Away Tonight Man

This smells very nice to me. Taste is subjective, there will be people who hate your favourite fragrances, and people who would make generally disliked fragrances their signature scent. This is my go to for a dark, spicy earthy scent. Away Tonight doesn’t smell too synthetic, although maybe it does when the bottom notes hit. The main notes I pick up are the pink pepper and bergamot with a touch of sweetness. When it dries down to the bottom notes, the scent it produces reminds me a little bit of Musk candy with a touch of earthy spiciness, although you could alternatively view it as a sweet, slightly powdery bergamot smell. This projects nicely off of my skin, people around me can smell it if I’m 1.5-2 feet away from them. It’s moderate in terms of the longevity, I get a solid 5-6 hours per each use. This scent is a hit or miss in terms of other people who will like smelling it on you. It’s not your generic crowd pleaser, it’s a dark spicy scent which we know can come off offensive to soft-nosed people. If you enjoy dark, spicy, earthy and/or bold fragrances, there’s a huge chance you’d enjoy the hell out of this fragrance. Smell: 8/10. Longevity: 6/10. Projection: 6.5/10. Uniqueness: 7/10. General Likability: 6/10.

I have both Terre D'Hermes and Away Tonight and it is a spot on clone. Now, there is a noticeable quality difference between the 2 when I did a side by side comparison, off my skin anyways. Away Tonight does come off a little fresher which could be from the Bergamot, pink grapefruit combo instead of the orange, grapefruit from the TDH. TDH pushes off the skin more and a bit longer than AT. The note breakdowns are very similar with minor differences from the flint, benzoin and pepper in the TDH, whereas the Away Tonight has carrot and pink pepper. The performance was also another noticeable difference with TDH (8hrs) out performing AT (5hrs). All that to say that this is a great cheap alternative to TDH, if you like that profile or are interested in trying that profile give it a try, can't hurt at that price. Worth the $15 price tag at Marshalls, IMO, if you can find it.

I tried it in retail store after some recommendation I saw here, this one got really interesting and appealing smell from the start. I bought it and I don't regret for a second: very deep ,versatile ,fresh and spicy smell. I really love it, can be used in a day or night time, at any occasion or session due to the ingredients inside of it. And the bottle design is very beautiful also.

Another review, this perfume is soo refreshing yet earthy, soo spicy yet light. I think this one is versatile perfume that go with everything you are throwing on it. And I even understand why I'm a fan,as it's remind me of polo sport ralph lauren, sharing some same notes in all levels which are being presented here.

Anyone else get a captivating carrot note in this?? It's different yet appealing Bottle is great too

To me it's Geranium to the bone with maybe a hint of Vetiver. That's why I love it.

When i first got Away Tonight It was not a love at first sniff but I didn't hate it either, its quite a unique scent so I wouldn't recommend blind buying it as I did lol but after a few wears it's become a strong like. It smells aromatic, earthy, woody and little fresh and that carrot note adds that iris/orris root kinda smell to it, and it's definitely very masculine and rugged smelling like an outdoorsy man, sexy in that way.

Blind bought yesterday at Ross for $15. At that price, this is a safe buy. I definitely get the TDH comparisons, but this has an added candied-citrus type sweetness mixed in on top. It’s a unique combo of scents but it works! Dry down leans into a clean vetiver that reminds me of Emanuel Ungaro Men Fresh. Longevity is lower (around 4 hrs) but at this price that’s not a huge complaint.

Purchases from CW in Australia not expecting too much however I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this fragrance for the price. Fresh citrus opening with hints of woods and sweetness underneath. Owning 30+ fragrances niche and designer and this is easily one of the best price to value fragrances I own. Do recommend giving a try.

A pleasant surprise, A&F Away Tonight. It’s not just a simple Hermès dupe, there’s much more to this fragrance. It provides a pleasant presence throughout the day—very strong on clothes, while subtly surrounding you on skin. I’ve received plenty of compliments and praise for it. The price is brilliant for this quality.

I like it. Very masculine woody fresh scent. Can be signature scent. Not too strong for summer and not too weak for winter. Terre d'Hermes Hermes comes to my mind from the first sniff very much so.

Comparable to TDH and Voyage d'Hermes. This has a distinct 'CARROT' note, which was also present in the long discontinued Hugo Boss Bottled Sport. I like it.

Not very complex, but smells similar to hugo boss bottled sport, which is discontinued. So i could see this being a great alternative to that.

9/10 scent but horrible performance

I’ve been using it for a couple of days now. Very nice fragrance and quite strong during the first few hours. For example, this morning when I went to the bank and was standing in front of the counter, the cashier complimented the scent even though there was a considerable distance between us. As for longevity, it’s still too early to tell. What I don’t like is that everyone who complimented me, asked if it was Terre D’Hermes. I never had it in my collection, so I don’t know how similar it is but the fact alone that they asked, means something I guess.

I just wanted to comment here as I own TDH, Away Tonight & the original Away. The opening is similar to TDH and that opening fades quickly (within minutes) and smells nothing like TDH. It smells like a flanker of the original Away and has more in common with the original than anything. If you're thinking this is a clone of TDH, it's really not. The performance is alright, the scent itself is alright. The bottle is pretty cool and good quality.

Beautiful cologne, I haven’t smelled TDH, but if I had to make a comparison, it reminds me of 50 cents “Power” not twins, not siblings, but cousins. They’re in the same peppery clean manly family. It’s not in the notes but I also get a little petitgraine. I have yet to smell the carrot. But I’ll be reevaluating.

The tester card for this is so good, smooth, powdery fresh, rounded, clean... but on my skin the citrus is too prominent with the powder and that mix isn't nice for me. Would be ok without citrus on my skin. Will retest with no other scents if I see on special

Got 2ml Tester with batch code MF14. Fresh aromatic and citrus opening that I really love. Great smell but downside is that projection is low and it last less than 4 hours on my skin.

Yves Rocher Cuir Vetiver + Blue Notes. It's quite simple, but it's not bad if you want that kind of perfume.

This smells quite alot like Boss Bottled Sport. A discontinued fragrance from Hugo Boss.
