B.H.P.C. Classic for Men

This is a much better Cool Water style fragrance with a more green orientation than others in this line or price range. Whereas the Blue by BHPC leans towards the blue end of CW, this takes the more green slightly bitter/sharp end of the spectrum that retains the soapiness without sacrificing woodiness. A very nice fresh spring scent with a musky undertone that projects a fair bit (the musk mainly so beware for those who dislike muskiness). While Cool Water isn't exactly expensive, especially at racstores and discounters, sometimes I want more sharpness such as this offers. And for 12.99 for 2.5 oz and a 1 oz travel, nothing really to complain about. What got me into this line was I happened to pick up Sexy for a couple dollars on a whim in TJ Maxx. I was struck by the familiarity of the profile but couldn't place it but knew I liked it. Later on I realize that it does smell a lot like an EDT version of ADG Profumo. I say an EDT version because its as if (to use a musical term) the low end had been turned way down or as if listening to music through tweeters and midrange speakers so the robustness of the bass is lost even though the sound is all there. This made me take a second look at this line, especially for the money. If I can get profile I enjoy for use when it would be a "waste" for designers or even mid tier (think outside lounging in a hammock) for a few dollars, its worth it to me.

The bottle is trash, but the juice smells awesome. I first smelled it on a coworker, and it came off like a tobacco scent. Asked him what it was because I liked it so much. Straight off my skin, I get something musky, woody, timeless, and masculine. Versatile and easy to wear and appreciate. Can't find this brand's scent called "Blaze" on this site, but that one is incredible and smells better than Spicebomb to me. Both of these are easily worth three or four times what you'll pay for them. It's a shame they appear so cheap. This smells like uncirculated US dollars. Like paper money but concentrated, that same unique woody sweet inky smell. If you like scents like playdough, silly putty, pencil shavings, wet earth, old books, things like that, give this a try it's strange in a good way. As far as wearing it as a fragrance, I would if I didn't notice it smells like money. Feel weird about wearing it now because I don't want to come across as someone that literally smells like money is hidden in my warm nether regions. Also smells similar to Mont Blanc Individual/Creed Original Santal but significantly sweeter despite the disparity in declared notes. (mind I said similar not that they are the same)

For the price, I would say it's very nice. Definitely a simple, strong masculine scent. The woodiness in it gives it a rather dark tone, but its balanced out a bit by the citrus notes. It's rather like a man on steroids at the gym who also has a sense of humor. It's darker and very strong initially, but also has some lightness to it, and is obviously very masculine. A good everyday scent.

When I got my first mini bottle of Dior Jules, the saleswoman sent me a sample of this as a present. I find it really pleasant, modern yet full of classical notes. It's in my collection, but I don't want to use it mainly because it's not available in my country, and I want to save it. I've learned that it was released in 2005, but it smells like a 90's fragrance. Worth buying sometime!
