Nana 柿不柿

Nana feels like stepping into a memory - but not in the sentimental, poetic way many nostalgic perfumes try to be. It’s that balance of warmth and restraint that immediately made me think of Sophia Grojsman’s creations - that same emotional roundness, the softness of fruit wrapped in musky woods, but done with a distinctly Chinese sensibility. The persimmon here is exquisite - not bright or juicy, but mellow and textured, a bit stale, like late-season fruit ripened and forgotten in a fruit bowl. If you have ever eaten a persimmon, you know that mushy texture that hides the astringent kick. There’s something almost chypre-like in how it’s treated, the way the bitterness blends with the earthy patchouli and the creamy, grounding base. It reminds me of Poême by Lancôme or Magic by Céline - those moments where fruit becomes atmospheric rather than edible. I love that Nana doesn’t try to be instantly pretty or fresh. It’s warm, moody, atmospheric, and deeply human - a portrait of tenderness that feels lived-in and familiar. One of those rare scents that doesn’t evoke nostalgia; it is nostalgia.

It’s a fresh, spicy watery green scent. The bamboo and citrus create a clean, cool lift that reads almost aquatic. The persimmon is extremely quiet — barely noticeable, more of a soft background sweetness than a distinct fruit note. Rose stays gentle, patchouli reads clean, and the base is smooth with sandalwood and light powder from orris. Pleasant.
