Acqua di Parma Gelsomino Nobile

**Once again I "tip my hat" to the generous ElenaLondon, for the lovely gift of a carded sample of this, which (at the time of this review) is a Harrod's London exclusive. Cheers, dear!** Notes, and description (from AdP sample card): "A unique and sophisticated fragrance that celebrates Calabrian Jasmine, a noble ingredient used in classic perfumery. A blend of: Italian Mandarin, Pink Peppercorns, Tuberose, Orange Blossom, Jasmine, Cedar Wood and Musk." This is the first AdP woman's scent I have sniffed; and I must say it is lovely! Jasmine comes right at you out of the sprayer, not heavy or thick just sweet and heavenly...dreamlike, on a soft nocturnal breeze. The mandarin orange does lend a bit of fruity clarity to this, and the pink pepper adds a subtle warmth and savoriness. It is like Lady Jasmine is strolling through her garden. She is the Mistress here, surrounded by bright, sunny citric blossoms and a slightly smoky tuberose. This perfume makes me feel like I am out of doors on a beautiful temperate evening, perhaps at a Garden Party chatting with lovely people at a very classy villa or country house. Surrounding this soiree are tall strong noble cedar trees, aromatic and warm with shady green boughs and the faintest hint of musk is on the wind, not animalic or "pissy", just natural and enticing. Gelsomino Nobile (noble jasmine) is a very appropriate name for this scent. Naturally beautiful, poised and very very elegant. If you are a jasmine lover, (as I am) you simply MUST smell this refined and stunning take on one of the most used flowers in perfumery, that is anything but common. Sillage: good Longevity: very good Overall: 4/5 On reading the notes (and before actually trying this) my first thought was "Eeh, again...REALLY?!?". After spritzing and sniffing its obviously natural essence oils, combined by a skilled hand and learned nose; I can say this is one of the best homages to jasmine, surrounded by the perfect accents, I have sniffed. AdP is one of those houses that may cost more...but, trust me, it is worth it! NB: This perfume very feminine, but I find it to be just balanced enough to wear myself. Though scents are intrinsically gender-neutral, this is definitely one slanted more towards for the ladies (or a guy who is not ashamed of his "feminine" side): slightly sweet, VERY floral and subtly woody. Amazing...

8 sprays - chest, wrists, neck, hair Initial impression was wow what is that. It strangely smells white floral like Jasmine, and leather, but not the light but sharp leather from perfumes like AP Maitrese. This is strong and projects. My husband was able to smell me about 15 feet away, and asked what the scent was. 5min- the Jasmine/leather note still continues. The cedar provides the scent an incredible masculine edge. Coworker also says it smells lovely. 30 min- the scent is linear but wonderful. It's unique, feminine, but very edgy. 1hr- the Jasmine leather note continues. I can detect the mandarin slightly. 3hrs- Still going strong with the edgy Jasmine, Mandarin, and the leather note that I smell. On a business flight, and the gentleman next to me in the plane says I smell amazing and asks me what I'm wearing. The male air hostess agrees. I've never been complimented this quickly by strangers on a perfume. Probably one of the sexiest scents I've smelled. It reminds me of TM Alien, but with a twist on the Jasmine. It's got the woodiness in the Jasmine like Alien, which I think is from the cedar, but the mandarin orange adds something spectacular. It's equally sexy to alien (if not sexier). 5hr- The scent is still going although a bit lighter and the cedar has come out more while the Jasmine had faded a bit. I'm still in love. 8hr- Scent has died quite a bit but the cedar notes are still there. I can't smell it much, but cohort who was 3 feet away says she smelled it. 10hrs- The fragrance has completely died, or so I thought. I step out outside to get to my hotel, and suddenly smell a metallic Jasmine. Looks like it's still lingering. Smell: 9.5/10 (so fresh, woody, and unique) Sillage: 9/10 (you will leave a trail, and many will get waves of it when you move) Longevity: 9/10 (lasted 10 hours despite scent becoming faint) Conclusion: I love this as Alien was one of my favorite perfumes until too many girls began wearing it. This is equally sexy but with an edge. It's not as long lasting as Alien, however longer lasting than most perfumes. Amazing perfume!

I wish I bought a backup bottle as soon as I found out they were discontinuing this and Iris Nobile. I have all five EDPs from the line and they went and discontinued my two favorites. At least I have Iris backups. I love jasmine in all it's many forms. This is my special "Italian chic" jasmine. It's crisp and not as heady as one would associate with a white floral. While it can be worn all year, it shines best in the warmth of spring and early summer. Of course I blame LVMH for the decision to discontinue. I am going to have to be selective about when I choose to wear this, and do my best to preserve the quality of what remains now. There's no use in complaining about it. LVMH makes decisions based strictly on the bottom line, do once a fragrance is gone, it's gone. I see it is now selling on eBay in the $450 range. That should tell them something about the demand. If they had to "break up the band", any of the remaining three would have been fine for me, especially the Peony and Rose, which smell almost exactly the same in my opinion. EDIT - I see I already commented on my disappointment over this discontinuation. I almost deleted my new entry, but I'll let it stand as a testament to my frustration over the loss! 🌸

I met him in Paris, in the loveliest Le Marais near place des Vosges. He was Italian, but he felt free competing with French. I’ve got a new girlfriend Juliette who Has a Gun, I can play different roles with her, being Romantina, Lady Vengeance or even Mad Madame. And others... This is a crisp, fresh and festive jasmine with some green undertones. Gelsomino Nobile takes me to a royal garden on a chill spring morning, in another era, where time stands still. A lemonade is waiting for me, but I don't care as I'm completely absorbed by a herbarium and some old books. I don't find it vintage, or old school, but there is something timeless and carefree in it and I blame the natural, high quality ingredients. Not creamy, gently sweet-but it's an elusive sweetness, genderless - because I cannot describe the woman wearing this, she's not vulgar, nor is she innocent, she doesn't want to stand out, yet utterly beautiful, you have no choice but to admire her because you cannot get close to her. Not enough complexity for a full bottle, I would have enjoyed more richness to it, although it has a weird aftersmell (I don't know if that's a thing), like the first breath of air is sweet after you take your nose out of your arm. Longevity 6-8h, soft sillage for 2-3h.

Second review: I know I said in the first review that it's not complex enough to buy it. I was wrong, not everything has to be complex. But, I found it at a very good price, almost 50%off, so I ordered it after I sprayed myself with the last drops of my sample. Literally minutes after I confirmed the order, my father calls me to say that my mother is having a stroke and we took her to the hospital. I hope I'm not going to have bad memories with this, mother is ok now, but it was remarkable how I contained myself during the emergency state, and part of it I attribute to Gelsomino, I felt extremely confident and hopeful that everything will be ok, that's just a bad dream that I can control and make things better. 3-4 days after the event I was craving it like crazy, I had olfactory hallucinations/impressions that I smell it without the smell being present. My yard is filled with beautiful honeysuckle now and somehow it reminds me of Gelsomino, without smelling like it.

This is such a gorgeous fragrance, clean and elegant white floral. It's sweet and creamy at the same time, perfect for daytime use but could also work on a summer evening, if applied more generously or potentially layered with something a bit stronger and/or more masculine. I imagine it would smell great blended with a precious woody base. The only downside are the sillage and lasting power. But especially the sillage. Acqua di Parma is on a medium to higher end brand, so I would expect they give a little more "pump" to their fragrances. It's a pity, because this is a great and versatile perfume, smells expensive and it's a very elegant perfume even if casual, so it shouldn't become a skin scent a couple of hours after spraying.

This is one of the few jasmine fragrances that I can wear without smelling utterly feminine. Being as though jasmine is the king of flowers, Gelsomino Nobile is perfect for me, a man.. What a superb blend this is. My skin amps up the base notes. The top notes remain present through the development and this jasmine is decidedly green on my skin. In my opinion, this is one of the most creative jasmine-dominant creations since 24 Faubourg and Alien. Longevity is outstanding, even in Kuwait's heat. The sillage is polite, intoxicating in a breeze. If there was ever a jasmine fragrance for a man to consider, it's Gelsomino Nobile. P.S. - I'm pretty sure it's gorgeous on women, too.. :D

I have several aqua di Parma Nobile line perfumes, also magnolia and peony but Gelsomino is my favorite. It has some sparkle to it that makes it so perfect. Not sure if it’s the pepper or something else but it makes this perfume so distinguished and yes, noble. Sadly, it’s discontinued and my bottle is almost finished too... so I’m trying to save it. And no, I don’t think Grand Ball by Dior is similar. Yeah, white flowers and all but they’re sooooo different. I have an old Grand Bal version (2014 maybe?) and it’s much more sweet and smooth, it’s a night scent where Gelsomino has some peppery freshness and sparkling to it and could be an every day perfume.

Just received a bottle of this beautiful, Italian, golden sunshine! What a gorgeous, clean jasmine. It's jasmine right from the top. Oddly, to me it seems that the mandarin only begins to peek through as it starts to dry down slightly, perhaps augmented by the orange blossom. I do not get any pepper at all! I need to wear this a few more times to get a really sense of the structure, but this has already replaced Ikat Jasmine as my go to summer jasmine scent. I love it!! EDIT - Ooooh! Here comes the tuberose, and she is actually behaving!!

One that made me fall in love with perfume. My large collection started because of this. This is the most beautiful, elegant and feminine scent. Only perfume that got me constant compliment. It is not loud, but people can smell you when they are close. I have not smelled anything similar yet. It smells a bit like Jasmin tea without the bitterness. It only lasts couple hours and I usually spray 8-10. I only have a few drops left of it and I will cherish it forever. I'm so sad it's discontinued.

Gelsomino Nobile is such a harmonious scent! I always picture blooming summer garden when I smell it. Perfection. It is sophisticated, timeless and classy perfume that will go well in any season and any time of the day. My new fav :) Update: I'm wearing it very often now and I'm very happy with it. Got a lot of compliments from both women and men. It has moderate projection, so it's never intrusive but it lasts quite long (at least on my skin) and it is classy and very feminine scent. J'adore!

I am lost for words as this is so beautiful. Thank you to a wonderful Fragrantica member (MrsLetterO) I have been in perfume heaven. She sent me quite a few samples including some from Acqua de Palma a house of perfumes new to me. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful a very feminine classy perfume. It is the first perfume that my husband really likes. I know what I will be asking for birthday and Christmas this year.

The best caption of jasmine, ever!!!!! It intoxicates and transports me to places. Not dirty, not earthy, nothing animalic. Just pure flower of jasmine with all its natural sweetness. How could they discontinue this one??? This and the Iris is best of Parma range, yet those two who had to go?!!! As far as I know there is nothing like this on the market.

Have to say it. The decision to discontinue this and Iris Nobile is a crime. This is a stunning jasmine, and I consider the release of Iris to have been an industry game changer. I have all five, and these two are my faves. Magnolia is in the middle, and I can completely do without Rosa and Peonia if I wasn't such a freak about owing collections!!

Feminine, clean, and oh so floral. It smells like the ultimate garden. There is a soapy quality to it, but its more like you took a walk in a garden after a shower soapy then in the shower lathering up soapy. This for me is an "Oh Wow!" fragrance. Adore it, and would recommend for a summer wedding (as a guest or the bride!)

The best! Perfect jasmine, soft and long-lasting. Super feminine. I wish I had bought this perfume on my trip to Italy this year. It's haunting me ... Well, stupid is who stupid does. Guerlain AA Jasminora is very similar though. I may end up buying it instead, because AdP is very difficult to find in my country. *****

This is my go-to spring/summer scent! It's so fresh and floral, but not overpowering. The mandarin orange and pink pepper give it a lovely brightness, while the jasmine, tuberose and orange blossom create this beautiful, sophisticated floral heart. It lasts all day and gets compliments everywhere I go.

For some reason, it smells like warm creamy jasmine 'tea' to me. Very calming. I don't get that crisp of real flower. It's richer & bold. Last 8 hours with moderate to good projection. Just two sprays is enough to smell myself quite strong for hours. Will get headache if you over spray

This is a very beautiful Jasmine. Period.It is lovely in it's simplicity, a flower garden after the rain. I loved it for the 3 hours I could smell it... then it was GONE.It reminds me of MK Glam Jasmine and I wish I would have saved some pennies and bought the MK!
