The God Father

Recovering alcoholic so I had no interest in smelling like alcohol and avoided sampling this one. Well I have had a bottle of it now for months. When I first sampled it I was reminded of pulp by byredo. After wearing it a few times aside from the fantasy "whiskey" note, it smells like it reads. It's warm, spicy, sweet and musky. This alcohol/whiskey I read in many reviews I believe is purely due to the combination of power of suggestion and the way these notes blend together to create different sensations people will associate with a hard drink. The ambery warmth, the taste of something sweet and sour, the spiceyness of aged oak (barrels), the raw, dry aromatic musk mallow. It's a great fragrance, projection is massive and longevity is enormous. Projects strongly for 8+ hours on clothes. Highly recommend, especially if you like Alessandro Gualtieri fragrances, the DNA is here. Don't be deterred by the comments on how boozy this is, I know what it smells like to be saturated in alcohol, this is not it, this is a perfume and it's a beautiful fragrance.

I feel bad because Baraonda is to me the PERFECT fragrance and i've bought a dupe. However this is like 95% there and smells the exact same in the air and up close very close, really hard to tell the difference. Performance is amazing as well, 8 to 10 hours and projects strongly for 2-3 hours then is a moderate projector for anohter 2 hours then it's a skin scent! Smells like whiskey backed by some soft smooth woods and a bit of musk and rose to balance everything. Smells like Baraonda then - perfect 10/10 fragrance

Opened with whiskey, woody notes and ambrette. All very well blended and nothing like alcohol at all. You won’t smell like a drunkard drenched in this, I assure you. The dry down smelled very close to Santal 33 without the pickles but with whiskey instead. The silage for me was moderate though many did think much better of it. Lasted on my skin for four hrs more or less and about twelve hrs on clothing.

This is a very good impression, the original is sharper and has more bite almost like better whiskey was used. This is very close to the original and a very good fragrance. Smells like an empty whiskey glass with a musky rose. Very fun fragrance to have in your wardrobe.

Never smelled the original, but it's opulent, woody, boozie, yet gourmondish and sweet though not syrupy. Smells luxurious in the category of OudWood... no it dont smell like oud wood. Got the travel size and ordered now a 60ml bottle. Clone or not, good is good.
