Chapter 3

A smoky wood, aged and rich opens the "Chapter 3". Juicy and tart apricot and peach give it a golden shimmer and prevent the feeling of mustiness (like the one that haunts Bois Talisman by Dior); they also elevate the wood and make it perfectly wearable during the day. I commend the depth and richness of the sandalwood in this fragrance, with incense-like accord, but this comes as no surprise, bearing in mind Ajmal's extensive investment in the aromatic wood plantations in India and Indonesia. As the time passes fruits and berries become more prominent, never shifting into overly sweet or sugary facet, retaining their playful and crisp character. The combination of and the contrast between these two notes, from the top, makes "Chapter 3" truly special and intriguing. It is definitely not a 1st chapter of the book, as it immediately starts full of character and impressions, as if one is already deeply immersed in the story. Rose and osmanthus do a beautiful job of carrying the heart of the perfume, without being predictable or orthodox in their concentration or blend. They bring in the softness and ensure a smooth flow of the scent, without being domineering and cloying. Amber warms up the musk, creating a simple and elegant base, grounding the wood, fruits and florals in a very efficient and amazingly long-lasting manner. "Chapter 3" is an amazing unisex scent, with a most original character and sound, and an outstanding quality of notes and execution. As previously mentioned, it can be worn during the day or night time, in the board room or for a date, thanks to its balanced projection and moderate sillage, among other things. This perfume speaks status, confidence and unapologetic individuality of its wearer. It neither shouts nor whispers, it speaks with a warm and rich voice, and an occasional mischievous spark in the corner of one's eyes. I keep hearing the mellifluous baritone of Richard Burton (like in Dylan Thomas’s “Fern Hill" famous reading) and he was one of the rare talents who could charm and seduce with his voice alone. So I keep listening...

It was love at first spray at the store in Dubai. Chapter 3 starts off woody and smoky, with a hint of fruity notes following it. The fragrance gets better and better after a few hours. As I smell it on me now, it has turned soapy/powdery, still holding on to its woody and smoky trail somewhere in there (after 6 hours, in AC). I had tried Chapter 2 as well from the entire Untold Stories collection but I went ahead with this. Chapter 3. Unboxing of the perfume was also nice. That being said, this can not be a blind buy.

Love at first sniff ! Store test. Spray spray sniff sniff ..Peach/apricot fruits tea, Wow!...I feel its also kinda bubbly? hmmm... is that osmanthus? oh SOO warm and good!... Oh hi rose there you are hiding. ~Time passes as I smell my hand and test strip... ahh I smell a comforting musk, cozy amber & creamy sandalwood,,, a pleasant ending to a great peachy apricoty scent ride.

Creamy peach osmanthus on a vanilla musk base. Not innovative but a nice execution with high quality and a reasonable price. Way better than designer options at the $80-90 range this sells for.

When I smelled this on card I found it difficult to comprehend and I thought, more than the others in the line, that I needed to wear it to get what was going on. On skin it's very interesting, as there's a large fruity element to it but with absolutely no sweetness (I'm already in at this point). Underneath is a very serious, slightly nefarious smelling sandalwood, perhaps akin to that found in Santal Majuscule. So imaging Santal Majuscule sandalwood base with out the cocoa, but with peach and apricot segments from a tin, no syrup. There is a fresh, juicy element coming from the oamanthus and watery rose, plus whatever "green notes" they're referring to. On card I liked this one least of the five, but on skin it's really quite wonderful, and as ever with Ajmal, the price to quality ratio is unbeaten in the perfumesphere. By the way, I didn't think it smelled much like Journey Woman, but as it dries down I can see it.
