Taraf Black

I debated on this fragrance for a while bc I have a love/hate relationship with oud. I finally purchased it.....I am not disappointed. It is beautiful 😍. The saffron and oud is wrapped in a warm sweet blanket. I can't believe I paid $16.99 for this. It smells so expensive. I will probably buy a backup bottle to have for next fall/winter. My batch is from Dec. '22 and I can only assume it will get even better as it sits. I highly recommend for anyone who loves this scent profile.

This is a nice Middle Eastern scent, very sweet. I personally wouldn’t call this a clone of Arabian’s Tonka although I notice similarities. A good cheap fragrance, but the only issue for me, just like the other fragrances from Zimaya or Fragrance World, is the longevity. To me, it hardly goes 4-5 hours, unfortunately. But for the price, it’s worth it.

This is really good. perfect amount of sweetness and the oud isn't too strong. I’ve never smelt Arabians tonka so I didn’t know what to expect. Super unisex though. Lasts about 8 hours and projects for 2-3. Great value especially since I got it for €13.50.

First impressions straight from the box: I was a little worried at the first sniff because the bergamot or something made it smell super cirtussy and not at all what I was expecting. But it calmed now nicely and the sweeter notes started showing. I haven't smelled arabians tonka so I can't compare. Surprisingly light (not weak, I mean the texture) and airy, pretty nice :) I get mostly soft wood notes and balanced amount of sweetness. To me this is super unisex. But I think like this will change once it settles a bit. Will try to update! Edit: I'm starting to get a lot of saffron from this. Tbh, I didn't even know what saffron really smelled like before, but I tried a saffron scented lotion and it reminded me so much of taraf black so I connected the dots finally :'D Still enjoying this although not my favourite. Performance is pretty good. Sometimes it feels like it's missing something so I like to layer with this. Editx2: This became too strong for me and the bottle was demoted to room spray. Went from like to just ok. Airy, saffrony, woody, not super sweet (maybe i would like it more if it was sweeter), but something just rubs me the wrong way.

after 3 months of maceration the ingredients still not well blended. the opening is sharp and all i get from this is pencil shaving vibe and sugar. Linear and boring.

Arabians Tonka but with less Tonka and a lot more Saffron, not exactly a clone. 7/10

not nearly as weird as I thought it would be given the bottle, notes and the fact it's Asian, and not nearly as synthetic as the price would suggest, once you go past the opening 30 seconds that is. I didn't buy it because it is supposed to be a clone of Montale fragrance, I bought it because it was 10 euros on Notino and I already have couple of Zimaya products which I like. so why not? the most important thing here is that it doesn't smell weird or too exotic for your average western nose. once it settles, I mostly get that tonka note without ever really feeling there's oud in it. only because of that is this a good deal. for example, Oud is great by Zimaya was equally inexpensive yet basically useless to me as I would never wear it in public. this on the other hand I wouldn't be ashamed of, so there's that. black sweater, black pants, autumn afternoon, when it's still not too cold outside. look, the only reason I even considered it is because whenever I'm buying something and have about 10-15€ to spend freely, I always try to fit a cheappie ir two along with other products. sometimes it ends bad and in most cases it ends with me getting another fragrance I'll never use that much even if I happen to like it. Taraf will never be even close to my favourite fragrances and there's good chance I'll forget I even have it, yet I can't help but like it.
