Bacchante

It started off with a tiny little 0.7 mL sample, and upon my first wearing back in May, I knew I wanted a full 1 oz bottle ASAP. Usually, if I like a scent from this house, I'll go from sample to 5 mL amber bottle, but this was just too good that I immediately hopped up to the biggest size they carry. It was one of the first full 1 oz spray bottles that I've bought from Alkemia (but definitely not the last). I agree with the scent description from @ CaliforniaPoppy: "On my skin: Sweet, fresh blueberries, the scent of refreshingly cool water and damp greenery. I do not detect lavender at all, but there is a slight earthiness with the oakmoss that comes out to play after maybe 30 minutes." Additionally, I do get just a smidge of sweetness from the tonka, but it's not cloying. I get a solid 5-6 hours of wear, and moderate projection for at least the first 4 hours. I'm curious if perhaps the reason that I get better performance than some of the other reviews listed here is because of the format--spray vs. amber bottle or rollerball, perhaps? Despite the spray being non-alcohol, I've noticed that the viscosity is slightly thinner compared to the oil in the sample vial--I wonder if that has something to do with it? Either way, it's absolutely delightful, and I love it. Don't let the "fruity" label scare you away--the blueberry/ivy accord is very fresh, pleasant, and easy to wear in both spring and summer.

Alkemia Baccante smells like if it was a rainy spring day and you walked into a florist shop (not a regular florist shop though. I'm talking about those magical ones you stumble upon seemingly by chance in the middle of the woods that are run by a kindly witch who speaks to you as if they know you, but not in a creepy way) while carrying a basket of ripe blueberries. While you're in the shop you eat some of the blueberries and then offer the rest to the kindly witch. In return she gives you a single sprig of lavender. Next thing you know, you're waking up on the damp mossy forest floor and the shop is nowhere to be seen. A hermit thrush is singing nearby and you feel lighter of heart than you have since you were a child. It's... well, it's good. The only thing wrong with this perfume is how quickly it fades.

I really love this. It starts off with a really nice blueberry scent that is natural but also reminds me of blueberry candy. It very quickly starts smelling earthy and like i am foraging for mushrooms in a forest (one of my favourite activities haha). I just put it on and i can smell the blueberry mixed with the ivy and oakmoss, its so nice! The earthiness lasts a few hours and then its very faint, but if i hold where i've sprayed up to my nose i can smell it up to 6 hours after. I don't know if i wold buy a full bottle, as I tend to like gourmand scents better. It could be a possibility though.

my alkemia experience has been weird. i ordered five samples. pretty strongly disliked all of them EXCEPT this one. holy fuck i LOVE this one. the perfect balance of sweetness from the blueberry and an earthy green-ness from everything else. smells like it just rained in a forest... wet and lush and super green. the mushroom note gives a kind of damp soil smell in the most pleasant way possible. a little weird but wearable.

Got a sample of this and immediately got it full-sized. Smells like spring in a bottle. The blueberry is so much wetter smelling than I pictured if that makes sense? It smells like a juicy fresh blueberry rather than a baked one. I adore Alkemia’s gourmands. They always have so much character. This makes me feel like I’m picking blueberries in a forest behind a cottage style house.

From the bottle: Juicy blueberries jump right out, and there is a clear note of greenery On my skin: Sweet, fresh blueberries, the scent of refreshingly cool water and damp greenery. This is realistic blueberry bushes with a damp earthiness that smells reminiscent of soil. There’s prominent oakmoss and dry woodiness in the heart. This dries down with a creamy slightly sweet tonka bean and woody earthiness, with hints of green accords. A really well done take on blueberry without feeling artificial or too sweet.

Photorealistic blueberry made more interesting by the ivy and oakmoss. As someone who loves fruity notes, I have nothing bad to say about this. It's fresh and fruity without being cloyingly sweet or juvenile. Makes me feel like a bear rolling around in a patch of wild blueberry bushes eating them straight off the stems.

This is so lovely. Fruity, earthy, and fresh all at once. Smells like foraging for blueberries in a shaded forest after it has rained, and there is damp moss beneath your bare feet. Art I think would smell like Bacchante: Dream by Joan Brull Vinyoles

Charmingly hippyish. Opens with a burst of sweet blueberry - somewhat artificial at first (a problem I have with the other Alkemia berry scents I've tried). This only lasts a few moments before it settles into very green territory. The ivy note is most prominent; the scent is laced throughout with a more realistic wild-blueberry note and barely-there hints of lavender. What I imagine your clothes would smell like after rolling around on a green, mossy forest floor with wild blueberry bushes, a few hours after light rain. Around 1.5-2 hrs after application it becomes much more berry-forward, warm from the tonka too. The green notes are still there adding depth but they step back from the spotlight. Slightly sweet, but no more so than a berry is naturally. I did find it very faintly pissy on my skin at this point (in a 'floral toilet cleaner in a public bathroom' way). 3-4 hrs after application and you can only smell it with your nose to your wrist. It's a pleasant, unique scent, and a really fun experience at a good price. I don't think I'll buy a full-size oil or an EdP but I enjoyed trying it out.

gorgeous!!! on me it’s super green, and i love the bark and oakmoss notes. smells like candied blueberry in the woods. sad because the scent didn’t last very long (the blueberry left the building almost right away), but i don’t have much of an issue with it because it smells so nice

This one is so interesting and unique. A very fresh and spring-y fragrance. Lots of cool, green ivy. The addition of blueberries gives it a nice fruitiness that is not overly sweet. Trace amounts of tonka and woods. There just may be a full bottle of this in my future. Nice!

Very watery, very blueberry-forward, but not really lasting. The oakmoss and tonka can't survive on my skin this time. It could probably work better on hair, but still not worth a fullsize for me.

i didnt know to let it rest when i first got it because i was a perfume newbie so i sniffed it as soon as it arrived on my doorstep and the pungent green scent that emanated from the sample bottle scared me off of it for like 2 years, but! the green scent has calmed down now and i can smell the blueberries, but after like an hour its kinda sour now? like raspberry candy but not in a good way, it’s a little pungent still. would not reach for this tbh

It's interesting, when I press my nose up to my wrist it smells a lot more typically perfumeish (that may be the work of the oakmoss and lavender) but when I move I get these wafts of fresh, juicy blueberries. It's delicious. This is a very green and earthy scent and I think the mushroom is doing a good job of keeping it from going soapy on me, but I still wouldn't buy it again... I think I may just not be a fan of very fresh fragrances.

I was really looking forward to try this perfum, but when I did I found the blueberry really overwhelming. If I smell it very close on my skin there is a bit of a green note, but otherwise it quickly becomes too sweet for my taste. Admittedly, I'm not a gourmand enthusiast, but I wasn't expecting something so strong on my nose.

The blueberry note here is SO good. I hate lavender usually and oakmoss isn’t great either, but after letting this one develop on skin, I am so impressed. It is so well blended and the notes work in harmony to produce a blueberry that’s really more blueberry than any blueberry I have ever met in real life. It’s like a renaissance painting equivalent of the fruit in perfume form. Dries down into a mellow sweetness that I find typical with Alkemia gourmands on my skin.

Very, very GREEN, kind of like the soaps and candles that smell like apple rind. If I think really hard, I can pick out the scent of FRESH blueberries (not the cooked ones). This is a good CLEAN sort of scent that would work well in the spring. I would not really describe it as fruity, so it is still plenty wearable if you typically don't do fruit in your scents.

i got a sample set of 6 alkemia fragrances. i really liked surcie, honored ghosts, and auguries of innocence. these 3 beat out femme sauvage, kara sevde, and bacchante for me personally. specifically, bacchante is very green/vegetal (with ivy and oak moss being the notes i prominently picked up).

Baccante is a really nice, fresh, green perfume. I smell blueberries and ivy, and it is unique and very wearable! It lasts about 3-4 hours on my skin, and wears pretty close. I like this one a lot for summer!

all i get is mushroom. it's so heavy on the mushroom i cannot look past it, i'm sorry but it's a no from me.
