Sapphire Avri

*disclaimer: i just received this perfume today (01/15/25), i'm giving my first impressions and will update over time, especially as this is a newer bottle.* although i love blueberry, i passed over sapphire avri a few times. then one day i reread the notes and it clicked-- is this a blueberry version of lira? immediate purchase. so glad i made the connection because i love this fragrance. first, on its own: the opening is not my favorite. on clothes, i smell more of the blueberry (i get a more blueberry soda/candy scent vs fresh or blueberry jam) which is lovely. but my skin chemistry pulls a lot of the blood orange, pith included, and licorice, which i don't care for. luckily, it only lasts for a couple minutes. the remainder of the fragrance i get a vanilla cake-like dry down with a light caramel drizzle and a touch of blueberry. i don't get enough blueberry to call it a blueberry muffin or something similar, but still a very sweet gourmand. i do wish the citrus lasted until the drydown to add a bit of tartness. too soon to test longevity, but it projects moderately with a lovely scent trail. side by side w/ lira: sapphire avri not only has the blueberry and bitter blood orange citrus opening, but the caramel in the dry down isn't as deep as it is in lira. i would definitely call this an inspiration with a twist. the drydown is similar, but airier, less rich of a caramel, and lacking the lemon (which i feel helps round out the fragrance and cut through the sweetness of lira). sapphire avri scratches the itch while being a pretty fragrance overall. it has softer projection than lira at the time of review, but hopefully it'll perform better over time. edit 03/09/25: the projection has improved and i get more of a deep blueberry note, reminiscent to blueberries baked into a dessert vs syrupy artificial blueberry. the licorice is still a prominent note and the bitter orange is basically nonexistent. it's closer to lira's density now, but not in terms of the caramel. this smells more like a fancy photorealistic blueberry pound cake-- think if blueberry bundt cake from b&bw had a bougie older sister. i wish the citrus was still there, but this layers beautifully with my lemon forward fragrances.

I bought Avri’s Aroma Concepts sampler. It includes Sapphire, Rubi and Jewel. The 10ml travel sprays are thick glass and very substantial, and the atomizer is fantastic. I definitely get why people have referred to this as the ‘blueberry Lira’. Such an enjoyable gourmand! I love the citrusy blueberry top notes, and get quite a bit of vanilla and caramel in the dry down. The musk isn’t a key player, but it keeps things from getting too foodie. I love this one and can’t wait to try the other two from the set! 9/10

I only smelled the blueberry, vanilla and musky notes. I'm sure the other notes are present, but the blueberry is the most forward to my nose. The dry down is a like a powdery mixture of blueberry-vanilla elixir. It lasts forever on my skin and leaves a scent trail. I get alot of compliments when I wear it, and I don't have it pair with anything as it's already beast mode by itself. I love it, and I will be repurchasing it.

Really pretty scent! Def smell the blueberry with a hint of citrus. The citrus cuts down the sweet of the blueberry and gives it a fresh, light twist. Very very pretty scent! No idea on longevity as it needs to macerate. Was bottled in the last month. Edit: 8/1/25 - Dry down smells like bug spray or a citronella candle. Not a fan.

Sapphire avri is delicious and beautiful it’s a blueberry crumb cake with caramel and vanilla it smells amazing in the cold weather I wore this when I was in Chicago I got so many compliments. I don’t similar vibes to lira or devotion I don’t even like those fragrances I’m obsessed with this

This smells soooo good! Yes it smells like Lira but with a more pronounced lemon note. The blueberry is still faint and I also get a bit of Aquolina Berry Blast in this as well. That’s actually a great idea to layer them both!!

Right off the bat it reminds of lemon blueberry pound cake. It is delicious & light. Pretty good staying power but the sillage and strength is more mellow.

Probably my favorite out of the 3 in this line! Its delicious! And lasts a long time too!

Delightful opening is smoother than Lira, less agressive with the blueberry buffering the lemon tang. Dry down on my skin is basically a less dense, fluffier Lira. I find neither this, nor Lira, similar to Devotion which distinctly smells like lady perfume with a lemon note. This and Lira are both much more gourmand and unisex.

First review! Sapphire is the most interesting of the collection but also the weakest. I would have LOVED more blueberry here as the citrus notes seem to kind of swallow everything. This is definitely an edible gourmand; more fruity pebbles cereal bars rather than lemon blueberry tart though!

The scent itself is very nice. I get all the notes and I enjoy it. The problem is that after several months of maturation under proper conditions, Sapphire has extremely poor longevity, both on skin and clothes and within 2 hrs. becomes a very close skin scent fading shortly after to nothing. It's initially potent enough but loses it's vigor within minutes after spraying. I purchased my bottle during it's original release from Aroma Concepts, so it's certainly authentic. I have to over-spray in order to get the performance that I have described above, using 10-15 sprays. I am not going nose blind, other family members are unable to smell it also after that 2 hr. mark. Scent DNA 8.5/10 Longevity 2/10 Sillage 2/10 Packaging 7/10 Cost 2/10 It's over priced, poor performance, poor sillage, nice bottle, pleasant scent.

Got this in the mail today, manufactured 12/2024. I sprayed 5 times straight into the box and then twice on my wrists and ???? The box has already gone back to smelling like cardboard in maybe 15 minutes or so. My inner wrists went from smelling straight up like pledge (all lemon, something artificial, nothing edible) to smelling more like lemon-blueberry chapstick. Almost edible, like you want to taste it just once but when you do all you taste is unsweetened petroleum or something. If I smelled this in a drug store I probably wouldn’t have bought it. If I blind smelled this I’d guess it came from a 5 Below (a store in the US that only sells things for $5 and below) And for the record I LOVE Lira. Its my second favorite scent of all time next to Devotion but this one misses the mark completely. Instead of a delightful blueberry addition, it doesn’t do the OG any justice and to add insult to injury the blueberry note is basically non-existent. I was excited about the play between licorice, lemon, and blueberry since Blue Sugar is another one of my all time faves but again, nothing there. Gonna leave it on the shelf for a few more months. Gorgeous bottle. Nothing else to show for the money spent. Most disappointing purchase of the year for $45.

Smells really delicious in the opening to me! Like a lemon pound cake. I am not really a gourmand girly but I would love this in a candle form. The dry down is very synthetic vanilla and I'm not a fan. Friends and family could not smell the cake smell. My sister said it smelled like lemon pledge, another friend said it was "spicy" and my husband also didn't get cake scent only vanilla. So sadly not for me. I was hoping for more blueberry.

Tart, sweet, musky blueberry citrus scent. In theory it’s nice. Unfortunately, I’ve had it for several weeks, and few times Ives worn it it becomes a subtle skin scent in literally five minutes. Of course, most middle eastern cheapie gourmands take 1-3 to peak as far as smoothness, sweetness and density. But I’m kinda doubting this one.

This isn’t available in the UK yet it seems, but the idea of Lira + blueberry has me checking Google everyday!

wanna be copy of lira without licorice . Its ok , nothing all that.
