Détour Rouge

This is such an underrated amazing fragrance that should have more hype. So far Detour Rouge is the most versatile of the Detour fragrances I've tried. I have Detour Noir Exclusif, Detour Noir Intense, and this one, and this is the only one I would dare to wear in the summer. I don't know if this is a clone of anything, but it has certain similarities to Layton(which makes sense considering it's a Detour). Some have said it may have been trying to be a Versace Eros Flame clone(I have only smelled it at the store but I can kind of smell similarity). What I do know is it smells very lavender and tobacco heavy that gives a major powdery vibe similar to Layton. It definitely has a strong cardamom and tonka, and musk as well. I can also smell some citrus, and tea. It lasts forever, and has great projection as well. To me this smells like they combined Layton with a typical 2000's spicy warm fresh fragrance(think YSL La Nuit, D&G The One, Mustang ect). I can also see someone thinking the musk reminds them of A&F Fierce, or maybe Kaaf. I have another take however I think the musk kind of reminds BR540 in the air. It kind of smells like someone combined Layton with a dash of BR540 to make a unique ultra masculine fragrance. If that's the case it makes sense that it's called Detour Rouge.

I have both versions and I have to admit that they are very similar. However, when you delve into the details and really pay attention to the comparison, you can notice various deviations and differences. In the opening, there is almost no difference, except that you can detect a greater presence of spiciness in the Rouge version, but when the perfume develops its middle notes, the differences can be noticed (if you pay attention to it). I think the tea and violet come through in a very mild way. A similar smell as Armaf Craze opening , if you are familiar with it, but milder. In any case, the vanilla is here but not as pronounced as in the NOIR version. Both versions are very very good, minor differences but worth every cent. Do not forget that we are talking about economically very affordable perfumes €20-30, with exceptional quality, but still similar and inspired by very expensive perfumes. Asking more for a fraction of the PDM price would be absurd.

First of all, the notes are right, but the main accords are all wrong, it's not musky violet or powdery at all! The first thing you notice in the opening is the freshness and the spiciness, it smells more like Eros to my nose than Allure Sport which i already own! But to be more precise, it smells 85% to Detour Noir ! The opening is 95% similar, you have to stick your nose to tell the difference between them, it's pretty logical since they share similarities in the notes (real notes not Fragrantica notes...) It's in the dry down where you can tell them apart, but you have to know both and wear both... I sold my second detour noir bottle, Rouge and noir are a bit redundant, but you can own both, they are cheap especially rouge, i bought it 20€

Very non linear and layered fragrance. My nose is not good, and often I can only pick up a few accords and notes. But in this fragrance I can distinctly sense many nuances of the scent. I abolutely love this scent! I get: -airy lavender -creamy cardamom -crisp rasped citrus skins -subtle aromatic dark green tea -subtle bright florals -creamy vanilla & fruit musk base After about 30 mins it starts changing into -a lot of warm smooth creamy vanilla & red fruit musk -powdery soft tonka -velvety dark florals

Like it's brother/sister, Detour Noir, this is a GREAT fragrance that will be a crowd-pleaser. I got two compliments the first time spaying it at work. I think this smells a lot like PDM Layton and has the EXACT DNA (I have Layton, Layton X and Carlisle bottles) that PDM has. It is a great scent that can stand on its own and is a safe blind buy. I sure wish I would have purchased this before purchasing 90% of the fragrances I have.

Don’t kid yourself, this is the exact same fragrance as Detour Noir! It’s a unisex scent so both men and woman can wear it. Why don’t earn a extra few bucks by create a men and a woman version?! But I can’t complain, this fragrance is great! I love Layton and this is as close as you get without spending a whole lot of money. Noir or Rouge? Doesn’t matter, you will smell the same and you will smell damn good!!

Bought Détour Rouge six months ago but almost forgot about it. What’s different now is that I can smell a minty opening, just like in PDM Layton. I love that part of Layton and now I can enjoy it when wearing Détour Rouge as well. I guess it’s the geranium, which is not listed here on Fragrantica 🧐

From the first spray it reminds me of Rabanne Pure XS, which i also have, it's like less sweet version of that, for 10e this is banger 1/1! Might get a another back up bottle, sheeeesh..

This last quite a long time and better than détour Noir, which Can't be the Layton clone!! Taking about it for the price $20-30 it's quite good infact!

Just received this morning so this is a quick first impressions guide. Cheap as chips Spring/ Summer/ Autumn daytime scent. I paid £12 Inc delivery. Very versatile and definitely is inspired by both Allure Homme Sport Eau Extreme and Pure XS. It is a mix of both and not a clone of either imo. Not smelt the Noir version so can't comment. I do a get a bit of Layton but more of the other 2 I mentioned. Starts with Bergamot and Lavender in the opening but then draws more Black Tea and a touch of Tobacco in the mid. I don't really get much Musk but there is some Tonka and Cedar in there as well. Going to let it settle for my full impressions but so far so good. Definitely worth a blind buy and for what I paid it's an absolute steal..👍🏻👍🏻

This one took forever to settle down, but now I am starting to see the true character of this fragrance. I see a passing resemblance to Chanel Allure Homme Sport Eau Extreme. I get a bit of citrus throughout the evolution but it is mainly dominated by aromatics and sweet creamy tonka. Not my favorite, but still not bad. It was worth the 14 EUR I paid for it just to try something new.

This smells different from Detour Noir - IMHO the quality of this juice is way better especially up close. a 10/10 for me especially considering the price which is 11 Euros. Really versatile, sweet and everyone around me likes it

I just bought Detour Rouge for my son from Al Haramain shop itself and the batch code is 250219021808 which has a production date of 25/02/2019 whereas this fragrance was launched in 2022!!

This is clearly inspired by Rabanne Pure XS, they smell exactly the same, especially in the opening.

It's like Detour Noir (or Layton), but sweeter and more feminine. Lasts a long time

Detour Noir is one of my favorites from this series. I read all the comments here saying "they just put a different label on Detour Noir and sold it again," so I trusted the hype and made a blind buy. But honestly? What a disappointment. This is neither close to Detour Noir nor PDM Layton. Not even in the same ballpark. I'm writing this straight out of the box... my honest first impression. Aside from a faint hint of lavender, bergamot, and maybe a touch of violet, I can barely smell anything. I was expecting black tea, tonka bean, and at least a whisper of tobacco, but I get absolutely none of them. Maybe, maybe the tea note is hiding somewhere deep in the background, quietly trying to make itself known. That's being generous. And let's talk about performance. Detour Noir is a beast on my skin. Easily 8+ hours with decent projection. But this? Not even close. I've been wearing it for just over an hour, and the projection is almost non-existent. I have to press my nose against my wrist to smell anything. That's not what I expected from this line. It is a huge letdown for me. If you're thinking of blind buying this based on the Detour Noir comparisons, seriously, don't. At least not yet. Maybe maceration will save it, but right now? Hard pass. 6/10. Edit: It's not just a winter fragrance. Although it may not perform great in very hot climates during summer, it can still be worn all four seasons. Keep in mind that I'm saying this straight out of the box.

Smells similar to Ahmed Al Maghribi's Kaaf in the opening. Very citrusy and bitter tea smelling for the first 30m-1h with an Arabic twist. After 2-3h, it smells slightly oud-y and I can definitely smell the cedar. Unfortunately, I can't smell any of the powdery, violet, tonka and musk. There is no sweetness at all. It smells like an aquatic fragrance which is not that suitable for cold weather in my humble opinion. Still, it's dirt cheap at only 15 USD (1.5K bdt in Bangladesh).

When I first got this, I didn’t give it a fair chance. I thought it was terrible and didn’t understand what it was supposed to be. I gave it another chance and it smells like Layton. Not as good but it’s still a fair clone.

To those of you who think Detour Noir and Detour Rouge are similar - they are not, at all. Apparently there is at least one batch of Detour Noir that is in a Detour Rouge bottle and box. I bought 2 bottles of Detour Rouge from different places. The first bottle with a batch 180522021808 smells just like Detour Noir, so I bough another one with a batch 260218011808, the perfume in it to me smells almost like how it smells inside Orthodox Church. Now I wonder if this is the real Detour Rouge?!

BEWARE! This snake oil contains a pungent, “oud like”, super amber chemical. Super ambers have been replacing traditional amber (labdanum, vanilla and benzoin). To me, they don’t smell anything like amber. They’re more like a bad substitution for oud/agar. Like a lot of people, I really dislike this note. If you know you don’t like the super ambers, this isn’t for you. This fragrance doesn’t even list amber as a note, so it shouldn’t have a super amber in it, but it does. From the notes and descriptions, this one sounded very promising and it was cheap enough that I could buy it and throw it away if it turned out to be trash. I was disappointed to smell this note that wasn’t even listed, and I’m throwing it away. Ya, it’s trash!

I agree with HristoBG's review below. I am in Dubai, so visited the Al Haramain store, and picked up a back up for my Detour Noir and also picked up a bottle of Detour Rouge. I have read reviews where people are claiming that Detour Rouge smells 70-80% like Detour Noir; and I agree that it seems like they have mistakenly packaged a batch of Detour Noir as Detour Rouge. Even the tester in the Al Haramain's Mirdif City centre mall store smelled exactly like Detour Noir, which had me curious. However, I've got back home and sprayed both Detour Noir on one hand and Detour Rouge on another hand. I am lucky enough to get the real Detour ROUGE; and I can confirm it smells nothing like Detour Noir or PDM Layton. Detour Rouge smells a lot lile Versace Eros Flame and Channel Allure Homme Sport. It's got a fresh opening with Bergamot and a lot of Pepperiness; However the pepper note is not as bright as in Eros Flame, neither is Detour Rouge as citrusy as Eros Flame; but the pepperiness in the Rouge is similar to the one in Lattafa Asad, and to a smaller extent like Dior Sauvage Elixir. I do like it, as it does not smell anything like Detour Noir (lucky me), as I already have 4 bottles of Detour Noir in my backup, and did not want another one that smelled like the Noir version.

I left a review in December last year, but will re-iterate. The Actual Detour Rouge smells nothing like Detour Noir or PDM Layton. It's a sour/tart fresh profile with a sharp bergamot opening and some metallic notes from Violet. Absolutely amazing! Plus a performance beast, considering it's a semi-freshie. People who are smelling the Detour Noir/PDM Layton juice in Detour Rouge bottle, is probably due to a labelling/packaging error. Not your fault guys, we know whose fault it is. I layer Detour Rouge with Zara's Vetiver Pamplemousse, and the result is phenomenal. Got 20+ compliments just this week wearing this combo twice. Vetiver Pamplemousse is a juicy Grapefruit, Orange and Vetiver fragrance. I apply Detour Rouge first and layer Vetiver Pamplemousse after. Don't spray on top of each other, spray detour rouge and vetiver pamplemousse next to each other on skin and clothes as well. Wait for 2 minutes and feel the magic; it will be more Citrusy and zesty than Versace Eros Flame, More tart and fresher than ADP Colonia/colonia intense.

Also open your eyes and read my review again. I said 20+ compliments in a week, not in a day! Do you know me personally to say I did not receive those compliments? Move along troll...

I’ve been a Detour Noir glazer for a minute now, in fact it was my first middle eastern clone and is largely responsible for my current addiction (SCREW YOU AL HARAMAIN!), this is super fire. It’s similar to DN but a bit less in your face, more pleasant and to my nose actually smells better and higher class. Not sure why the rating is so low, it deserves its flowers! I’d say get this over the original if you are chosing between the two

Read of this as a clone/dupe of Eros Flame by Versace, in my opinion it shares a passing similarity to the drydown thereof, but otherwise it's a lot more similar to Detour Noir. There's also Versencia Rouge by Maison Alhambra, that one smells exactly like the opening of Eros Flame without a corresponding drydown and worse longevity. I guess if you layered this with Versencia Rouge, you could could approximate Eros Flame pretty well.

Yea so whether this "alharamainperfumes" user is the real Al Haramain or not, that post is just stupid. People can detect if 2 fragrances are only similar of they're the same. THEY ARE THE SAME. It's not just me saying that, it's everyone i ask to smell them side by side. Some people bought 2 different batches of Detour rouge and they smell nothing alike. Why can't you just admit you've missbottled it?

HristoBG is right. If you have a bottle that smells similar to Detour Noir, well it doesn't. It smells EXACTELY the same because IT IS Detour Noir missbottled. Check the BH number at the bottom of the box. If it's 180522021808, it's the missbottled batch. The real Detour Rouge would smell nothing like Detour Noir, it supposed to be similar to Allure Homme Sport Eau Extreme

Purchased this because of my love for Detour Noir. I wore this today for work and it lasted 11 hours before I showered. This stuff is potent and slightly different from Noir that it is worth owning both. I feel it can pulled off in any weather environment as I wore it today in TX in the cold. Can’t wait to try it in the TX heat when the warmer months roll back around.

Kunkle I call cap on 20 compliments with that layering. You wouldn't even get 20 just from layton. Does it boost your self esteem to make up such stories? Because I along with 98% of other people on here think it's just cringe. I'm sure this will be deleted for no reason but just like you feel better cap'n about compliments. I feel better saying this

This is really nice, longevity is good, except when I first sprayed it, upon stepping out of my house, someone told me I smelled like a bug spray, at some point it did. It was kind of embarrassing. I might have oversprayed. About 3 hours later, when it settled down, I could smell it and I liked it, and I got a compliment from another person.

Unfortunately, my bottle is from the 180522021808 batch, so apparently, it's just mis-bottled Detour Noir, which smells good, but I already have 2 bottles of it. Maybe I'll try my luck with buying this again some day and hope to get the correct fragrance in the bottle.

This smells great. Great for cool weather and date nights. This is a must have must buy fragrance. Plus it's cheap and I really love it. But the bottle is ugly that is the only downside of this fragrance but I assure you this smells fantastic smells expensive.

Weird but in a cool and interesting way. Think Layton but spring citrus fresh and linen clean and does not fry your nose. Lasts quite a while and noticeable in the air around the 7 hour mark. Cheap at under £10. Definitely unisex.

BUSTED! Got myself another bottle of Detour noir in fraudulent packaging. So disappointing. Better quality control al haramain! better quality control! You have lost some points. Lattafa and Afnan are now in the lead.

Indistinguishable from Détour noir. MUST have been a labeling error. I have them side by side and it's simply not possible they would have done this on purpose.

I can't really rate it yet. It's basically a way more powdery version of Detour Noir, at least my bottle.
