Zara's other frags. You still need over 10 sprays to make it last more than 6 hours but the average longevity is about 4 plus hours, which is not bad for a cheap frag.

I like it for the price. It is modern woody fragrance. I get mainly the Palo Santo. Pleasant and easy to wear.

Reminds me a lot of Mancera Cedrat Boise. I'm surprised to see that others don't think the same looking at the "Reminds me of" section. For my nose, it's almost a 80% overlap with Cedrat Boise. I respect the scent profile and quality. However, it's not my type of scent - similar to Cedrat Boise.

Don't know what it is with this one, I have the reddish bottle ( Boise Vibrant Leather ), it really does not smell strong and no palo santo seems to come through either. It's been reformulated, the fragrance pyramid reveals fruity notes of bergamot and lemon, labdanum oil, incense, guayacan, leather and palo santo notes . I get this tangerine smell in the opening with the labdanum oil that shines through which gives it this weird cleaning liquid smell , no incense to be detected , nor leather or palo sato... After 10 min's what is left on the skin is a trail of a perfume, you really have to put your nose on the skin to smell something. I might have a weaker batch (31510 - 31/05/2023 , so it's been macerating for only 6 months) as this is soo underwhelming yet I do like it; it's just not very projecting

I blind bought this since the notes seemed pleasant, however the scent is much too sweet and cloying, and overwhelmingly synthetic. Once it settles down into something more pleasant, it dissipates very quickly.

After wearing this perfume for a few months, I finally figured out which scents direction this fragrance belongs to. Although not one hundred percent the same, Vibrant Leather Boise in later stages strongly resembles the phenomenal Guerlain l'instant edt. The way the incense blends with the other notes leaves me with a similar impression as Guerlain l’instant edt. While Vibrant Leather Boise goes in the direction of incense, vanilla and leather, Guerlain l’instant edt pushes in the direction of incense, patchouli and chocolate. I repeat they are not the same but they definitely bring similar concepts, they target a similar area and both perfumes in their final stages have that wonderful mild mentolated gourmand feel. Normally, the quality of the ingredients used is not the same, which is why GL edt is a class in itself, but even so, Vibrant Leather Boise offers for this price range an exceptional wearing experience.

I have bought this because it does smell different from maistream Zara fragrances. I kept a sample on paper in my car stuck on the air vent and convinced by that welcome every time I got the car. I kinda like it (sometime) but I am not wearing often it and I am not sure I will wear it a lot in the future. It deserves to be part of the VL family cause the base it is there and similar to the original but buried under some other ingredients that I am not able to identify, not phony enough to mention the list of notes you see up here, and not misleading enough to comparing it to other expensive options like many do on this website nowdays often just copying and paste other people comments. I paid it half price on sale so not a big damage, but my shelf of regrets is starting to bow.

Such a pity for such a beautiful and interesting aroma, almost every zara's perfume after application lies dead on the skin. Only after two or three hours does the perfume start to crackle and give signs of life, but thats also on a mild and insignificant level. Longevity is ok but projection is zero. The fragrance itself has interesting sweet details built on the famous vibrant leather DNA with additional creamy and incense elements. But all of this can only be felt if you press your nose firmly on the place of application of the perfume, because there is no trace of it in the air at all. Such a shame

waktu malam pas coba spray di kertas wanginya gak begitu mind blowing tapi bukan generic juga. terus saya taruh di ruang tamu. pas bangun pagi buka pintu kamar kecium wangi kayak parfum mewah. ambery, smoky. uniknya setelah total dry down dan projecting dari kertas. aneh. gak mirip black afgano. ngarang nih yang ngevote!

I own Black Afgano and definitely this perfume dry down is almost identical, but I sprayed it on my wrist and it lasted for just a couple of hours. I could smell it only at close distance. Much better to invest the money on Black Afgano itself, Zara Boise is good to understand if you like that kind of perfume.

This is hands down the best vibrant leather variant. One of the best scents for spring nights. Woody and balsamic, smells more expensive than it is.
