Zhirinovsky

Zhirinovsky blue EDP is a woody, aromatic, slightly spicy, slightly fresh, citrusy scent for men, suitable for autumn, spring, day and night and cool summer nights. It opens with a blast of citruses, strong bergamot, intensive grapefruit and weak mandarin. In a minute or so, comes to the surface a very strong cardamom note followed by noticeable cedar with some spices. When it settles down I get strong vetiver with noticeable musk and weak amber. The dominant notes are vetiver, bergamot and cardamom. The longevity and the projection are both moderate, about 3.5 hours with 5-6 sprays. Zhirinovsky blue EDP have a resemblance with the old powerful Edgars (Эдгар) by Dzintars. There is also a recipe turning this scent into the old Edgars. The price for 100ml EDP is 700 ruble, about 11 US dollars. There is also a blue color Zhirinovsky EDP for men of limided edition in luxury boxset which I have (which is not in the Fragrantica database), a creation of Jean Jacques Vivier, which is more powerful (one of the most powerful contemporary cheap russian scents), with 6-7 hours performance and with many similarities with the Givenchy pour Homme Blue Label. This is the new version, a revival of the Edgars (Эдгар) Dzintars. It's 90% the same. There is a recipe in order to have the old good Edgars using this blue Zhirinovsky EDP. Open the bottle and add 3 ml musk (or hibiscus or angelica, it would have almost the same taste but the musc is better choice) to the full bottle of 100ml, seal it well (not take air) and leave it for a month in a cool dark place. Then put it for 24 hours at the freezer compartment and voilà you have the old good Edgar Dzintars.
