French Garden Flowers Jasmine

I loved this one and also the gardenia version. They were both male magnets, and lasted on my skin forever! The French Garden Flowers collection had a very earthy (perhaps mossy), essential oils quality. Please bring them back!

A gorgeous perfume and very beautiful bottle. I adored it. I too wish it would come back.

I love the jasmine. Where can I find it?

I was cleaning out a cabinet I hadn't touched in over two years. What should I find but two full bottles of French Flowers I'd forgotten. The scent is as fresh as when I bought them several years ago since they'd not been opened and have waited patiently in the dark for me. I priced them on e-bay and almost fell out of my seat to read the asking prices. Well Fragranticans, I'm worth it to wear French Flowers this spring and summer. I will imagine myself sitting in a fragrant garden surrounded by jasmine and other luscious scents as I read through a few selected travel books and novels early in Texas (hot)summer mornings. And later after the sun has baked the garden and I must take up the tasks on hand, I will refresh my scent. Aaah, the joy of fragrance!

I just purchased an 8oz bottle of Alyssa Ashley French Garden Flowers cologne produced by Houbigant. It is the Wisteria version which isn't listed on Fragrantica. Almost smells like a very lightly spicy, lightly sweet tuberose with lilac undertones. Since I've never smelled Wisteria in real life, I have nothing to go by whether it smells this way in nature. Whether it does or not this is a beautiful scent. Very soft, lovely flowers, a little indolic too as real flowers are. Nice silage for a cologne, and longevity is not bad either. One great thing about this perfume is that despite being decades old there is zero degradation of the notes. It is intact all the way through, smells very fresh, and also good quality. This does not smell at all synthetic and I am sure that real absolutes were used in the making of this fragrance. 10/2022 Edit - I had the good fortune to actually smell Wisteria when visiting my friend in North Carolina this past summer - (Camelia too 😊), and I can say with certainty, that Ashley's French Garden Flowers Wisteria smells exactly like the real thing. Much more so than any other fragrance I've smelled to date featuring that note.

mystica, maybe it was French Garden Flowers Wisteria? I researched and there was no Tuberose made for Houbigant's Alyssa Ashley series. The Wisteria version smells just like a tuberose/lilac to me. I really wish Fragrantica would add the rest of the flankers. Besides the Jasmin listed on this site, there is also Rose, Lilac, Bouquet, Gardenia, and of course, the Wisteria, which I have. The bottles aren't plastic though. They are all made of glass, even the mini bottles.

My very first fragrance (the Rose one). I bought several different flower versions as a young teen and then continued to be a loyal customer all throughout my teen years. But rose was my most favorite and I repeat bought that one several times. It was a truly gorgeous rose scent (all of them were beautiful) I tried “Tea Rose” by a more upscale house, back then, and I remember truly disliking it compared to my Alyssa Ashley drugstore rose. My stepmother, a very stylish and beautiful lady, was who introduced me to these fragrances, and she used the rose, too, until at one point she started wearing Poison (which I also love, and own a vintage bottle of) I also had the lilac and gardenia in this line. These were great. I received lots of compliments. I remember them lasting phenomenally well, actually. I am gonna swipe a couple bottles off eBay, soon.

I have a very distant memory of some quite pleasant, sweet, floral cologne, which came in little plastic bottles to carry with you; just like they did with 4711 by Muelhens. I was maybe 3, so I don't remember, but I do get a strong feeling that it was this cologne, due to the floral patterned sticker as well as the fact that Alyssa Ashley was/is common in the UK. Now when someone mentions tuberose, it can make sense! It also had a musky base.
