Capri

Capri doesn't smell like I was expecting, and I was taken aback by that initially, but after wearing it off and on for a few weeks in this mild, rainy excuse for summer, I find I like it very much after all. It might not be juicy or very bright, but there's no reason to complain when I got a wonderful and more original floral citrus scent instead! It's a true citrus scent because all the way through the development there's this lovely toned-down but still zesty, bittersweet (bitter) orange note at the center of the composition. But equally dominant is the floral note, which to my nose doesn't read specifically as ylang-ylang, but more as a "general floral" aspect: natural, dusty and herbal and almost pollen-like - probably this is helped along by the multitude of great floral and herbal/aromatic notes in the base, even though it's all so well blended I can't pick out any of the notes separately. Both of these aspects go together very well, and it makes for an elegant kind of summer cologne, perfectly unisex and very natural, rather understated for a citrus. Indeed like a walk in a mediterranean orange grove, and very clean and kind of neutral, as remarked by the only other reviewer so far. It's a shame that this wonderful fragrance seems to be so unknown/underrated!

I am very impressed by the 3 scents I've tried from 19-69. I bought some travel bottles online and capri was the one I thought I wouldn't care for as I'm usually not attracted to citrus forward scents. Honestly, capri was such a positive surprise for me! I love that I don't get the typical sharpness or citrus peel scent I expected. The citrus I get is more like the flesh of a juicy orange. It has the perfect touch of sweetness, the type of natural sweetness you'd find in real fruit, not a sugary sweetness. My best way to describe the opening is that it's rounded. As time passes it gets more of an aromatic feel. The floarals are just how I like them, as they only have a supporting role here and helps give capri character. Capri is great and easy to wear. I am so glad I received this as a bonus or I probably would have missed out on a perfume that I really enjoy! 19-69 creates scents with character and air. What I've tried so far has never been suffocating or dense in texture. I absolutely love that and I will a 100% continue to explore the offerings from this brand.

I tried the sample through Beautyhabit 3 perfume samples program. And ordered the actual perfume with first try. It was everything I was looking for. I initially blind bought the Bottega Veneta eau de parfum after reading reviews about it. And I was looking for perfume that will suit my not too feminine appearance that is chic, carefree, and independence. However, it was too masculine for my liking. I can't really explain since I no expert. However, something was too strong and didnt smell fresh. On the other hand, this 19-69 Capri was chic, fresh and not too strong, comfortable smooth and every imaginative. It is something that I never smelled on perfume. If you are looking for unisex perfume that is not crazy on woody smell or so called "grandmother" smell, I highly recommend this perfume.

If you want a fresh orange on your body, you can try this one. Top notes are exactly like the scented oil from the orange peel was sprayed on your face when you are peeling a big and fresh orange. Some green & woody scents of orange leaf and juniper appears also. Then, when the flowers and peppers go on stage, the fragrance turns into a bitten orange, juicy and delicious. After 2-3h the remanings smell like the hands after peeling 6 oranges and washed casually. Fresh and refreshing, juicy, appropriate complexity, modern and natural. You're peeling the perfect orange. Your fingers puncture and tear its skin, its juices shoot and ooze out, spraying you with.. orange. Fresh, green, sweet.. the perfect orange. For a moment, your mind is transported to a grove of oranges. Oranges that aren't too sour or bitter, not too sweet--citrus tangors, without those added preservatives and pesticides and Vitamin D injections and GMOs.. Simply, purely: orange. Ah! You're brought back by your co-workers who can smell you peeling that orange from across the room. "Hey! You bring clementines for everyone?" Well, no, of course you didn't, and you know what? They should have some respect! Clementines? The gall! Capri by 19-69.

A wonderful citrus dominant scent from a brand I’ve never heard of until today. Capri is the Orange groove plus the farm; herbs and spices and home grown flowers. What’s remarkable is that this citrus scent has some oomph. It’s been four hours and I’m still picking it up. Natural profile too; Capri is the opposite of a cleaning product scent. Thankfully the ambroxan note is not detectable. If you’re looking for an herbal citrus to add to your collection, this should be on your test list. The other caveat: Luckyscent sells this in the perfect 30ml collector size. EDIT: my 30 ml bottle arrives from Sephora today, $25 cheaper than Luckscent.

I wasn't expecting anything more than a citrus freshie but this has serious wow factor imo. It smells exactly like you're peeling a perfectly ripe, deep orange Tangelo (cross between a tangerine and pomelo) fruit. 🍊 The only other fragrance that approaches this kind of realism is Atelier Cologne Orange Sanguine which smells just like orange juice. But IMO this is better. After that comes in cardamom and pepper for a touch of spice and some galbanum and musk. Not much iris on my skin.Performance is about average for a citrus fragrance with average push and longevity. But, the smell is OUTSTANDING. A real gem. Scent 9.7/10 Performance 4/10

I am usually not a big fan of citrus scents, but this is different. The first impression is intriguing, citrusy, spicy and floral at the same time, less harsh than most. There is no trace of chemical/cleaner smell (to my nose), often an issue with citrus-based fragrances. I can smell the Ylang-ylang right away and it gives it a beachy vibe. The citrus note softens even further as it dries, and the profile becomes more floral with the jasmine being quite distinct. The middle is mostly clean and soapy, like a really nice fancy soap. It's perfectly unisex, ideal to bring to a beach vacation, and share it with your significant other.

#882 in my "Tour de Fragrance" As happened with all the Atelier Colognes, when I used my decant of "Orange Sanguine" I thought, "It's too bad they don't make an EDP of this." Turns out 19-69 makes an EDP of that scent. Same deliciously spicy orange! This is my second 19-69 decant. The first was "Miami Blue", such an excellent freshie that I had to have a bottle, and it will be the same with this one. This is car pool, elevator and small office safe, but it's warm weather day wear for me. 19-69 is not carried by my usual discounters and Lucky Scent is pricey, but I'm gonna bite the bullet again for this.

Sampled this as part of the “Collection Part 1” sampler and much to my surprise, this was my favorite scent of the bunch! Did a paper test when I got my hands on the sampler collection back in December and *hated* it on first sniff, got nothing but citrus disinfectant wipes (my friend agreed). Once the summer came around and I was able to wear it on skin for a night out, everything changed! The juniper berries and musk notes really add some gorgeous dimension to this scent and take it from straight-up citrus to something more sophisticated. True unisex and a great summer scent overall.

when i first got a sample of this a while back i wasn't impressed by it, just filed it away as a summery green citrus with an odd bit of humidity. now coming back to it i'm feeling a lot more appreciative. the initial burst of citrus is beautiful—sharp but sophisticated. on the skin that went away quickly, leaving for me the juniper and pepper that others talk about. the undercurrent of something soft and musky underneath the sweet orange smell reminds me so strongly of my grandparents' house. i don't know what that smell is but i love it. really beautiful and nostalgic.

This fragrance is a journey. I think it develops more than any other fragrance I own thus far. Super, super fresh orange in the opening - like you're peeling an orange and you've accidentally gotten the juice on your hands. Very realistic. As it sits, it transforms into a deliciously sweet floral with a little muskyness. The ending is completely different from the beginning. I received the full bottle of this as a gift and it is truly the perfect summer scent. 10/10 recommend if you love citrus!

Body cream luxe Very interesting aroma, creamy citruses. At the beginning it is an orange with a peel, very realistic. Then the aroma transforms into the smell of a body cream, which is very pleasant. There is a very gentle shade of soap. I don't like persistent fragrances, but there is no persistence here at all, they need to be watered. For me, it's more Cologne than Eau de Parfum. Too bad it's very expensive for us.

It was my first niche-love. Fresh, peeled oranges and mandarin, cardamom and other spices underneath and greeness. It's a sunny, warming, spicy freshie, and I have never smelled any other parfume like this. Quality is superb. Lasts for about 6 hours and projects in the first 2 hours.

This is a lovely nostalgic scent for me. Smells exactly like walking into a L'Occitane store in the mall with my mom when I was a kid. Very herby, citrus-y, and clean, without feeling synthetic.

Incredible citrusy, pink peppery, floral, and ever so slightly musky fragrance! Doesn’t last too long sadly, but it smells amazing for the 3-4 hours it is there.

Uplifting and good quality scent

This is lovely. I'd say this is a true unisex. Strong Citrus at the beginning, fading into something thats cologney but also a little flowery. It somehow smells different in different situations-- I kept smelling different delicious scents this morning, and assumed all my coworkers had suddenly abruptly upped their fragrance games, but nope, it was just this, haha. Mostly left clean and crisp scents in rooms for the first hour, but after about 3 hours its very close to the skin. Projects and lingers in the first hour or two, then settles. Longevity is just short or average for a Citrus scent, though I do have a feeling it'll stay subtly on clothes for a while.

Initial impression: Oranges. . . succulent, juicy and bittersweet with yang-ylang. Sort of a reminder of Jean Nate & 4711 Muelhens soapiness. A cleanness to this scent, like a window opened on a bright sunny late morning when the sun has had time to warm the orange groves and garden below and that scent wafts into the room to freshen and bring a sparkle to the air. Slight whiff of berries (juniper or cranberry, not sure which). A unisex scent, as you will only smell clean and neutrally fresh, like just out of the shower. Not much projection. For those who frequent or work in an environment where perfume wearing is frowned upon this would be a safe bet.

I think this fragrance is carried by the fact that I LOVE this type of scent. However, I have smelled a lot of fragrances like it, especially in the indie/niche space, and I can't say that its terribly original or mind-blowing. I just love smelling like oranges and green aromatics, and this one delivers, especially in the first blast. It's not long lasting but then again, not a lot of citrus-forward scents are.

Starts off with a punch of everything orange: rrind, pulp, juice, oil, everything. After a bit, the orange fades to a more neutral and green scent. A bit spicy, and bright. This is a complex fragrance and I enjoy it, perfect for a summer day on an island like Capri.

I love how the citrus/orange freshness is couched in soft sensual yellow florals. I get the comparison to scents like Guerlain Mandarine Basilic; if you like that you probably like Capri as well. But Capri is less sweet and more complex, which is great.

Smells like orange peel throughout. Would be lovely for summer! Not *my* preference though if yous are interested in my other reviews

Smells like photorealistic limoncello. Terrible longevity only makes it a good fit for the summertime.

This in my opinion is a the sibling to Invisible Post. Invisible Post is this fresh and spicy mesh that really really works well to form this beautiful spring and summer day time scent. This on the other hand is the citrus and spice version of it. It's got this intoxicating bite to it that I have never smelled in a citrus scent before. I keep going back to it. I will say, as it dries down it becomes more of this fresh/musky/spicy scent with the citrus being more nondescript rather than a menagerie of citrus'. If you enjoy citrus scents or are looking for a citrusy/spicy scent to add to your rotation this summer: this should be your go to. I recommend smelling this and Invisible Post before choosing between the two as they are very similar to each other. This also is a really nice scent for the workplace as it is just weird enough to stand out, but not mass unappealing like some of the other scents 19-69 has to offer.

Bright! A little bit of spice from the pink pepper is beautiful with the citrus. It screams summer. I love that it is perfectly unisex. It dries down a bit underwhelming, too crisp with not enough body to support the mandarin juice at the beginning. Develops a sort of detergent element. I would say there are too many similar scent profiles out there for this to stand out.

It's a take on a traditional Eau de Cologne. Citrus, citrus flowers, herbs, and some "cool" spices. It smells classic but not dated. There's just a little sweetness running through, unlike most scents in this genre, which tend to go sweet and ambery after a while. Masculine leaning. Mature. It lasts well for It's genre, but projection is low. A like.

bright citrus opening with nothing but sichuan pepper and cardamom for me in the drydown. i'm not complaining—it's quite realistic and smells like toasting spices over a gas range—but i can totally see how others read it as a body-odor note. wears about four hours on me until all that's left is the ghost of a single green sichuan peppercorn.

Starts with a nice, realistic mandarin note. What happens after that, I can't really put to words but it leaves me unimpressed. Probably it's that I can't really recognise the following notes but after the mandarins this juice doesn't take me anywhere.

Like sunshine in a bottle. Lots of bitter orange that on drydown melts into spicy pepper. The citrus keeps it light and uplifting despite the rather generic cologne base notes.

Capri was supposedly influenced by the 1963 French New Wave hit movie Le Mepris, and I can see that, but not exactly in the way that the brand advertises. Capri is front loaded with orange notes, which initially gives it a sparkling, fun-in-the-sun eau de cologne-style feel. But the pepper notes combined with the cardamom, a note that goes stale fryer grease on me here, become so aggressive that the perfume soon falls off the edge into something danker. So I guess if you consider that the early movies of the French New Wave predicted the latter decades of the 1960s, when the youth-powered movements ostensibly preaching peace, love, and resistance began to reveal their underbellies of drug addiction, violence, despair, and ultimately disillusionment, then Capri is spot on. Whether that’s intentional, I don’t know, but to me it’s less a perfume that evokes moneyed bohemians living it up at some Mediterranean hot spot and more unwashed Charles Manson acolytes shifting along amid the louche Hollywood elite.

On me this is a generic summer freshie, sullied by a schmear of undeodorized armpit - a composition only explicable as prank, pisstake, or the perfumer’s Metal Machine Music-style protest against a binding contract with the brand ... “oh I owe you one more scent do I!?” But this being a brand I respect and enjoy, I’m willing to chalk it up to skin chemistry.

I’ve felt like I’ve smelled this a million times before. Not a fan of the DNA. To me there is a strong detergent vibe. I kinda of find this combo of musk and citrus nauseating and I’m usually very fond of musk since it’s one of my favorite notes. I gave this a solid chance on skin but just not for me

Review below is spot on, orange grove plus the farm. Unfortunately for me, the farm includes the sweaty farmer who forgot to wear deodorant. Really, really heavy BO smell coming from somewhere. The orange note however, is incredible. Probably the best smelling orange note in a scent I've ever smelled. Smells pretty bad to my nose, but weirdly enough I tried it on in Texas and all the heavy BO was gone. So give it a try! It might be really nice.

This was gifted to me and I have tried so hard to like it, but on my skin it smells like cheap toilet cleaning products. I could not believe how much it was when I looked it up. I'm into really warm, wintery, amber fragrances, so I find I can layer it with sweeter things to make my current perfume collection more 'day time'. I get none of the white floral/jasmine or interesting musky notes, only screechy citrus. So rancid!

Basically, I will echo everything that’s been said previously about this. This is obviously a done to death scent profile and scent inspiration (I mean, look how many fragrances there are on here that share the EXACT same name). If you are expecting a good quality citrus freshie, you will get that, but then so much more. This is deceptively complex, and the mix of photo-realistic citrus, white florals, and musk creates an addictive fragrance. Somehow, it just offers more than others with a similar scent profile. I get the little bits of juniper, of sichuan pepper, of Angelica.. it all comes together to create a really balanced, harmonious, well-blended scent. To me it has a lot of contrasts, it’s refreshing and crisp, but then also smells quite heady and humid. It seems heavy and thick, but it’s performance is rather subdued and it never gets cloying or over-bearing. What I really love about it is that it has this perfect mix of citrus and florals without really going in the typical Neroli direction. Im generally not a fan of Neroli, so it’s refreshing to see a fragrance in this vein not follow that trope. And then in the dry-down it never really turns into one of those beachy skin musks that so many others devolve into, though it could easily have. When making a fragrance like this, there are so many opportunities to take the path of least resistance, to opt for the expected, but the genius in this is that it merely hints at all that, with a wink and nod, while floating above the fray. Also, I will say I feel this way about a lot of 19-69’s fragrances... they do this great job of seeming minimalistic and pared down and trendy, yet being complex and atypical. It’s funny, because they really try to market themselves as being “counter-culture”, and they have received a bit of flak for this, because how counter-culture can you really be when you are sold at Sephora? And they seem very glossy and “curated” and just begging for influencers to hawk them on whatever platform. (But at least they are leaps and bounds better than those trite, uninspired, Margiela fragrances, which I’m sure Sephora sells 100 to one over these) But then, having smelled all of the line, I get it. There actually is a bit of cheekiness and maybe even subversion in them. It’s like they are firmly entrenched in the system, but doing so while flipping everyone off behind their backs.

I think this is really unique. I don't get why people are saying that it's like a typical cologne. I get the bitter orange in the opening and a lot of Pink Pepper with some florals and then after a minute I get a lot of Szechuan pepper it makes it smell like a little bit dirty, spicy, and musky but they're still that fresh citrus lingering. Lots of Szechuan pepper on me. It almost smells like food from a Chinese restaurant... but in a good way. I just don't know if I would feel comfortable wearing it because the intense food smell but it's still pretty at the very end I don't know why but I smell basil. It's Unique and I'm torn between if I want it or if I don't.

Citrusy "mediterranean" fragrances aren' t usually my thing. I liked this one though. The opening here is sharp and bitter, exactly like the white part of the orange peel and honestly not so pleasant to me. But if you wear It on skin after the top notes are gone, aromatic, spicy and even smoky notes make their appereance. It transforms into an interesting and pleasant summer scent, It is still citrusy but not that kind of vitaminic screechy citrusy I usually dislike, It is a mysterious sophisticated citrus. Unisex leaning masculine. Of the discovery set this was the one I liked more together with invisibile post and Habana.

This is a very mellow, lax, and inoffensive green citrus scent. It’s smells like something a rich teenage girl would wear on a lazy cruise vacation in the Summer. The immediate opening smells like cleaning product but it gets better very quickly. I like this but I don’t love it. The Aqua Allegoria Forte Mandarine Basilic in my collection is stronger and earthier and makes this kind of redundant.

Opens up with bitter orange, before transforming to a floral scent - chamomile, and I smell orange blossom too. There’s a “sexy armpit” smell to it. At first I thought it was cumin but it’s not listed in the notes. Nevertheless, this BO smell is present throughout, don’t get me wrong though, it’s pleasant.

this smells like walking through a greenhouse in the best way possible. I don’t know what note it is, but someone smells like dirt, but in a good way. like fresh, moist, natural dirt mixed with flowers and citrus

Reminds me of something from xerjoff, maybe a mix of nio and renaissance, and the style is similar. Airy, sharp, and a bit wet/juicy. Really nice if you love orange.

Just bought this fragrance today a really good niche freshie
