Vibrant Leather Platinum

Platinum, why platinum? Typically 95% pure, platinum is one of the purest and among the rarest precious metals. White gold, which is yellow gold mixed with other metals such as nickel, is often rhodium plated to give it a white appearance. It is a precious silvery-white metal, the chemical element of atomic number 78. The Spanish first encountered it in South America in the 16th century, and it occurs in some nickel and copper ores alongside some native deposits. Jewellery, electrical contacts, laboratory equipment, and industrial catalysts are the primary consumers of this precious metal. And perhaps it is precisely the grace and beauty of this precious metal that Vibrant Leather Platinum owes its name. I have to reward nose Marc Zini for the great job he has done here. I’m used to Jerome Epinette’s work when dealing with Vibrant Leather, but in this case, hats off to the perfumer. Being a flanker of Vibrant Leather EAU DE TOILETTE, I should have found its accords between the notes of the perfume and the addition of amber, precious woods and guaiac wood. Vibrant Leather Platinum is a woody, dry, powdery and amber fragrance that offers the forked structure of the root and the powdery facets of the iris. It opens with a dusty, creamy, metallic and floral balance, developed by the blend of iris, citrus and heliotrope, providing the first impression. The powdery face is alive and palpable. The sensation is the same as when I sprinkle my body with talcum powder after a relaxing hot bath, and the cloud of powder spreads throughout the room. And the metallic hue gives meaning to the Platinum name assigned to this flanker. From the opening, it is an absolute force of almond and vanilla notes. I have to be careful with the almond because I like it when used in small doses, but when it’s too much, it creates problems for me, so much so that it becomes hateful. It’s bearable here, super bitter, and blends with that citrusy bergamot undertone from the opening. The heart offers a wonderfully intertwined combination of bitter almond, heliotrope, sweet, and creamy. Now iris transforms into its rooted face. I can get the buttery feel of lipstick and makeup. A bitter undertone developed from the almond milk and heliotrope with a metallic sheen. I find similarities between Hypnotic Poison EAU DE TOILETTE and Deep Vanilla; the milky bitter is blatantly similar. This in-between stage creates a glossy, silky effect and is less like baby powder and more like a powdered malt drink mix, using almonds and vanilla. A strange animalistic gourmand blend emerges in the base, where delicate leather and vanilla interact more prominently. I imagine an almond paste dusted with iris powder. The base lingers on the skin, featuring vanilla fused with an oriental touch of amber and sandalwood. And then there’s a slight smokiness from the guaiac wood. This fusion with the other notes gives it a creamier aroma and less of that powdery scent I mentioned above. Here’s how it stands out from the rest of the wear, soft vanilla and sandalwood with that familiar Vibrant Leather undertone. Vibrant Leather Platinum is like the astonishing discovery of lush iris fields on the edge of a desert. The Green and powdery iris contrast with a combination of vanilla and leather. Projection-wise, it is moderate and becomes a leather scent after an hour. Likewise, longevity is moderate and lasts half a day or night. Its performance could be better, so I have to reapply if I wear it during the day. Instead, if sprayed on skin and clothes, it works well during an evening or night event, a dinner, or a date. This is a perfume to be worn during the year’s colder months, autumn and winter. Even if you like the smell of it, don’t wear it on hot days with lots of humidity as it turns into a dull, cloying mess. Unisex for sure, but some people might say it leans more feminine because it’s so sweet. I’m basing my feelings and review on a bottle I’ve owned since September 2020.

I do not think this has anything to do with S4ND4LW00D. To me this fragrance is one of the best in the Vibrant Leather line, and it is called "Vibrant Leather Platinum" for reasons only Zara might know because this smell is nothing like the original. To me this is a sweet smell, that wants to be leathery, but stays more towards the sweet aspect of the bunch, and stays linear throughout its longevity. I can almost say it's a dupe of something that used to be worn, because my sister used to smell like this back in the day, in the early 2000s. However, in her case it was a smell that happened due to the combination of clothes softener, strawberry flavored chewing gum and tobacco. I really like this. It is a nice and comforting smell, but nothing to get compliments of I think, because it is very specific and it has nostalgia touches for me. The projection is strong and longevity is great. I get more than 8 hours without blinking. I will not use it that much, but it is a nice olfatory experience, and I can see some 20 year old girl wearing this. Yes, it is definitely unisex. 8.2/10.

No, Pierre. I'm not mistaking them. VL Warm is the one that is exactly like White Soho. VL Platinum I actually own it. VL Warm is not leathery at all, whereas this has a touch that reminds of leather, but apparently there isn't any leather in the notes. They have nothing to do with each other. This one is less lighthearted and much less fresh, and more suited for cold weather than VL Warm... It is a very complex fragrance to describe... Leathery, young, a bit gourmandish, a bit strawberry bubblegum like, not fresh, but not too heavy... More feminine than masculine imo.

To anyone who has tried Armani/Prive - Cuir Zerzura, this is a 85% clone, a little bit more ambery! I fell in love with Cuir Zerzura when first smelling it, then to my surprisre when going in to Zara and finding this, I had to pick up a couple of bottles for cheap! Great performance all round, and not just for the price, with a very dense yet light scent characteristic. Highly recommended if you're looking for a great rich scent for Autumn/Winter.

This is a clone of Parfums de Marly Pegasus. I has a 80% overlap. I really like it and bought a 100ml bottle for 20 EUR. The 100ml bottles even have a magnetic cap. Absolutely amazing. Longevity is strong. On skin you get around 6-8 hours. On clothes you'll get 12 hours+. I really like it and it's such a cheap alternative to PDM's Pegasus.
