Amberythme

So, I've worn this fragrance a few times, and I only have one word to describe it....SEXY. It is very warm and very rich. You get a nice lovely balance between the floral and the sweetness. The amber is present throughout the whole wear of the fragrance, and its front and center the whole time . It's kind of like the amber is the lead vocalist, and the florals and vanilla/tonka are the background singers. You get a bit of the earthiness later on which is nice. More cedar than the others. The part that impressed me the most is the longevity of this perfume is just incredible. It stayed on my skin all day and wore down, but was not weak, even at the end of the day. The scent filled the room and people kept asking me what I was wearing, or "something smells really good." or "where is that smell coming from." The down side is that it's pricey, but with the way this holds up and the compliments I got on it are honestly worth it. I got it on sale for $120 for the big bottle. I would wear this out on a date, to dinner, night out in the city/town, intimate moments, formal events, or a club night.

People are so full of nonsense on this site. Scent is subjective, for sure. Performance is decidedly NOT subjective. I have an August/2023 batch of this fragrance and it is just as strong if not even a tad stronger than my London made batch of Thomas Kosmala's Apres L'Amour and that's probably the 3rd strongest fragrance I have not including this one. So now it'll be knocked down to fourth. This stuff is incredibly strong, equal to Savauge Elixir in performance. In scent profile it's like adding cinnamon and a hint of sweetness to BR540 eau de parfum, not the thicker extrait. If you enjoy the profile as much as I do then this is one to grab for sure. Ouddiction is also very nice. Also, it definitely has a slightly masculine lean due to the cinnamon and amber accords, so be weary of the claims of bad performance because they are ridiculous, and I don't think it's going to be the choice of too many women. Just be aware of those things.

I really wanted to love this. Commodity Milk is one of my top 5 fragrances and I was hoping to add another beauty like it to my collection. All these reviews are stellar and it seems folks really like this. Unfortunately for me, I do not like it at all. It's definitely long wearing, clinging to skin, bedding and clothes for hours and hours- long after you've showered and laundered. There is a note in this fragrance, that to me, smells of goats and wet hay. Or perhaps the after taste of goat cheese. It smells like old paper that someone spilled vanilla extract on years ago. I also get a twinge of playdoh. I really wish I smelled all the lovely notes folks are getting. Fragrantica shows this as animalic, and I get it. This is so unpleasant to my nose. I will be gifting it immediately.

Excellent!! I, like many of us, have gotten the ick from the overuse, over-dupe, and over-spray of the OG formulation but this impression is truly lovely. It is heavenly! I've heard someone say this is a combo of BR540/T.F Lost Cherry/Milk by Commodity and I can pick them all up in this fragrance. I love to smell great without people being able to pinpoint what exactly they are smelling and the only reason I don't grab for this as much is b/c it smells so closely to BR540. People have found a way to cheapen such a brilliant scent profile and I feel self-conscious wearing this now. It's silly for sure. This ish is fire so it's coming back out this spring!!! It's lighter, more airy, and not as suffocating as the OG.

To my nose this is a nice reminder to my favorite lost in a dream fragrance. It has br540 vibes and that will last on me for about 10 minutes. I get the khamra vibes but here it is way more refined. Smooth. Khamra is really sharp and overwhelming while this one has an airy quality to it. Really amazing blend as well. I expect it to get better in terms of longevity or projection the longer it sits. It's a tad sweeter than lost in a dream but still is very close to it. Never smelled angels share so can't comment on that. But yes, I love this one. Will gladly repurchase.

Straight out of the box, this perfume had me on a chokehold! I LOVE IT! It’s creamy cinnamon-y vanilla with undertones of BR540, although this is significantly different than that. The saffron is mellow and not overpowering, and the woody notes encapsulates the entire thing almost like a grounding scent. This easily lasts me a day and more, both on skin and clothes. This perfume is also a head turner, because she projects like crazy! But it’s so lovely especially in the dry down, where all the woody notes are dominant.

Oh... my word. This perfume is EXACTLY what I hoped. I had heard of the comparisons to BR540, Angels Share, Milk- and yes. It does resemble all of the above, but to me it’s an improvement upon all of them. This is the most delicious, spicy, sweet fragrance. Not actually edible smelling, mind you. But so smooth- and talk about long lasting! I sprayed this before work at 8am, and a couple asked me at 3pm to write down the name of my perfume. I’ve found a new favorite fragrance with Amberthyme!

I blind bought this over Xmas ..this is fantastic and worth the $49I I spent. It's an extrait too so it's a powerhouse. If u like kamrah,commodity milk&instant crush,,then just get it. I noticed it's getting even denser and nicer over time as it macerates,and it's already a powerhouse. I get sooo many compliments when I wear this. I layer this with kamrah and it's intoxicating...if u see it for $40-$50 grab it bc it's a steal&they don't make it anymore

This one is amazing, you can realy smell the cinnamon and it is pretty creamy. Reminds me of a warmer version of commodity milk. It is a beast, my mom once tried some of my perfumes and this one was feeling up every room she came into. And the packaging is just the most extra thing I have ever seen, feels like a thousand dolar fragrance.

Cedar - Vanilla - Cinnamon in a perfect balance. Fresh, not too sweet, slightly spicy. Perfect summer scent for me. Beautiful presentation. Adding: It smells like cloves instead of cinnamon. Stays on your clothes until you wash it. That's how I wanted Amber Oud Gold Al Haramain smells like. But that one just smells waaay too sour on me.

I purchased Amberythme in June 2024. As it ages, the scent is becoming closer to BR540 DNA, as opposed to the beautiful cinnamon, vanilla and amber fragrance I got when I first sprayed it. I thought it was going to be it's "own thing" and quite special. It was going to be one of my favorites for fall and winter, but it is now becoming similar to many clones of the expensive and infamous fragrance mentioned above. The projection, sillage and longevity are good, so for the price, this is a great value, but I didn't purchase this thinking that it would develop this way. It's not marketed as a "dupe" for anything, but it seems that it's just that. I love the cinnamon note, but The ambergris is quite animalic and heavy here, which is probably what makes this reminiscent of BR540. After several months of macerating, the ambergris (whale sperm) note began to dominate taking the scent in a familiar direction. (BR540 territory) Do I like it? It's OK, but I am disappointed that it's not the same as it was when I first sprayed it, with notes of cinnamon vanilla, and amber dominating. Hopefully in time it will become more balanced. I will update in a month or 2. Keep smelling gorgeous everyone! ❤️ *UPDATE 11/30/24 I am happy to report that after 5 months of macerating, this fragrance did mellow and become it's "own thing" The overwhelming similarity to BR540 has diminished significantly. I can still sense a slight similarity, but I now get the same vanilla, amber and cinnamon vibe as I did when I first sprayed it. I wholeheartedly recommend this perfume! SCORE: 8.5 out of 10. Keep smelling gorgeous everyone!❤️

@pinkfairygumdrop, I received this today, and I wore this to the bar this evening. A couple of things of note. One, I am a covid survivor, so, while I can detect notes, one thing I no longer have a sense of is projection. Secondly, I purchased my bottle off of ebay, and while I trust the seller to provide what is described, I have no idea if the seller, or anyone who possessed the bottle prior to me buying it, stored it properly. Having said that, I mostly agree with mizzhoopz review, although, I don't find it "sexy", nor was I impressed with the projection, which in my case, was more a lack thereof. Ten sprays went unnoticed to anyone but myself. However, on the positive side. I would agree that this is warm and rich, and also that there is balance between the notes, and amber does prevail though out. And, while I struggle to think of an occasion where I myself would choose this over something else, I still like it, and don't regret the purchase. As to your concerns about masculinity, my opinion is that, while it leans masculine, it could fairly be considered unisex to some degree. After about five hours of wear, amber aside, I get a trace of cinnamon, and a bit more vanilla and sandalwood. Disappointingly, I can't detect any cedar. Overall, I do like the base notes. As far as a blind buy, I'm not convinced that it's worthy. Get a sample if you can. It's also not something I personally would consider blind reach. I don't regret it as I can afford to waste the price of the bottle, some can, others can't.

I definitely like this unisex fragrance. Not too boozey or over sweet, a perfect balance. This would be good for a night out on a cooler or cold day. I do get B540 base for a few seconds , but once it hits your skin it becomes similar to Lataffa Kham , but I do not get B540 as a copy, no. It doesnt smell like anything Commodity milk at all , so not sure where ppl get that. I have both along with Milk +. This scent is more similar to angel share but stands on its own.

Khamrah minus the dates with an extra shot of ambergris!! Nothing lactonic, no BR540 (Thank goodness)! Presentation is 10/10 stunning, beautiful bottle.

This is basically Arabians Tonka with BCR540, both very prominent scents in one.

Based on my experience with my bottle and the reviews I've read, I'm starting to think this fragrance suffers from major batch variations. First of all, most people seem to agree that theirs has well above average performance, meanwhile mine is extreeemely weak. Overspraying doesn't solve this, and yes I'm sure it's not olfactory fatigue. Some of you say the saffron came out more as it aged, someone said they get clove and not cinnamon, but clove screams off my skin and I definitely don't smell any, one person even mentioned goats, hay, and cheese. When I first got this, it had more BR540 vibe than anything, with maybe 30% Angel's Share and just a hint of lactonicity. Now, over 4 months later, I barely get any 540 and now it's mostly Angel's Share (with no booziness and not nearly as sweet as A.S.) and a bigger helping of Commodity Milk. And no, it has not gotten one bit stronger in this time. I just doused my arm with this and can barely smell it. This fragrance had so much potential, and by the sounds of it I'm sure I'd be happy if I got one of the other batches, but with all the variety I have in my collection, I can't bring myself to wear something that is this weak. It only cost me 44 dollars, so I'm not losing sleep over it, but I really wish I got the performance a lot of you are getting. Batch# AEA/2733/12455, Production Date 08/23.

This is a mix between BR540 & PDM Oajan. soft, ambery and powdery smell. suitable for cooler weather. Not sure about the projection but Longevity is beastly. it lasted on my shirt for 3 days.

The notes are like a dream, but this perfume was a complete disaster for me. First of all, I got an allergic reaction from it and this is the first time in my life that has happened to me. I tested the other 2 fragrances from this line and they didn't give me a red rash on my wrist. Secondly, it's such a masculine scent.. Unwearable. BR540, Khamrah, Angels Share, Commodity Milk? Where? How? What do you do to get all this? 😭😭😭 I have nothing against masculine leaning scents, I use unisex' on the more masculine side, but this perfume is too much for me, it's the scent of a mature man, closer to 60 than 40. In it's favor, it is killer, the scent is eternal, you will smell it even after washing your clothes. Perfect for a guy who likes strong, sweet scents. But I warn you, this is not subtle at all and it takes no prisoners. Don't blind buy!!!

@brandon.yampura I totally agree and went to check my production date. 08/23. Same as yours and mine is much the same. Incredibly weak, I've let this sit and mature for a year now and there's still barely much scent at all. The cinnamon hits at the opening and then in fifteen minutes or so, it's a skin scent. I've had so many that started either weak or not that promising that ended up blooming. This one just never did. If anyone else is not having success with this, maybe check to see if you have the same production date of 08/23

I was a little bit dissapointed; i was hoping that this is going to be toned down BR540 with lactonic and Khamrah coming uprfront. On me, I get Khamrah a bit (nothing lactonic, Cloud is more lactonic) and then its purely BR540. I dont mind the scent but I am getting sick of it. Presentation is beautiful. I was able to buy it for 53€ with shipping.

similar to dmcat63 below, my bottle is more and more becoming a br540 type scent rather than sweet/warm scent that i initially got.... i'm not a massive fan of that scent, it's ok, but nothing special to me or something i reach for, so i'm kinda bummed :( the perfume and the bottle are really nice quality, but i want more of that sweet warm dna again! hopefully it just needs to sit... or i can layer with it... but yeah, kinda disappointing, i didn't buy this to have a br540 dupe :/ i have zara red temptation, i have cloud, that is more more more than enough of that general scent dna for me

The "strong synthetic" or the "sharp queasy" note could possibly be the saffron. It's surprisingly biting and some people are turned off by it. It's a note that takes some getting used to. I like it after it's dried down a bit. And for the reviewer that said ambergris is whale sperm... um no. Sorry to disappoint you but it's not that. At all. And I highly doubt this perfume has real ambergris considering how rare it is and the price of this perfume is not considered high end. So yea anyone who was put off by that cpuld instead just think of it as lab created whale vom. Enjoy :)

Blind bought this, so far another mistake. I am not sure which note blasts me in the face but this, as well as Khamrah-smell like straight up rubbing alcohol. Tossed Khamrah as maceration for almost a year did nothing to change the intense rubbing alcohol smell. Amberythme gives me BKR-ish/cherry/spicy alcohol and I hope it changes with time. Sucked in by a youtube reviewer in a weak moment..I don't believe there are any ways to not blind buy these as I only see them online and no samples offerred.

I like it for layering. It’s saffron heavy at first spray. While it’s sweet, it’s controlled, not BR540 type sweetness. I reminds me tons of PDM Kalan. As this scent dries down, I begin to get some of the cinnamon and tonka but saffron remains a heavy player. Not sure if it’s beast mode, but it present, I get good silage and I don’t become anosmic Is it a dupe of BR540, not exactly, is it a variation, absolutely.

I ordered this blindly solely based on the notes and that fabulous presentation. This did not disappoint in either aspect! In fact, after spraying the fragrance, I thought.... this reminds of something I have. Sugar Addict, by niche house, borntostandout. I own both fragrances. Amberthyme isn't a dupe (I don't think), but IMO has a very similar vibe/DNA to Sugar Addict. A wonderful addition to my collection!

I'm in complete agreement with tarebl's review below, and Brandon's. Mine is also August 2023 and I've had it for 5 months and it is still just a barely-there skin scent and just has not developed into anything at all. I can't see any miracles happening here. I'm really sick of batch inconsistencies with middle eastern fragrances (they're not that inexpensive in my country but atleast it wasn't a niche).

This took ages to macerate. Straight rubbing alcohol at first spray. I still don't like the opening, it reminds me of mint gum that was stored with fruity gum. The dry down (after 10-15 minutes) is much nicer and I do see the comparisons of it being a trio of Milk, Angels Share and 540. I think it's discontinued. The bottle and box are the best I've ever seen.

This smells like Arabians Tonka with spritzes of Khamrah and Baccarat Rouge. Lovely scent and keeps me from having to layer those other more expensive fragrances. Would be perfect for a cold, cozy fall or winter night but is still elevated enough for a sexy cold weather date night.

This doesn’t smell like Angel’s Share or Khamrah to me at all. I get TONKA and saffron (ie the note that makes people think of BR540) and those two combined with the boldness found in Amberythme remind me of Arabians Tonka. It’s the cinnamon that gives it a hint of Commodity Milk.

Omg! Where do I begin? This is an utterly glorious fragrance. If BR540 and Milk+ had a love child, it would be this gorgeous and stunning fragrance called Amberthyme. It is sweet, creamy, decadent and very feminine. Smells so goos

I have a sample of Afnan Edict Amberythme and the notes written here are: Top notes: Lemon Zest, Bitter Orange Blossom, Amber Middle notes: Saffron, Aromatic Spices, Cedar Base notes: Jasmine, Musk, Woody

This frag is a mix of : baccarat, angel share and commodity milk! Definitely not as sweet as Angel share, milky creaminess is mostly evident at drydown, saffron and cinnamon is present throughout!

Very hyped, but very weak!!! Disappointed with performance and sillage. It is nice but barely smell like anything and I have had mine a year! Waste of money! Will not repurchase.

Very much reminds me of red temptation vanille which has really good performance - you wouldn’t need both they are that Similar to me

@Dmcat63- although there are most definitely some strange substances used to make perfumes, ambergris is not whale sperm. Lol

Just arrived and it was even better than expected. Matches the notes..Lovely tonka and vanilla..I love it..
