Cotton Candy

It is a sweet fragrance but not as gourmand as many say. The musk and freesia are very strong, on the dry down still very musky, raspberry and floral with sweetness. No hint of whipped cream or cotton candy.

Sugared raspberry musk. A very lightweight gourmand scent. The scent composition is concerning at first sight but it's very well-balanced and well-blended. A comfortable smooth pink candy scent. Average sillage and good longitivity. Not bad.

Make sure to test it on your skin, on my skin i didn't like the smell it smelled almost medicinal or like a diaper with urine, I'm not joking this is my skin chemistry with it but it does smells good on clothes thankfully. Careful for spraying i don't think it's overspray safe like maximum 4 sprays is enough.

Am I the first to review? Woah! Well, anyway, this is SWEET. I mean, I knew it would be sweet going in, I'm not like shocked or anything, but if you have any doubts: this is cavity-inducing and not particularly complex, but really enjoyable. The freesia up top is definitely present and reminds me a bit of Nuha Vanilla Pearl, but the rest is raspberry cotton candy all the way down. I don't notice any true similarities to the YBM DNA, which was my main fear - it's pink and fluffy but very much in its own lane. There's also, interestingly, a faint similarity to the Dubai Chocolate Pistachio Kunafa scent from the same line - not sure if it's just a house thing (these are the only Afnan scents I own) but it's like a back-of-the-throat scratchiness shared between these two scents. I like this a lot better than Pistachio Kunafa, though, which mostly smells like KitKats on me. This is also pretty long lasting for a super sweet confectionary scent like this - I applied at around 7pm last night and could still smell traces on my skin when I woke up at 6am! And that's from a brand new bottle that was shipped (only within my city via ground transport, but still) in below-freezing temps. I'm intrigued to see how much its longevity develops with age.

It absolutely DOES NOT smell anything like JHG's Powder Love, that one is soft, fluffy and sweet, while this one is sharp, chemically and smells off, kinda like raspberry drenched in some strong alcohol. I also smell rose, but it's not listed in the notes. It's unfortunately pretty long-lasting tho. Very disappointed with the purchase.
