Violamore

When I spray it on me, I initially smell a little bit complex fragrance, that swings from licorice to violet back and forth for the first half hour. Then it settles in the middle and I smell perfect Morositas, an 80s gummy licorice candy, the pop version of the classic Turin violet candies. As a previous reviewer wrote, I also think that the listed raspberry is a mistake, because the fruit notes in it are clearly blackberry oriented. Moreover, as the brand is Italian, I think that the fragrance name is a pun: violamore is a made up word where "viola" is violet, "more" is plural blackberries (the shape and colour of those Morositas candies), but also violAmore makes you think of love for violet. I may be mistaken, but that berry note for me is not raspberry at all. I bought it while I was on holiday in a niche perfumery shop, after I listed my favourite notes (violet is one of them) to the owner. I really wanted to go back home with a new perfume, and I like it, but I would not buy it again if I had the chance to try it on for a whole day and think it over, because it is quite childish to me and too gourmand. Got some compliments from licorice lovers, though.

Violamore by Zeromolecole is an unexpected gourmand fragrance. Its scent is straightforwardly that of licorice candy, with the violet playing a subtle role in the background. Its sweetness avoids being overly coquettish. For me, the licorice note is very prominent, which might not appeal to those who aren’t fond of food-like fragrances or find licorice overwhelming. Personally, I feel this fragrance benefits from layering to add complexity and create a more balanced composition.

Very sharp and artificial (acetonic) raspberry note ruining everything. Not a safe blind buy.

Very heavy on bitter licorice, then raspberry and candied violet, no sweet, very nice!
