Turathi Purple

I was very curious about Afnan Turathi Purple since the first time I saw the beautiful bottle, the notes and the nice video reviews about it. So when I found it on a good price, I didn't think twice. Now to the scent - it is gorgeous! Sooooo addictive! At first, I want to say, on my skin Afnan Turathi Purple is not anything like Noir de Noir, Armaf Club de Nuit Intense for women(which I have and love as well) or La Vie Est Belle. On me, Turathi Purple is not as floral as these perfumes and I don't detect any rose. I can describe it as a night out, mystery, seductive and sexy fragrance. The berries are very prominent and they stay in a leading position through the whole scent life. The pineapple is not so present as a aroma, as it gives more thick, rounded and syrupy texture to the berries. There are some spicy accords, but in a supporting role. The patchouli note reminds me of the chocolate-caramel patchouli in the first Angel Mugler. It gives seductive gourmand character to the composition, but it's not too dense and overpowering. It gives the precise doze of alluring vibes. Later I can feel some some nice violet/iris notes, despite they are not listed. The moss is there as well and it gives nice balance and woody-green-earthy approach. The vanilla is also here, but I feel it more close to very cozy, warm and sweet, comfort benzoin. Again great work here with the sweetness(the vanilla) - not too much, just perfect. As a whole, Afnan Turathi Purple reminds me most of Chopard Iris Malika and a little bit of Gucci Guilty Absolute pour Femme. Of course, it's not exactly like these 2, but kind of. Could it be a unisex scent - yes, but it is definitely on the feminine side. I use it without any issues, but you have to love deep and more dark, delicious, fruity, syrupy scents. No citruses here, no light and transparent notes. Final words: Afnan Turathi Purple is a great dark, but still alluring scent with amazing sexy, night out profile!

I don't know if I'm unfamiliar with this note but the opening was something similar to a flavored fruit punch for me personally. Synthetic fruity sweet and floral drydown with a good level of sillage and longevity, in a good manner.

I think it's a nice scent, but it's not for me! Too dense and spicy lol, reminds me of a men's cologne a bit.

2023 isn't when Turathi Purple was created. That's when it was entered into the database. I know this because because I've had this fragrance for over two years. Originally when I purchased TP it immediately reminded me of Casablanca by Swiss Arabian. I was a little disappointed because I didn't want another sickly sweet caramel apple scent. I put it away and forgot about it until a few months ago. Upon revisiting Turathi Purple I can sniff out a major difference and love layering with other fragrances. Today I'm layering it with Choco Musk, but as of now my favorite combo is TP x Purple Suede by Goldfield and Banks. TP brings the fruity essence that I sometimes need when I reach for Purple Suede. To my nose after letting TP macerate for almost two years I believe it to be in the same realm as La Capitale. It's NOT a dupe but in the same wheelhouse, just imagine LC without the zesty ginger. I get fruits and an underlying leather note? It's not listed but I get traces of saffron? If you already own fragrances like La Capitale or even Tuscan Leather then this will be a pass for you. However if you want to get the experience without going broke then give Turathi Purple a chance. Just understand that you may need to let it rest for a bit before it reaches it's final form.

Candy sweet opener that turns into a fruity vanilla in the drydown. Bought it for my lady, I like it, but I wouldn't say I agree with the comprehensive review below fully. She found it boring and teenagy. However, my 70 year old mother loves it a lot. Hit or miss, I guess. Sexy? Not at all to my nostrils, more cute. Doesn't smell cheap, just like the other in the Turathi series, it screams quality.

Love this one, deep dark and rich feminine to the max. This is the fragrance i'd imagine Snow White's Evil Stepmother would have been wearing
