Maximum

For $7-15 its a 10/10. I used this fragrance for a few years in early highschool so it will always have a place in my collection. Smells like an old wooden boat on the ocean great scent. Projection ect is not great. If this ever becomes discontinued and rises in price, I do not see myself buying this for anything over $50. Many aero/a&f ect fragrances follow down this path.

Just came in the mail--seems as though my bottle is from a 2016 batch. Purchased after seeing posts comparing it to Hollister Drift which I also own and refuse to spray unless it is a very special occasion. Opening was somewhat harsh but I am really enjoying the dry down. Smells similar to some of the CK men's fragrances I've been testing recently but less floral which is great for me. I see this being a skin scent which also suits me as I just want something subtle for everyday during the spring/summer. Definitely nostalgic in a way. Aromatic sheen with a hint of geranium without feeling weighed down by the base notes. I took a risk by choosing something without a wood element and am very pleased! Nothing compares to Drift in my opinion but I welcome this as an alternative for consistent use.

After I first smelled this I wasn’t too sure about liking it at all, now that it has grown on me I feel like it is a perfect fragrance on a low budget. Feels fresh but too similar to something you’d smell often. To me it feels similar to Tommy Bahamas Martinique and was just initial impression when I first put this on. Overall I’d rate this about 7.5/10 for a good smell and something which doesn’t dent your pocket. The lasting on this is surprisingly good even though the sillage isn’t strong I’ve still gotten compliments with this and also been told that the scent leaves a strong trail. Finally don’t blind buy unless you try first. 👍🏻

Has some similarities to Fierce and Tommy, kind of along the same lines anyway. I like this one, but it is probably my 3rd favorite out of the 4-pack sampler I bought. The best 2 are not on fragrantica yet, Discover and Supreme.

A blue scent. Not to aggressive. It’s fresh but will likely become a skin scent very quickly. 30 min - 1 hour of performance if that’s what you need. No worse than $70 bottles of blues that perform similarly imo.

For some reason, this fragrance and others by Aeropostale seem to stay on my skin for about 5-6 hrs. This is fresh but not groundbreaking. Price makes it worthwhile for a summer scent.

Having the previous Maximum 1987 Cologne, which I bought in 2013 and now sits extensively aged and sweeter that it was originally, I must say this is a slightly darker take on it most likely due to a higher concentration, but it is the best substitute for the currently 125-$200 Cologne. A balanced manly scent which takes me to simpler times, green with a contemporary -which to some might feel like a cheap- twist, moderately long lasting but without much sillage, would use it more but it turns skanky in my usual extremely hot humid weather and it doesn't have a place in the extreme cold either, but good for cooler outings or office days. I love it but I'm partial to this DNA, probably a 4/5 for everyone else. Will edit when I get Fierce, Drift or one of the Curves, fingers crossed!

Not as good as I remember. To me it smells like they mixed the old maximum with the rubber bottom with something else to try and make it smell Fierce by Abercrombie. Kinda disappointing. But I got it for 7 bucks so I can’t complain

Originally, a few years ago I smelled fresh soil. The last 4 bottles were skanky and sandalwood sweaty, The dry down was worse. It went from lemon sweat to all day basketball in a hot gym. Nasty. Trying to give away these bttles but they are still sitting in the mens room after two weeks, For free yet......

Years ago when I was about 12-15, I’m 31 now, I used to wear Drift by Hollister. Ah how I loved it. Aquatic, green, musky, sandalwoody...so so nice. It got discontinued and I grew older and moved on to other things. But I have thought about Drift for years. During 2019 I started becoming interested in fragrances and amassing my own collection by trying things and finding well priced bottles. This scent came to mind a few times when I re-discovered Fierce. Not that they smell the same, I mean that share some similarities, but I had forgotten about mall fragrances. Sometimes they really made some masterpieces, and personally I think Drift was one (I wish I could smell an official bottle now, to see if I still agree with myself) that was sadly forgotten. I’ve searched high and low for well priced bottles. Finding a bottle is so incredibly rare that I’ve been expecting to pay a decent price if it seemed worth it, but it never came my way. I did some research and found that this is similar. Similar? This is almost identical, if only I still had some Drift to compare. But when I first sprayed it, many memories flooded back. I even saw a shirt that I had doused in Drift, cause I didn’t wash it for a few weeks (teenage boy lol) and it always smelled great during that time. The only thing this Maximum is missing is...PERFORMANCE. I can now smell it after I have done, and I shit you not...about 20-30 sprays. The first 3 sprays...gone in what felt like 3 mins. So sad. But it’s a brand new bottle, I’m gonna give it some time to see if it macerates and becomes stronger. If it doesn’t, I spent $16 so really nothing lost. But I will also be reaching out to my fav dupe companies to beg them to do this but with actual projection and silage that lasts. 🥀 Came back to say that it actually does last for about 5-6 hours if not sometimes longer on skin. And sometimes it does project, but overall I want one of my fav dupe houses to make a better one because it mostly sits close to the skin.

Very green without being too sharp. Definitely fresh and aquatic, but I do not get a blue fragrance vibe. The Curve comparison is fair but mainly in how the scent wears rather than its profile per se. Spring and summer appropriate, the amber is not of a sweet variety if and when it shows up in the heat. Under $20 USD is a good deal, under $15 is better. Nothing ground breaking but not a bad grab for warmer days in place of a blue freshie to break with routine.

I had this when I was a teenager. Back then it was in a wide, clear, glass bottle with rubber footing on the bottom half. Got compliments on it back then. Probably became a man because of this stuff. I see listings for the old version I had for $150. It's not even close to worth that much. I don't remember how it smells, but I remember it smelling really good.
