Liz Claiborne Curve Cologne opens with a very pleasant combination of mostly pineapple, juniper berries, and lavender. The initial projection is very good, the notes are crisp and aromatic. The pineapple feels evocative of the actual fruit, slightly sweet and sharp; the juniper berries add a fruity and woody accord; the lavender adds its floral clean-like accord; the neroli adds a soft bitterness and the lemon enhances the pineapple notes rather than becoming an isolated note. As the fragrance commences to dry-down, several woody accords join the blend adding depth; the vetiver, cactus, and ginger boost the accords by introducing a spicy and green tone. Other tones are there to support an enhance but don’t come up as prominent. The transition from the opening to the dry-down is relatively linear, the opening notes continue into the dry-down enhanced by the various notes included in this fragrance. Once Liz Claiborne Curve Cologne has reached its full dry-down, it can be summarized as a moderate projection, slightly sweet, pineapple, juniper berry, lavender, and woody fragrance with green and soft floral accords. The fragrance feels aromatic, casual, clean, cool, diurnal, energizing, fresh, high-quality inviting, masculine but not for much, natural, nicely blended, playful, relaxing, sparkly, sporty, slightly sweet, unique, versatile, and very pleasant. Terre D’Hermes Eau Tres Fraiche is a good woody aromatic fragrance with earthy and citrus accords; Abercrombie & Fitch Instinct Extreme features starfruit, and violet, a clean-like fragrance; YSL Y Live EDT or Parfum, featuring fresh fruity and woody accords; SUMMARY: A moderate projection, slightly sweet, pineapple, juniper berry, lavender, and woody fragrance with green and soft floral accords. Curve for Men: Aromatic Green/Jean Claude Delville 1996 Notes: Top: Pineapple, juniper berries, lavender, neroli, lemon Middle: Coriander, ginger, violet, CACTUS, sage, bergamot, cardamom Base: Sandalwood, amber, musk, vetiver, cedar, mahogany, pepper First off--CACTUS SO EXCITING-- and I think I might smell it in the sharp, green, "planty-ness" of the open. It quickly settles into an abstract ocean-foam aquatic note. Not salty aquatic. No aquatic listed. Maybe the juniper, cactus, clary sage combine. Maybe it is in there and not listed, who knows? Honestly, it is like ocean foam bubbles when I used to go body surfing all the time as a kid. This is really just delightful because I have not explored aquatic yet. As for the pineapple this scent may be an early comer: Curve used Pineapple in 1996, Creed Aventus in 2010. Fresh, initially sharp, fast drydown with a mysterious heft, almost steamy graininess, to the aroma so natural and maybe aquatic. Skin scent real fast. Nearly nothing in time. This can have its advantages for planning your fragrance use. It is NOT a disadvantage. This fragrance was a huge, huge hit--big enough for Revlon. Windowpane sport coats were so hot back then and were truly gorgeous. Liz Claiborne had these beauties. So expensive as I recall. The Fragrance: Should you buy it? Yes, just with some fun money. This is not a somber collection-building purchase. This is fun--zany fun with some serious hotness thrown into it. This is a kind of weird, poppin', gorgeous green-- just for fun purchase. Aromatic is too simple a description, it is more a feeling. From over a foot I can sense off of my arm a strange, grainy steaminess of plant kingdom. In time it vanishes. What the heck am I saying? So weird. Side Rant: I have a whole section in my collection of fun, inexpensive, and creative bursts. Juicy Couture(Regency Collection, Oui, Malibu) Liz Claiborne(Appeal too) Paris Hilton( Heir,also For Men, Gold Rush, With Love-alittle too feminine, maybe) FILA, Dunhill( I have most all--toe to toe with any of them out there) Packaging(Exceptional Quality of Materials): This bottle is so cheery. It is heavy and feels so good to hold. Gold cursive states in bold, top- quality gold-- 'Curve'. It gracefully splashes across the face. Box is gold, gold, gold and looks so much like--what? Gold! Mandarin orange dots all over it. Mandarin orange cardboard box liner with stiff tabs, heavy gauge. An orange, tough polymer type ring has a pull for easy removal--freeing the atomizer. It will not break, it is well made. Atomizer is one of the better, and aperture is mandarin orange plastic. You can see it. Details spoken here. Quality Faux Gold utilized here. Just really unique for its time and brings a fun attitude not found these days. Recommend you rig up a nice travel decant--hit it hard with the main bottle, then boost often. Sounds like I'm talkin' about somethin' else.

Every fragrance has a story. I tell this story to my friends that know I'm into fragrances. Summer 2001 and I'm working in an upscale/trendy clothing store. Helped a gentleman pick out some clothing...must have been in his 40's. I've been in retail about 5 years at this time and have smelled many fragrances on co-workers and customers. The only time I ever asked someone what they were wearing was when I worked at Brooks Brothers and followed a gentleman around the store until I mustered up enough courage to ask him what he was wearing (Joop). I didn't want to be on a wild goose-chase trying to figure out what this guy was wearing so I asked him as he was about to leave the store. He said his daughter bought it for him and didn't know. A couple minutes later he came back to the store and told me it was Curve. Perfect! I was going to a bar with a couple of my friends that evening and stopped by Kohl's to see if they had Curve....yep! Success! I met up with everyone at my friends house and unwrapped it. I began to spray it outside and a few of my other friends asked if they could use some as well. Sure, why not! Car ride to the bar.....man, this doesn't smell anything like what the guy wore. Oh well, maybe it smells different in the air. No comments at the bar from anyone....nothing really eventful happened. Next day at work I worked the closing shift so I wore Curve again. I worked with a lot of beautiful women my age and knew they would tell me if I smelled good or not. Not long after I started work, I'm folding sweaters with one of the girls I worked with and she told me I smelled like Curve! Yep!! She then goes "Why are you wearing perfume? Did you meet a girl last night"? I told her no and why she would say that. She said because she has Curve perfume and I smell just like it!!! I'm like....."Is your bottle clear"? She said "Yep"!!! Oh crap, I bought the perfume...not the cologne!!!! Went back to Kohl's and picked up the cologne the next day!!! The summer of 2001 and 2002 I wore this a lot and created some amazing memories I will never forget. I can spray this and be taken immediately back to this time and I hope those feelings never fade away. I've gone through at least 5 bottles of this and the performance isn't anything like what it used to be....but I do have a bottle that's around 10ish years old and performs well. I will always have this with me and hope they never discontinue it. I think this is an excellent entry level fragrance for young boys/girls who just want to smell good! Cheers!!

My husband has Fierce, and I just picked this up for him the other day. Well...I didn't realize this was of any relation to Fierce (I bought it because I also bought myself Curve for women), but Fierce is one of my favorites of all time for men. Consequently, so is this now too. What can I say? I'm a Millennial woman. 😌🙃 I don't want this entire review to be a comparison, but at some level I cannot help it, in my life Fierce made it's presence known first, so I'm perceiving this from that vantage point. I literally have the bottles out and have sprayed them both. Both open with a brisk, clean, bracing, albeit synthetic fruit. From the jump Curve is softer, and hints toward more spice, but Fierce reveals it's intention of drying down into the aggressive laundry musk (almost metallic) that it does. Curve takes a more meandering, soft (fitting, given the name), rounded approach. There's more spice, yes, I smell a little cinnamon and the texture of violet melding with cardamom - plushy. "Plushy" could never be applied to Fierce IMHO, as it feels almost scratchy. I truly do love both, but they are different enough not to be redundant. Curve also feels warm in a sweeter way, whilst Fierce is warm, but more like hot cotton. There's almost something vanillic within Curve, something that is to be discovered and potentiated by skin chemistry. Fierce always feels like it sits *over* my husband's (or anyone else I ever smelled wearing it) skin - like an extention of clothing itself. Curve is more intimate both is sillage, but also in the emotive meaning/feeling of the word. I'm not trying to be diplomatic, I lean toward Fierce about 10% more, but both absolutely have their place. Curve is overall a safer option, more introverted, more sensitive, warmer, and smoother. Fierce is more assertive. However, if you like one, you'll probably like the other. Also, I see how this men's version of Curve is complimentary toward the women's; they both contain a similarly soft, sandalwoody base. And on that subject, I am pleased to say, it's a 90s-2000s sandalwood, not the Santal 33-esque picklewood of modern times. Overall, this is an amazing budget fragrance and feels skillfully constructed. It's hard to even pinpoint all of the notes, because it's smooth. I think it's aged beautifully, and only feels dated in a cool, throwback way, not in a tacky way whatsoever. I enjoy this more than the vast majority of newer releases for guys.

I'm very impressed by Curve. I knew Legend Intense by Mont blanc first then Chanel platinum Egoist and now Curve that I received in the mail 3 days ago, so I own all 3. Honestly there is a similarity but they are very different fragrances. I don't wear Platinum Egoist anymore as there is a metallic note that I don't like at all. I wasn't sure about it at first but once I seat next to a friend who was wearing Platinum Egoist and the metalic note consfirmed it smelled nasty/pungent to me. I never wore PE again since that day. I was shopping for other fragrances on a popular website and so curve so cheap that I bought it too just to have it in colection but wasn't expecting anything. Was I wrong! People say Platinum Egoist is a step up from Curve but for me it's the exact opposite! I like Curve a lot, it's soft and elegant enough to be worn in my office with my suit and when I smell it side by side with PE, PE is just disguqting to me. Don't make me wrong, I loved platinum Egoist when I bought it 2 years ago but since I've learned that it is just a decent introduction into fragrances. I don't know if it's the lemon but something in it is so sharpe that it disgusts me. I'm glad I discoved curve, it's even sexy and I can wear it at night whereas I've never worn PE at night for a date or something because women don't like the pungent note in it (this was my impression and I asked several female friends who confirmed). This is for the recent formula of curve and it has very decent longevity (around 6 hours on me). I can't tell for the projection yet, though. I didn't talk at all about Legend intense by Mont blanc but I don't wear this one neither anymore since I discovered better frangrances since I bouht it but I wear Curve so yes, maybe I will do the same and won't wear curve anymore after some time but right now I can tell you I think curve smell better than the other two. Smell: Curve> Legend intense > Platinum Egoist Longevity: Legend intense > Platinum Egoist=Curve Projection: Legend intense > Platinum Egoist = Curve (but I'm not quite sure yet about the projection of Curve. For now I feel like it's quite the same as PE).
