Triple Matcha

Funny that Fragrantica would add this one today when I got my order this morning! What a nice surprise, this is. Everyone who knows me knows I'm not a huge gourmand fragrance lover so this was a bit of a gamble and this is not at all what I expected! What we have here is a matcha latte fragrance with a floral twist. The opening is definitely very green, floral tea notes. I honestly don't pick up the rose all that much, it's definitely there but it's not intrusive to me (although keep in mind I love rose). I get more a lactonic matcha smell (there's a milk accord implied here). For matcha lovers, this has Yabukita, Saemidori and Okumidori matcha notes, so I get that grassy greenness of the Yabukita in the opening and the more vegetable, smoother notes of the latter two in the drydown. So yeah, definitely gourmand but I don't feel like a walking dessert. It turns eventually quite vanillic and creamy, along with a very nutty vibe that I would get from something like Hojicha. The longevity is good, I've been having it for over 6 hours now and it's still clinging to my skin, so that's nice. Very good stuff, if anything it makes me curious for the rest of this new collection which is centered around more gourmand ideas. (Edit: this turned out to be quite a compliment puller each time I've worn it since I got it, so nice bonus).
