Muskethanol

Very beautiful musky / flowers smell with hints of greenish flowers

A very green (celery) like fragrance! Not sure what to think.....I blind bought this because it was on sale! It is different from the other perfumes that I own but just not sure when and where would I wear this. The sillage (stays close to the skin and not as strong as some of the other aether perfumes) and longevity (it lasts 3 hours on the skin) is moderate. There is something comforting about this perfume, that also brings in a connection to the Earth. Maybe will try wearing it in my yoga and meditation practice.

I don't know if it's 'the power of suggestion', but this perfume makes me think of hot sand. Muskethanol is a warm, dry, peppery, slightly sweet, woody scent. It becomes more musky and ambery with time; I can also pick up some fruity nuances. In the deep dry-down it develops into dark woody, almost smoky scent, that stays close to the skin. This fragrance is unusual yet wearable. 100% unisex. And it can be worn all year round. I really enjoy it on my skin.

for me, it kind of smells like paper and sand (not in a bad way thanks to the slight sweetness of the fruit) but it's extremely weak, i just sprayed it and it's almost gone

In 2013, this would have been in my collection. In present day, a fragrance damn near have to be a foreign object to sit on my shelf. To my chagrin, this isn't the martian i'm in search for. In all fairness, this wasn't meant to have a smorgasbord of notes, otherwise it probably wouldn't be called Muskethanol. Somebody will love this and that I'm sure of. This actually starts off very alcoholic with a light wood texture. As it settles, musk starts to appear followed by a peppery haze. Once those fruity notes become visible, the floral facets appear alongside creating a smell that reminds me of the aroma from the Del Monte fruit cocktail. This is what i would classify as scarf cologne. If you apply this to your skin, you will be pissed off with the results. All in all this is respectable and likely a medalist for the musk genre.

This one was a little more straightforward than the other scents in this series/line. I got a stock wood, semi-bleached and not at all specific – seriously, just a stock wood. There is a little bit of musk-resin in there, too, with a tinge of floral sweetness, but overall, it comes across a little bland. I am aware that this label tends to focus more on the synthetic, and doesn’t hide it, but I found this one a little disappointing, I must say. Light on and rather flimsy, design-wise. It has about 3 or 4 feet in different camps, and neither foot is sure it wants to be there.
