First Instinct Extreme

If you wanna have a Hot Boy Summer this is the one. Straight off the top, this fragrance is sweet yet sophisticated. I don't really get the pepper, but the Starfruit and Mandarin leaf come right through for me. Something about it smells really tropical to me, and it's really nice! Not too adventurous, but it's definitely a winner ;) On the mids, this fragrance gets a little sweeter, a little citrusy, but some of the spicy notes start to come out, like the cardamom and such. The mids here are a little interesting because the fragrance actually gets more citrusy. Unexpected, but nice! The dry-down is actually quite unpredictable sometimes. On some occasions, this dry-down is just pure sexy, loud musk. Other times, the dry-down is almost like a nutty vanilla for me, which is presumably the coconut and cashmeran. Regardless, both dry-downs make a bright statement. Longevity doesn't seem to be a problem with this fragrance, it's average for me. Sillage is also pretty good! you can definitely fill a room with 4-5 sprays. This fragrance overall is pretty interesting, and it's definitely a safe option for anyone out there. I would recommend this as a great summer blind buy for anyone in their teens or 20's. Definitely not the most mature scent, but I will be wearing this one a lot this summer! Overall, I'd have to give this one a solid 5/5. I'll definitely be refilling when this one is gone.

Such an underrated scent and it totally gives me a mid-2000’s mall vibe just like Fierce does. I’m guessing it has to do with the type of musk that A&F uses in so many of their fragrances. You can still find the full size 100 ml bottles at random Ross stores, but it is becoming increasingly rare. For $20 this is a bargain and an absolute hidden gem. This a true “extreme” iteration of the original, everything is amped up here. The opening is gorgeous with that starfruit and the pepper adds a masculine touch. This does not smell old to me at all, if anything this smells like a solid starter scent for a high school kid just getting into fragrances, it definitely has a sexy youthful vibe, and anyone in my opinion can wear this. I can see how all the pepper used could give off a body odor smell but thankfully it doesn’t on my skin. Just spicy, fruity and musky. Performance is kinda mid, it doesn’t necessarily project much but it leaves a really nice sillage for maybe 3-4 hours, it’ll get you noticed and can see this pulling compliments. Perfect for a cool evening out. I gotta say the bottle is a work of art and looks fantastic on the shelf with the other First Instincts. Overall a solid cheapie which has a nostalgic yet sexy vibe. Totally worth a blind buy If you can still find this.

I picked up a 100ml bottle for $20 at Ross. This is such a good frag for the price. Its an EDP too. This is a very spicy frag in the opening. The black pepper and Sichuan pepper are at the forefront along with the sweetness of star fruit and the greenish florals are in the background. This last for about 60-90 mins. The spices will make this frag very present to those around you. Its a very masculine opening. Then the spices dissipate gradually when it dries down. This is not too say that the other notes are not present. They are just there in a subtle way. In the dry down you are then left with all the base notes. The dry down is so smooth and creamy and somewhat tropical due to the coconut milk. If you are expecting a strong sweet coconut scent look somewhere else. Nonetheless the coconut milk blends so subtley well with the ever present musk (not too projecting but still present) and the amber, cashmirwood, and suede. Someone in the comments said that this frag works best in the summer evening heat and I couldn't agree more. Such a great frag for an outdoor summer date, outing. There is a sensual scent from the dry down to this when it heats up and radiates off the skin.

Being a college student, this is an easy to reach casual fragrance. I found a few bottles at TJ Maxx a few months back, and I pulled the trigger on a 100 ml for $30. Haven’t smelled the original first instinct, but I can say this is quite nice. Nothing mind blowing nor ground breaking, but this is very pleasant. It’s been a casual grab when I don’t know what to wear or when I’m in the mood for a freshy with some balls to last in cooler weather. Great for the younger crowd (anyone can where whatever they choose, though). I get a solid 45 minutes to about an hour of strong projection, with a moderate silage following the initial blast for the next several hours. Longevity on my skin is amazing for a cheapie: 7-9 hours consistently, even in New England winter weather. The opening is ozonic, musky, fresh, and a little fruity, and it’s quite linear (smells similar, if not the same in the dry down); if anything, it gets more musky, but that’s about it. It’s a clean musk, more of a fresh out the shower type of smell. I was glad to see a bottle pop up at a rack store after it was rumored to be discontinued. If any of this sounds interesting, go and blind buy it at a rack store.

This fragrance is a true edp/intense/extreme version of the original. It takes much of the original DNA and enhances the performance and richness of the fragrance. While at first smell you make think it is around 90-95% the same, when you actually do a side by side, the opening for Extreme is much more citrusy than the original. The original is a semi-sweet, aquatic melon opening where Extreme has a sweet, citrus, spicy opening. If you are familiar with the smell of star fruit, you will definitely recognize it in this fragrance and that fact it is used in place of the melon from the original. To my nose, the fragrances are more like 80% similar. I am a huge fan of the original, but I only find the fragrance appropriate for hot weather daytime parties. Extreme has a touch more maturity and richness so that you can wear it out at night or slightly less casual events year round. If you are a fan of the original, I would highly recommend this a complimentary night time, cold weather version of First Instinct. Also, the presentation is absolutely gorgeous...

This is my first review. Just like to say I love this cologne I’ve tried many over the pasted couple of months and I always come back to this whole line the blue and the together are also very good together is my favorite of the 4. Abercrombie & Fitch's First Instinct Extreme is a captivating fragrance that exudes confidence and sophistication. The initial burst of zesty bergamot and juicy pineapple creates an invigorating experience, while the heart notes of rosemary and suede add a warm and alluring touch. The fragrance settles beautifully into the base notes of rich tonka bean and captivating amber, providing a well-balanced and modern scent. I've been hearing about this and wanted to get it, but I pushed it off because I'm in the $30 and under range for now. So I basically stole it when I saw a $19.99 price for a 3.4 ounce at Ross. I wasn't gonna buy a fragrance till I saw that. I'm in love with this. It isn't some ground breaking scent, but it is very well blended and good for office, day, night, cool, or hot. Super versitile and crowd pleasing. To many sprays will mash the smell together. In the opening it has a sparkle, and a fruity freshness, the pepper peaks out just enough to compliment the amber. It dries down in just a few minutes and the suede and musk begin to shine a bit and hold it together to give it the longevity. It is worth more than what I paid and there is a good chance you will like it. So far everyone I know said "wow" when I told them to smell the atomizer. Price 10/10 Scent 8.5/10 Longevity 7.5/10 Sillage 7/10

First Instinct Extreme strikes me as a smooth, unique, and youthful scent. The fragrance opens with a burst of pepper and citrus, followed by a musky mix of fresh violet leaf, melon, and coconut. The drydown is dominated by a simple yet creamy musk with a hint of coconut. The scent is extremely sweet and multifaceted, sometimes reminding me of a cold glass of gin and tonic and other summer vibes. Despite the overload of sweetness, the cold spices and fresh violet makes this a surprisingly versatile scent with good projection (3-4 hrs) and longevity (8+ hrs). This would make a great signature scent for guys no older than 25 given the youthful vibe. The DNA is also quite unique, not a common scent by any means. This turned out to be a fantastic blind buy for me. Of note is that I never sampled the original; I thus can't compare the two.

I trust all the releases of the American fashion house Abercrombie & Fitch. It is enough that they released the iconic and immortal Fierce fragrance , and they also have hidden gems of fragrances. First Instinct Extreme a sweet, fruity fragrance with a delicate character made by the world-famous perfumer Philippe Romano, who created a number of iconic fragrances. The fragrance combination of star fruit and violet leaves on a base of musk and coconut milk gives the fragrance a special kind of appeal. The best times to use are in moderate and spring weather and even on cool summer evenings. I find the fragrance mature and suitable for ages over 20, and the performance of the fragrance is fairly average, which makes it a good deal. The fragrance bottle is very elegant and attractive, and the price is affordable and not exaggerated.

Is it just me or they took the original and said "Let's make the intense have same DNA with more density!" - "How should we do that?" -- " Change the fresh beautiful melon note and add as much Pepper and Cardamom as you can throw in it!" This fragrance is strong on my skin a true intense flanker but i would rather just stick to the original. Very strong and spicy on my skin I get heavy projection first hour and longevity is strong as well for hours 2-6 i get little bit more than skin scent projection from this Update---- 6 weeks later This is way better just on skin, if your going to spray on clothes maybe do your back/shoulders area the opening is more tolerable to me now before was too spicy and i learned that less is more with this one. 3 Sprays max. On each arm and on back of neck for me

starts off fresh and crisp and then becomes powdery in the drydown. despite it's EDP concentration it doesn't last on me i get probably no more than 3 hours of longevity after that smell is barely there which really sucks cause i like really like the scent. projection is slightly better at 1.5 hour i don't know its just super weird because longevity is terrible. i know we all have different skin and it might be longer for someone but i've been wearing this for 3 straight days and no improvement. on clothes of course its going to be longer but yeah overall its not terrible the smell is nice to me, worth it for the price i paid for $20, its just the performance isnt up to par with other EDP or even EDT. in comparison nautica voyage lasted on me 5 hours or more

From the first spray, I noticed a fantastic burst of energy. It's bright, clean, peppery, tropical... This is blind buy safe for me, hard to imagine someone actively disliking this. Also the bottle looks great, fantastic presentation. Shines for me in the summer, perfect for the warm days and also the breezy evenings. But it easily fits into every season and time of the day. It can be a signature scent for a small enthusiast or that easy grab when you don't know what to wear because you have more scents than occasions to wear them. Performance for all A&F fragrances I tested is not very good during hot days, let's see how they mature and how they perform when the cold comes to town.

I might be the first one to review this.. wow! I've owned two bottles so far, that is how much I like this fragrance. I haven't used all of the first bottle, but I wanted to have a second one for when I run out. This fragrance is a more mature version of the original. It's less tropical/fruity, and a bit spicier. The 'extreme' moniker suggests that it should have strong longevity. And, I'd say for the most part that it does. I'd say I get a solid 3-4 hours of a scent bubble, and it of course lasts longer on clothing. I've received a couple of compliments when wearing this fragrance. For what this can be bought for, I consider it a great deal. I also like the bottle design.

Blind bought this and my first reaction was "Is this spicebomb?". The opening and dry down are the same and lasts one whole work day (about 8 hours). I carried a scent bubble for about 3 hours but will keep testing to account for nose fatigue. I wouldn't be surprised if I found out that it lasts longer, and for 1/4th of Spicebomb's price this is a no brainer. I know Spicebomb is more than good, it's great, but I'd take two of these over one Spicebomb (even though technically you can get 4 for the price of one spicebomb). Smells deeper than the OG first instinct. Since I wear the first instinct mostly for gym, this one is better for other ocassion than gym like in office or casual day time activity. While this has richer scents profile, I think the OG still a nice fresher fragrance to wear in high heat weather. I really like the musky ozonic vibes from this DNA and both first instinct and first instinct extreme really good with that. I think it is a blind buy safe, but if you're looking for something unique, then it's better to test it first.

First Instinct Extreme is an aromatic, spicy and acuatic fragrance. This versión is more powerful than original First Instinct, is fruity too, but this changes melon by carambola and add coconout cream, too is more spicy, adding pepper and cardamom. In general is more complex but at the same time is less versatil due to the spicies, and because the musk and amber don't provide a enough fresh feeling, anyway I like it Better for using in spring and autuum. Its longevity is very good, over 12 hrs. and has a good sillage.

I think this is a pleasant, year round, work friendly fragrance. It nothing like the original, and I’m not sure “Extreme” is the correct name. But I like it fine. Longevity is decent as it’s an edp, and projection isn’t too much but it’s okay. I think it’s likeable but I’m not sure it’s a compliment getter. People will think you smell nice, but it won’t blow anyone away. However if you want a grab and go for any type of weather this is good. Anything from high heat to the cold. This works.

I blind bought this at ross for 20 dollars out of curiosity and I was blown away on how good this is! It smells like a good deodorant with a marshmallow vibe in the opening, in the mid the spices start coming out more and start making it into a fresh spicy fragrance. It’s very versatile, youthful and it wont offend anyone, Its a steal for the price you can get it if you look in the right stores. I give it a 9/10

Not bad for the price. People sometimes forget that these colognes cost less than $35 and they want the best of the best. Really good for the price. I had the original First Instinct and it was very weak performance but it did smell good. It smells expensive and is not synthetic at all. Longer lasting than the original makes me give it an 8/10 overall.

This is a more intense version of the original which I loved already – I heard they killed of the First Instinct line of A&F which is a shame because the original and some flankers were a lot more versatile than the Fierce line – today you still can buy a bottle at a cheap price – in a couple of years prices will spike certainly for the extreme version

First A&F for me, I am in my 60’s and have no issue wearing this. To me the pepper notes give it a somewhat more mature smell and the sweetness in the dry down keeps it youthful as well. I really like this and hopefully will not run out before I find it again. This to me gets an 8.5 out of 10. I really love the sweet pepper vibe!

I love this fragrance but it doesn't last as long as I thought it would on me? Still a banger though. The opening is super pleasant, I get a creamy mildly citrusy rich suede in the opening and mid, but sometimes after a while, I will smell it and not be as happy with it... Almost turns into a strange pickle-kind of a smell?

This stuff is surprisingly good. It opens like a fresh spicy scent and dries down to this great warm spicy scent. I think this is very versatile. The longevity is pretty good, but I think it really only projects for maybe the first hour. I don't know, I just think this is worth a purchase for sure.

Honestly, looking at the notes it should be drastically different compared to the original First Instinct but on my skin they are not that far apart. I like them both. Both crowd pleaser, inoffensive and not too much A&F if you know what I mean.

Too many people saying that it’s “for younger people” Why put an age on it? It smells damn good. You can wear whatever you want, no matter what your age is if you just use it for the right situation/occasions.

Honestly smelled the dry down on JPG Le Beau Paradise Green vs this Dry down and while JPG has a better longevity there was still similarities in both. The openings are completely different tho.

IF YOU HAVE THE EDT, wear the edt during the day and layer this on after work in the spring and summer omg, you'll be like a bug zapper, attracting all the women lol

Thick, fruity, ozonic, and unique w/ diff fruit notes than other mainstream releases. Definitely has a youthful vibe to it and has the depth to be worn year round.

Super versatile masculine fragrance, one for the ages. Had to buy a backup bottle just in case this one ever happens to disappear..

Davidoff Cool Water Intense with some hints of Mont Blanc Legend Intense, very safe for daily use where I live (tropical climate)

First Instinct on steroids, or perhaps not? One could say that the spectacular nature of First Instinct led A&F to make our dream a reality: a more powerful and longer-lasting First Instinct. But often, expectations and reality are two different things. Extreme is a denser fragrance, where melon has been replaced by starfruit, a fruit with a more tart and green scent. It's closely accompanied by two types of pepper, wild and Sichuan, plus violet, so that the fragrance is ultimately consumed by a shimmering musk, cashmere, and a light coconut aroma. Compared to its predecessor, it's as if the order of priorities in First Instinct has been reversed. All the fresh, tropical scent has been replaced by a predominantly peppery and musky base, without any other notes. Extreme has a dry, sour, fruity opening, similar to First Instinct but without the youthful element. It's drier and less aquatic, allowing the pepper and musk to settle in, creating a very distinctive scent. It's almost identical to the scent of Rexona deodorants from the 2010s—a musky and white woody aroma, masculine and clean, with slight hints of coconut in the dry-down. In short, it smells like those men's deodorants from about 10 years ago: clean musk, white woods, and a very full-bodied cardamom, with a touch of that synthetic, masculine violet. It lasts an easy 8 hours, with strong projection for the first 2 hours, becoming more discreet for the next 6. It's a dense scent, noticeable to some extent. The aura is direct; the perfume greets you, leading the way rather than following you. It's a perfume made for cold weather, especially evenings. It works well in the office, a casual, masculine fragrance, always ready to go. It's not a scent that hides. It might feel less youthful than the previous First Instinct, but I think men of all ages can wear it. My rating is 2/4. I appreciate the perfume's originality, as it's not a clone of anything; it functions more as a flanker. However, several aspects detract from it. First, the deodorant-like scent can make it seem cheap, even more synthetic than its predecessor. While the potency is adequate, the perfume has lost its magic by becoming something that doesn't appeal to the innovative spirit of the line, but rather to what's safe. It's number 3 on my First Instinct list, only ahead of Together. It's something we all want, that's true, but perhaps Extreme just falls short of being a better attempt. I can recommend it if you love those men's deodorant scents; otherwise, there are better options, and within the same line, we have a gem.

Finally snagged a big 100ml bottle of this for $15. I still need to get the original first instinct plain. Being a fan of the other 2 first instinct/blue/together I figured id try to get the full set of 4. Extreme is not what I expected reading reviews and hearing people talk about it in reviews. I figured for sure itd have some base that reminds me of the other 2, being they are all named "first instinct". Extreme goes totally off the radar for that. Maybe after a long while dry down you can smell what equates to 10-15% similar to other first instincts, if your really familiar with the scent otherwise there is no immediate resemblance. Offer the atomizer before spraying : smells powdery, peppery, sweet/a tiny bit bubble gummy, and like a cashmere coconut. After spraying : Smells musky, that peppery smell for sure (its solid here compared to other scents), sweet, tropical/creamy woody/leathery. Dry down- This is where you can sorta of smell the 10-15% similar smell to the other first instincts. Makes you want to think "Is that abercrombie spray?" ---- Musky , still peppery, some sort of light sweetness/tropical Longevity is quite a while within a certain space. I sprayed a couple sprays on a hat in my room and came back like 4 hours later and could smell the scent in my room pretty much immediately. For the right price and if this isnt too much for your nose id say buy it for $15-20 and see what you think. Not what I expected, despite all the notes included in this one its well down and doesn't smell like someone mixed 2-3 different colognes together. I think this is the creaminess/peppery/sweetness done right compared to like hollisters freewave where its done wrong and all those notes are too strong over one another and it makes it smell more unisex. 11/1/2024 - UPDATE: It is semi weak after spraying it, it dies down pretty quick which is some how unbelievable how it just evaporates and becomes so light and barely noticable after a hour. If you smell the exact spot you might be able to still smell it but it doesnt linger on you where without trying you can smell it coming off your clothes/body. Still smells great

Oh woooow...this smells AWESOME! It feels like this is going to be a blind grab when I want that light, fresh happy feeling. Honestly, I did not expect this to smell THIS awesome... I picked it up today in Marshalls for $26 and i have zero regrets. Even with it's beautiful fruit blast...it's got the power behind that to last long! (Im guessing it's the strong Musk note in the base) I'd been wondering what I could layer my "Silver Luxe" with and I believe I now have the perfect candidate...they share Coconut and Amber notes and should complement each other. I may try to wear some out later tonight...heh...I'm sure the wife will complain but meh...curiosity is getting the best of me. (2 hours later...) Okay...confirmed that this fragrance is A-W-E-S-O-M-E!!! I sprayed two shots on my wrists before I left work...just to test it out on skin. The musk dies down nicely on skin and you get more of the fruity notes and lemme tell you...THIS FRAGRANCE PROJECTS MEGA HEAVY!!! On my way outta work my coworkers commented on the nice smell and I grinned. So I get home and commence working on my basement guest suite before the wife gets home. I'm working, drilling holes and mounting curtains and blinds and the wife comes home and comes down to the basement and immediately says... "Whoa...it smells great in here!!" That is all the endorsement I needed...right....there!!! Now get this, I drove home with the windows open and at 50+ mph and wasn't protective of the areas I sprayed on my wrists...so it got rubbed on the inside of the car, my ruck and whatever else I bumped into or handled. Most other fragrances I've worn get beat down from a full-blast window-open ride to or from work and seem to lose their potency. Not only is this fragrance durable, it projects and lasts long enough to be noticed! The fact that it didn't make my wife cough or sneeze is all the confirmation I needed. (Shes super sensitive to fragrances...PTSD from working the perfume counter in retail ages ago...lol) This fragrance goes into regular rotation!

This is "tropical" in a bottle I saw this on sale with a very good price and decided to blind buy it, due to the hype that Jeremy Fragrance gave to the original First Instinct of the line. The scent profile is tropical, very musky, slightly spicy light amber fruity bubblegum-ish dumb reach scent. Practically said, picture the entire notes from the note breakdown and put them all into a tropical beach which has a bubblegum air from a fan close by. It also has some kind of dusty fuzziness to it it's hard to explain I'm not a big fan of the strong musk used here This fragrance smells quite niche actually, it's got an unique fruityness to it, it's doesn't have the very mass appealing bubblegum aspect to it although a more complex one. It lasts exactly 6hrs on my skin and it projects very good for the price. Most people are writing that this is an all year round scent but I have to disagree, it's warm weather tropical scent for daytime but could cover the fall/autumn days too. The bottle design is the star of the show, psychedelic looking mirror-like with a nice grip, awesome cap too Although I don't like the atomizer, feels very cheap. I hope I'm not the one who's saying this but this is literally redundant to own if you already got Valentino uomo Born in Roma intense, I know their note breakdowns are not similar to each other at all but they both smell like 80% similar. I had Valentino BRintense and A&F First instinct extreme on different arms, and 2 people told me they smell very similar to each other. Since I like the appealing Valentino more, I don't reach for this fragrance much. Ambercrombie & Fitch First instinct Extreme: tropical, musky, bubblegum-ish, different smelling daily signature, amazing value and bottle design. For me it's a 7.75/10 to its redundancy in my collection, but objectively for its price, the rating would be higher

As others have said, it's a great dumb-reach, all-arounder, crowd-pleasing scent that smells good and won't offend anyone. I'm not sure about all the people saying this is fruity and fresh (only fruit even in the notes is starfruit), and I for sure would not define it as "tropical". I definitely get a spicy, sweet, warm vibe. Can definitely pick up most of the notes, mainly peppery, amber, suede, and musk with a light floral sweetness and maybe a faint hint of the coconut. Like sweet peppers (roasted bell peppers come to mind). Not what I would classify as a "freshie", but I do think it can be great for all weather and occasions. It might be a bit heavy for the hot summer days, but definitely wouldn't hesitate for a summer evening frag. I find performance kind of disappointing, especially considering it is a EDP. I get maybe 6 hours out of it if I'm lucky and projection for maybe an hour. For the price you can find it for (I believe I got mine for around $17 USD at a rack store), it's a no-brainer and a safe blind buy in my opinion. If you see it and need an easy, everyday frag, pick it up on the cheap and have no fears about spraying heavy.

#780 in my "Tour de Fragrance" When I first joined Fragrantica two years ago this scent was being mentioned in nearly every review of men's fragrances and now I know why. This is a nice, slightly tropical and spicy scent that just smells good, won't offend anyone, is car pool, elevator and office space safe, versatile for any wear. If you like aggressive scents this probably isn't for you. It's a little old fashioned, with some throwback to the Jovan Musk, Pierre Cardin and Drakkar Noir heydays, but I think fruity and spicy enough for modern wear. And you really cannot beat the price. I would probably spray this one on generously if you want it to get noticed because it's a very comforting, musky-ambery scent, and the sillage, even though good for a scent in this price range, doesn't assault your olfactory. Comforting scents tend to mostly get noticed at intimate ranges. I think it's a blind buy no brainer for the men.

I had the EDT version last year and that one is a big love for me and im expecting this one to be better. Unfortunately, this one didnt exceed my expectation. This one doesnt has the beautiful melon tonic cocktail squash like the EDT version which the most appealing point for AF First Instinct, instead they made the EDP more spicy and add more musk in it. Performance wise, this actually better than the original, the original last only about 3-4hrs on my skin but project better IMNO, this one stays around 6-7hrs with pretty good projection. Scent: 8 Projection: 7 Longetivity: 8 This is actually good tropical fruity musky, safe for every environments, but i still prefer EDT because the opening is much much better than this one.

Great night time summer scents that opens up with a versatile spicy-musk-coconut-fruity profile. I think it might perform just fine day time as well though I just find this sweet type of musk more attractive after sunset. It lasts for few hours and projects at decent length but it turns into a skin scent within an hour approximately. It dries down into a a subtle suede and musky amber. Well balanced fragrance if you like bleu de Chanel, Dylan Blue, Dior Sauvage and Prada Luna Rossa Ocean you most likely will enjoy this one. This hidden gem provides with a little bit of dna from each fragrance I just listed. It’s definitely a blue fragrance that might be a great addition to your collection. 8/10

This was a blind buy for me. After finding a lot of success with other A&F fragrances I decided to purchase this for $20. When I tried this it was amazing. It opens up with a very musky almost spicy scent with a tiny hint of fruit in there. After a few minutes of letting it sit, it becomes more joyful and sweet, like a lot of the A&F fragrances. This has great longevity and for the price point of 20$ and the fact that you can find it in many retailers such as Ross, TJ Max, and even Marshals. Definitely worth it if you are looking for a more sophisticated summer fragrance.

More sophisticated scent than it's little brother. The Eau de Toilette is sweeter and more tropical, while this musky First Instinct Extreme is stronger and masculine. The opening is very similar to the eau de toilette version, but with a little more spice. The heart is mainly violet leaf, amber and musk; similar to the Narciso Rodriguez for Him. It's a perfect colder weather cologne, very warm and cozy. It projects very well and lasts for most of the day. The base is tropical and sweet after a while with the coconut and cashmere kicking in. Very nice.

Pretty unique and a great signature. Though fresh and fruity, this has enough depth to be a cheap (in price only) signature for year-round wear. I enjoy this one very much for the fruitiness, versatility, and acceptance from people I come in contact with. For being this cheap, it's worth getting a bottle at ROSS - discounters are selling this and other First Instinct flankers at much higher prices. It has okay performance, but again, for what you're paying it is great bang for you buck!

First impressions are the opening smells amazing but at some point in the drydown there is a cinnamon-y smell that almost burns my nostrils. This doesn't last long though, only like 10-20 min. After about an hour it smells like a fresh spicy cowboy hat without the tobacco. It's pretty unique and I cant tell yet how long it lasts and I haven't gone out to recieve compliments, but for $20 that opening is so worth it. Spray in your room on your sheets and then come back in 5 minutes.

First fragrance I try from this brand, very mainstream crowd pleaser. It’s smells clean sweet with some darkness to it. I got it really inexpensive under $30 so it was worth a try. I do like the scent but in my opinion it is not great on performance but for that price you can’t expect much. It’s a nice cheapy to have on hand to run errands, daily office wear, it is very easy to wear. So it would be an 8/10 based on price, scent, performance and wearability.

Abercrombie delivered a scent to keep up with the current industry. A sweet and fresh fragrance that is very approachable. 60-70% close to Bleu de Chanel Parfum; however Abercrombie’s Instinct Intense Extreme doesn’t have the top candied bergamot note I usually pickup in BdC. Don’t understand some of the hate in the comments. If you like Dior Savauge and BdC, you will like this.
