Vanille Ravageuse

This is my first Adopt' fragrance. I tested many others, and most of them smell very musky, simple, more on the synthetic side. Vanille Ravageuse smells like a niche fragrance. It smells very boozy, reminiscent of oak whisky barrels and gourmand rum, with lots of vanilla amber. My first amber loves were Lutens' Ambre Sultan and Parfum d'Empire's Ambre Russe, and Vanille Ravageuse feels like a more accessible version of these ambers. I have many backups, and have worn it continuously for the past two years.

I loooooooove this one. I used up half the bottle in maybe two months, which is NOT my usual pace. Salty, boozy, smells more expensive than it is. It became my new everyday frag.

I smelled this one on a whim and couldn't forget about it. I had to go back for it within days, and with the price point, I did so immediately. It's such a great autumn and winter fragrance, cozy, warm, boozy, sweet and mature but not 'old'. I don't smell too much vanilla, but the amber and the cognac make up for it beautifully. Pick this one up if you want to smell warm, inviting and comforting. It honestly feels like a warm hug. For its price it's INCREDIBLE. I struggle to pinpoint it's longevity though - some days it feels like it walks with me all day long, on others it's gone a little sooner - still, for this price, it's wonderful. I just wish it was available in bigger bottles. The silliage isn't super strong but it is noticable. Overall, I really recommend.

Adopt doesn't make utterly refined things; its fragrances are straightforward, simple, and chainsaw-cut rather than carefully polished. You either like it or you don't. In this case, Adopt is at its best, having been able to create a glorious, glittering, powerful vanilla with a solid base of warm woody spices. It radiates, no place for shyness, no time for introversion. It's a winter metallic vanilla, tinged with cinnamon rolls, amber liquor and Christmas waffles, that invites you for a walk in the snow or to hide cozily under the covers, and not necessarily alone.

I agree Adopt offer simplistic, high quality cheapies. This one is no exception - it's a slightly boozy mixture of amber and vanilla. Very comforting and easy-reach but still with some character. It reminds me of Grand Soir, but stripped off of its 'barbershop' notes and therefore far more feminine. Nothing that would mesmerize me but still recommended. A good introduction to amber as well.
