Daisy Dream

This was one of the first fragrances I ever bought for myself - I remember getting a tester strip of it and smelling the heavenly dry down the next day. Since then, I've tried many other fragrances but keep returning to this one as a signature even though 10 years have passed. It is tender, airy, and sweet, like a gentle breeze blowing through white and purple flowers on a warm day. There is something very 'blue' about it - not quite aquatic, but dewy and fresh, which feels a bit like mist. The notes are blended beautifully, I feel jasmine and blackberry are slightly more prominent in the opening but it's hard to pick one note apart from the rest. It feels natural, juicy, and comforting, and despite being fresh it is huggable, especially after it dries down. I wear something different on cold and dark days, but this is perfect for summer, spring, and most of the Australian autumn. I can imagine someone of any age wearing this. Unlike Daisy (and many other fragrances I've tried), it's not obnoxiously 'happy' or young. There's something optimistic and innocent about it, but it feels sophisticated and clean without being clinical. It’s perfect for daytime, the office, casual outings, and even low-key evening events when you want something light and charming. While it’s not a room-filling scent, it has a soft, airy presence that lingers gently. I imagine this would be perfect for someone effortlessly elegant, lighthearted but refined, gentle, and intelligent. Someone who doesn't go out of their way to stand out, but who is a delight once you get to know them. It doesn't last more than 3-4 hours on me, but its delicacy naturally comes with a shorter wear time. For such a tender fragrance, its longevity is comparable to others (e.g. Chance Eau Tendre), and I still catch a whiff of it up to 5 hours later if I bring my arm close to my face. Daisy Dream is just gorgeous; it's delicate, gentle, and versatile while feeling natural, huggable, and sweet. It's not surprising to me that this was created by one of the perfumery legends; it knows what it is and does it perfectly.

DREAM WHIP & Dew Drops. Signed by perfumers Alberto Morillas (Bright Crystal Versace) and Ann Gottlieb (5th Avenue Elizabeth Arden), this beauty opens with a dewy, fruity burst of pear-blackberry with citrus touches from grapefruit, that transitions into a sweet floral heart of wisteria-jasmine with fruity touches from litchi that has whipped, velvety & dewy qualities, all resting on a musky vanilla-wood base with coconut nuances. Overall there is a whipped & velvety quality with a shampoo & tea vibe in the background. Average performance with a small scent bubble on my skin, however some reviewers have cited performance issues. Contrast to Daisy Marc Jacobs: These are different, but there are some similarities with the Daisy DNA. Daisy Dream has a whipped, dewy quality that's more forward. Performance is roughly equivalent. Contrast to Yellow Diamond Versace: These are different, but there are some similarities with light fruity florals. YD is more citrus forward, and has mimosa. Performance is roughly equivalent. Contrast to Daisy Eau So Fresh Marc Jacobs: These are different, but there are some similarities with the Daisy DNA. DESF leans greener, while Daisy Dream has a more forward whipped quality. Performance is roughly equivalent or slightly better for DD. Contrast to Bright Crystal Versace: These are different, but there is a similar vibe with light fruity florals. BC has more forward red fruit, while DD has a more forward whipped pear. Performance is roughly equivalent. Contrast to Dot Marc Jacobs: These are different, but there is a similar vibe of light fruity florals, and the Marc Jacobs DNA. Dot has a more forward honeysuckle, while DD has a more forward whipped pear. Performance is superior in DD. Overall: Average performance for a light summer wearing experience, and a beautiful scent profile, this is the perfect scent for daydreaming. It's a love for me. Enjoy!

I decided to wear this today, a few spritzes and I am suddenly transported back to my late teens-early 20s, I loved this back then and I still love it now so I'm still not sure why I havent' reviewed it yet, so here goes! I love the Daisy line (but not 100% sure if I like Daisy love..), but this was my first ever proper perfume that I bought for myself early on in my fragrant adventures, partly influenced at the time by a youtuber, Emma Blackery since I was a huge fan and she stated that Daisy Dream was one of her favourites when she uploaded a video all about perfumes and partly because of the beautiful bottle and blue juice. I wore Daisy Dream daily all the way through 2017 and rotated between Daisy Dream and Daisy Eau So Fresh for a while until I sort of lost interest in mid 2019 and we parted our ways, until I realised I didn't own the OG Daisy and that I should really complete the trio, so I started wearing all three from time to time again. The opening is a mixture of fresh and sweet; a true fruity floral, I get a hit of blackberry almost immediately before it dries down, I can then smell grapefruit, litchi and some wisteria before it dries down to a blackberry/wisteria musk, its quite simple, yes I can see why some think its generic but I love it for its clean simplicity, I don't really pick up on the coconut, jasmine, pear or white woods though personally. I don't have any issues with longevity, 5 spritzes give me 6 hours of wear with a light silage, its an easy reach scent which is totally office safe, perfect for casual wear and I can see why people would like this as a signature, heck! it was MY signature for a fair while. Repurchase? probably!

I blind bought this today because it was surprisingly cheap at my local Walmart and I have always thought the bottle is absolutely gorgeous. It smells really fresh, clean like a light cologne, leaning more towards the feminine side of course. Some of the reviews define it as girly, and as one who loves sweet and fruity florals, but also enjoys unisex fragrances, this is not my girliest perfume? Maybe I am not the most experienced with pure florals. I find that the projection and longevity are great on my skin, maybe because I live in a drier weather? Idk but I loved it, it was a great addition. As soon as I sprayed it on, it drove me crazy how it reminded me of something, I reached for my Acqua di Goia which was my first guess, similar but no: this smelled EXACTLY like something I couldn’t put my finger on! After finally giving into the urge of finding out and searching for it in fragantica, sure enough, it smells exactly like Versace Yellow Diamond which I used to own. Maybe it lacks a tiny bit of the sweet component at opening but then the dry down is even more similar. Someone compared it to Light Blue which I also own, they do smell like the same category but imagine that one is an incredibly sweet lemonade with a little bit of a sexy masculine kick, this is more like a flower tea with lemon and a teaspoon of sugar if that makes sense lol.

My first ever “big girl” perfume from Sephora. Christmas of ninth grade. I loved how ethereal and fresh it smelled even as a teen. I remember feeling almost like they’d bottled my very essence. I didn’t ask for a perfume that year, so I remember being very touched that my mother and father saw this lovely blue bottle dotted with white daisies and associated it with me (: It is soft and does not project heavily, which in my opinion makes it perfect for school or work. As a fraghead I understand the appeal of wanting to leave behind a scent trail and turn heads with your fragrance, but I feel as though there’s a certain romance in very intimate scents. I imagine a kiss from a lover on the wrist and neck, and a quick inhale of sweetness. I really love this scent. I found my old, near-empty bottle and gave myself a spritz on a whim and I now feel compelled to repurchase. Things that come to mind: pre-Raphaelite paintings, sea nymphs, dew drops, girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes, Ophelia’s watery deathbed, the last unicorn.
