Oudh Musk

This is the 3rd fragrance from this Musk series that this brand has and my favorite out of the bunch. I have Musk Collection (Bleu De Chanel vibes...somewhat) and Amber Musk (Ombre Nomade vibes with a potent blend of amber mostly and oud). Oudh Musk is a lot more woody and that makes sense seeing some of the upvotes for Tom Ford's Oud Wood. There is no oud listed in the note breakdown, so maybe that's the woods...but definitely smells oudy to me, but not overdone. Pretty strong in the opening with that woody/oudy nuance with musk starting out on the outskirts. As this starts to dry down, that woody/oudy nuance slowly starts to fade, giving way to the musk that will continue to get stronger near the end of the opening. That musk isn't animalic at all...to my nose, it's a firm white musk. This scent doesn't change much from the opening to the drydown. It's pretty much woods/oud, some cardamon, pepper in the top, and a bunch of musk. I don't have anything in my collection that's reminiscent TM Oud Wood, so it was a different experience, but definitely enjoyable. I sprayed this on at 6am and it's 8.5 hours later...this is still hanging around, but not nearly as strong as it was in the opening. Wearing this to work (indoors and non-physical). Now that the musk has taken centerstage, this has went from being bit dense to very airy. Airy fragrances are a bit tough for me to smell until I move around...and this one is still very present. I've had this bottle for close to about 6 months. The scent DNA really didn't change during that time, but I liked this right out of the bottle. It could be a perfect spring fragrance when it's a bit chill in the mornings then heats up. It's much stronger in the opening, then slowly changes to this musky airiness. The sillage is pretty good here...it wafts the entire time. Projection is a bit longer than arm's length. I've clocked this somewhere between 9-10 hours of longevity off my skin before (now fragrances does tend to cling to my skin a bit longer than average). The average price I've seen online recently is around $35. Again, I haven't gotten the chance to smell other Oud Wood clones, so not really sure what's a better value out there. I know Fragrance World, Lattafa, Maison Alhambra, and other clone houses have Oud Wood clones that are cheaper, and that doesn't always add up to worse juice. So, very interested in other fragrances that does the Oud Wood profile that has a bit more depth throughout the lifecycle. Big fan of more darker scents with woods, oud, leather, tobacco, and etc. Scent: 9 Projection: 9 (excellent the first 2-3 hours) Sillage: 9 (this follows you even when you think it's gone) Longevity: 9 (clocked between 9-10 hours) Price: 7 (the prices on this fluctuates from $35 to close to $50...the value here is definitely as close to $35 as possible). This is a very satisfying oud and woods fragrance. it is a fresh, woody, oudy, sweet, ambery, musky scent with a slightly lemony and fruity touches. The opening is a little harsh, but that is fine if you want strong longevity. This is a scent for mature people, not old, for experienced ones . It opens dark, fresh, peppery, and musky with a clear oud presence, while the freshness in the opening comes from soft cardamom, giving a refined freshness.The oud here is fruity and slightly sour Oudh. There is an almond like bitterness and sweetness coming from the tonka bean. As it develops into warm, fresh, musky, and sweet amber notes, it is followed by dry, woody notes, especially cedar. The scent keeps changing. Sometimes you mainly smell sweet, musky amber and woods, and at other times the fruity wet oud comes back. this is really good. 10/10. If you don’t like the scent at first, let it sit for one or two months. It becomes exactly how I described it. Well done, Al Haramain. I have smelled many synthetic fragrances, but this one feels like good quality with good ingredients.
