Royal Taboo

I've spent a few days with this and his other release with French Avenue and I have to admit that I am thoroughly impressed with not only the performance, but also the quality of the oils and the quality of the presentation as well!!! I've got niche fragrances that I paid well over the $200 mark for that fall short of these two in multiple if not all areas and have a much higher rating than either of his releases do. I hate that people are unable to just judge the fragrance and presentation as it comes and not base the rating on anything else. When it comes to this scent in particular, it's very, very well done and not at all challenging to my nose in any way. I imagined that the cinnamon and wood accords would be much more prominent than they are and this leads to a much smoother, well rounded tobacco fragrance than you normally get. While it might lean just a tiny bit masculine, I still rated it as unisex down the middle because I don't think it's enough to pull it in the masculine direction. I find that this one gets better the longer into the wear you get and performance is on par with my other strongest fragrances. It's definitively in one of my top 10, and the other one, Carnal Desire is even stronger! Though, I think it's best when you first put it on and get the great opening which does last for a good 2 hours on that fragrance!!! So far I have been very impressed with French Avenue, Lattafa and Paris Corner and I think Neeb made a wise decision given his personal tastes to go with one of these brands to manufacture and distribute his creatively directed projects. I would have done the same myself. These brands are doing more for the customers and innovations in the industry than I think any of the larger designer or niche houses are. Both of his releases are very good smelling and compliment pulling fragrances though Carnal Desire might be for a more seasoned enthusiast due to the profile, but I think they are unbelievably good bargains and I look forward to seeing more from him and French Avenue soon.

Nose Note #700 This one has the least amount of votes and reviews out of four (P.S. when I first wrote this review there were only four releases in the line up) and I don't know why. Maybe people are afraid of the tobacco note, but just like with most apparently tobacco centered fragrances - I can't smell any tobacco. If anything this is more coca cola type of fragrance. It's slightly similar to the recent Tabac'N'Coke. It's somewhat similar to TF Tobacco Vanille. But ultimately it's a thing on its own. I haven't smelled the OG or any other clones of Centaurus, but this is pretty special. I'd say this definitely has a mass appealing set up. It doesn't smell very niche, it's not overly heavy. It's just a masterfully done fragrance. More masculine. For me this was a win from the first spray. I often think "hm, do I like this or not?", but here it was like "damn, I like this a lot". 9/10, amazing UPD: more like 8.5, it got tiring pretty quickly. Definately an occasional fragrance, i.e. better suits something solemn. Comparing this to Boundless - Royal Taboo doesn't stand a chance. Boundless is just so much more interesting, but ultimately the two are different scents. It is also stronger though! Great longevity and sillage, I give it that! And the scent is super memorable, this is a big plus

My first association was immediate and unexpected: imagine a fresher crossover between Thierry Mugler Pure Havane and Burberry London. Two references you wouldn’t naturally pair, yet somehow it works perfectly here. There’s a warmth built on cinnamon and ginger cookies vibe that never tips into gourmand excess — it stays refined, almost powdery, with a sweet “camphor”note running underneath that keeps things interesting and slightly cool against all that coziness. That contrast is what makes it compelling. This is a December fragrance through and through. It conjures scarves, snow, wool suits, and everything that comes with the holiday season — not in a cheap or obvious way, but in the way a well-dressed man smells walking out of the cold into a warm room. Cozy without being casual. Quality feels top tier. There’s a gentlemanly restraint to it that elevates what could have easily been a straightforward sweet fragrance into something with real character and composure. A crossover you didn’t see coming — but one that earns its place immediately.

I'm a huge fan of tobacco fragrances as long as they are done well. This has that fresh cut very authentic type tobacco smell. Almost like opening a fresh pack of Marlboro Reds! (Man I miss smoking! 🚬💨 😂) There is something very familiar to this scent profile yet it has some niche qualities to it as well. The quality is top notch.. especially for the price point. In my opinion, it's unisex leaning a little masculine. After reading other comments I feel like I'm one of few people who didn't have any issues with leaking bottles or piss poor performance. Not going to give it a rating only because I'm starting to get annoyed with all of the "wannabe" overnight fragrance professionals who crap on good fragrances just because there not mainstream enough. It's a very well done unisex, tobacco forward fragrance. Good job Neeb! Let the haters hate..

💫SWAPPING💫 Too masc for my taste but this is macerated, has never leaked a drop, I don’t get a ton of cinnamon &/ or cardamom (very well blended smelling after months of maceration) batch produced 8/25, i personally opened & sprayed her 5x to get any old juice out of the tube & help kick start maceration ⭐️no problem offering ample proof of legitimacy as a swapper/ seller [email protected] (Layers beautifully out of the box w/ my favorite Althair schmoop by a long shot- Khadlaj Island Vanilla Dunes, a true 100ml extrait de parfum - gorgeous ombre dimpled heavy glass bottle with a brass placard you could do your lipstick in & a brass top/ paperweight... too masc for my tastes)

I just received my bottle and to be honest this is a great fragrance. I know most want to critiize to the extreme but if we take away any bias, this is very good. Its nothing unique because I smelled something similar before so it is deifinitely duping something but not Herod as claimed by fragrantica. So far on paper it oozes of sweetness and tobacco. I am not just a fan of Heliotrope. Other than that it is a job well done from Aromatix. But after wearing it I don't know why I keep smelling Naxos... You heard it right.. Naxos. Well great fragrance for the price.

Hello Good people Please don't buy this perfume royal taboo I respect Neeb Alot but what I had a experience with this Royal taboo very bad I bought 2 of them one royal taboo and one carnal desire Royal taboo when I received as soon I opened the box sprayer leaking juice was everywhere in the Box cheap fragrance and cheap quality bottle also when I contacted the Jomashop bad customer service don't buy any perfume from Jomashop please I am trying to contact with Neeb but no response from him either

Aside from the harsh synthetic opening (though it’s softer than three other Aromatix fragrances I’ve tested), this is a wonderful sweet tobacco scent that I really enjoyed. I ended up wearing it for two days after first trying it, and I’m already in love with the scent. Very masculine yet sweet — I now understand where the “Royal” in the name comes from. It’s worth more than what it delivers. I’m ordering a full bottle after trying the sample.

Maybe this needs to macerate but it isn't as beast mode as I thought it would be. I get cardamom, cinnamon and tobacco for the most part. Sillage and longevity are above average but like i say not beast mode. 8/10. Only lasts a few hours on my skin at the moment and only projects slightly above average. Edit: this has benefited from maceration. Scent profile hasn't changed much but it is definitely stronger and lasts longer.

Royal taboo is a very masculine fragrance. It starts with burst of spices and settles on a sweet yet warm tobacco and patchouli heavy scent. It's potent so be careful when applying it. I applied it to my hand, and it stayed the whole day, even after I washed my hand. It's one of the best Aromatix in my opinion Teas me 5/10 Sun kissed 7.5/10 Forbidden fruit 6/10 X xandal 8/10 Royal tobacco 8/10 Carnal desire 9/10

When I first got it a few months ago, I wasn't that impressed with the scent or its longevity. Trying it again it seems to have gotten a lot stronger and matured quite a bit. Smells very similar to Creed's cenarius, but I feel it has a bit more going on and is much more appealing. It lasts 12+ hours on my skin and leaves an enchanting scent trail.

Absolutely nice! If you enjoy woody and amber scents this you will love this! I had a chance to smell them both while in Dubai and they’re both amazing. My skin picks up the tobacco, amber and spicy notes. It’s truly so nice, they both smell like they would easily be worth twice of what they will be selling for. A masterpiece. Congrats Aromatix!

Hello Good people Dont buy any perfume from Jomashop they sold me 2 perfume ROYAL TABOO and CARNAL DESIRE as soon I opened the box bottle perfume leaking from the sprayer bottle cheaply made and fragrance too and Jomashop not accepting return perfume smells very synthetic I am trying to contact with Neeb Aromatix perfume but no response

Got it this week, wearing it today, by far the best of Aromatix line in my opinion , even better than X Xnandal .. spicy semi sweet tobacco .. great for cold weather .. i love Khamra but this is just amazing.. out of the box performance is moderate and i believe it will certainly get better with maceration .. unisex .. 10/10 🩷🩷🩷🩷

This perfume ticks many boxes for me. Especially an important one. I've had the itch to purchase Boss Bottled Absolu for a while now. Ever since I got this I haven't felt the need to bother anymore. That's a big deal for me. Absolu was the best designer of 2024 for me personally. It really is a big deal to me.

A lovely spicy, amber, tobacco perfume with a great performance. Lasts and projects well. Comes in a lovely stone effect bottle that is well made. Just got this today as a birthday present from my wife. My first Aromatix. Reminds me of Asad. It's a love from me.

I've had this one for a while now, so it has matured a fair amount, while buying GIT I got to try Centaurus too, I was absolutely BLOWN AWAY by how similar it is, practically no difference, so I think it's safe to say that this is a near 1:1 to Centaurus

I’m really looking forward to these. Neeb, the owner and influencer of Aromatix is a genuine dude and he has poured his soul into his work to launch these. They aren’t up my alley as far as scent profile, but I’m definitely picking them all up.

I get pdm Layton vibes with this one. This and carnal desire both have a prominent lip stick smell as well. This also smells similar to insurrection 2 wild. But yeah I get that cherry menthol opening very reminiscent of Layton.

Okay this is very similar to Centaurus but BEAST MODE it’s smooth tobacco ambery sweet scent I absolutely love it doesn’t smell too mature or anything

Ok, I really want to like this one.. but I am struggling with the feminine side of the frag... I think it smells very close to Herod by PDM, but the Jasmine and Heliotrope give it this feminine vibe that I just don't jive with. I have Herod and I have Arabian Horse by Alexandria Fragrances, and I would reach for those before I reach for this one... I think it smells good, and it lasts forever... but I really gravitate more towards things that are masculine, or perfectly unisex... I think Neeb did a nice job here, but I don't think it's anything revolutionary in terms of adding something new. I'm going to let this sit for a month or so, and come back to it... as I really want to like this one. I'll give it some more wearing's as well, to see if I warm up to the floral aspect more... And if you like it, that's awesome... I think it is really well blended and has great performance, but I just struggle with feminine florals, as I'm pretty masculine, and tend to lean into frags that are as well. Maybe I need to lean more into my feminine side, but I'm just not there yet... =)

Fragrance World doesn't joke around with their French Avenue line. Every one of their fragrances I own are strong and last a long time. This Aromatix collab is no different. It opens totally different, but as it dries down, it reminds me of PdM Althair. It has similarities while remaining its own thing. I'm enjoying it out of the box. I don't love the scent profile, but I do like it. This juice is impressively potent and is nicely complex. I sprayed six times on my arm to "purge" the line before I put it away for a few weeks to macerate and it's driving me crazy. I hope it doesn't get any stronger with time, because this stuff is already too strong. Why can't my $300 fragrances hit this hard?

I always mention and many perfumers agree that spices and tobacco are notoriously tough to balance. The opening is where that challenge shows: it’s intense, almost overwhelming, and my nose locks onto the cardamom so hard that it dominates the entire experience at first. The dry-down tells a very different story, much smoother and more wearable, but that punchy opening really sticks with me. Because of that, there's no way I could pull this off in spring or summer. it’s not a mass-appealing or crowd-pleasing fragrance. I’ll be letting it macerate and saving it for the cooler months when its boldness can really shine.

The first time I tried this months ago, it didn't go well. It had a very weird drydown that smelled off, and I hated it! I gave it another try today, and I've completely changed my mind. That weird drydown was replaced by a smoky, spicy amber that reminds me of RM's Incense Wood. I like it now, but to my nose it's so similar to Incense Wood that owning both would be redundant.

Cinnamon, reminds me of Creed Centaurus. Evening formal, cold weather, creamy character. 4 stars, long lasting with solid heavy projection. Gentlemen >40. I like it for special occasions not necessarily for the office. Pricing around $40-60. Would buy again.

This is for sale on Joma Shop now for $60. Picked up a bottle tonight, and will report back once I get my nose on it. I'm passing on the other one, as I think it will be too sweet for my liking, but this one is right up my alley.

A few years ago a buddy of mine took me to a Fuente Cigar event in Philly on quest for some Opus X. I am a novice with cigars but I can appreciate the art, and the taste, and feeling of kicking back without a care In the world to participate in a leisurely event like this. At this event I had the privilege of hanging out in the back room, smoking cigars with a bunch of random older dudes. We were sitting around talking crap about life, work, things that happened, dreams yet to happen. Every now and then a few younger guys would join in; no one judged, everyone was welcome - there was always a connection in the smoke filled room all centered around these amazing cigars. It was an amazing experience. I will never forget that feeling after leaving the lounge; that feeling of nausea and dizziness because I over did it. I will also never forget that smell...sweat cigar ash - permeating off my body. It was coming off me like it was part of my dna ... thick ashy sweetness. THAT is what this fragrance reminds me of. Its not nearly as ashy, but its just enough of a cigar resemblance to take me back. However for me this is not a good thing ... its just too much too strong (and I love my strong beastly fragrances). The scent is very high quality, and well done, but Its untamable and too much of a certain profile that it bothers me. Nothing layers with it; it is just all consuming all devouring all dominating. That is just my opinion, I've tried for many months to like it but its just not my thing, but if you like strong tobacco scents I think this would be a good one for you.

This perfume has frustrated me and disappointed me. Neeb 1st teased us asians by not launching it in dubai inspite the production factory of fragrance world being in dubai. Made us wait for months. Kept tempting us with hardselling promos and reviews online. Just got this to mumbai1 month back from fragrance world in diera dubai. Since i am a sucker of tobacco fragrances, i ordered 2 bottles of this and one of carnal desire. To my nose this one was subdued and weak as hell. I have 16 tobacco fragrances. Some niche like initio side effect, kutay from unique luxury, alexandria's hafez, justbox fiftyfour, red tobacco, guerlain l' ideal extreme. Then some 5 ibrahim al qurashi's, one kuwaiti brand called dores paris's napolean. Tobacco 01 from swiss arabian and some more. So i have good experience of tobacco fragrances. So from someone like me who respects neeb a lot it was a big big disappointment. I think the 1st and the best batch was sent to all big influencers and some perfume discounters in usa and which is why these impressive reviews. Carnal desire on the otber hand is a beast. Sorry brother neeb but i had to tell the truth.

As much as I dislike Neeb's current content now that he's pretty much a spokesperson for the clone brands, at least he never puts his signature on bad stuff. This is an easier wearing, lighter and less nuanced version of Centaurus. It totally nails the "cinnamon red hots" aspect of the og (if you get that part in Centaurus you will get the same thing). The rest is not replicated perfectly, but that is not necessarily a bad thing, as Centaurus does get attention, but is not the most mass appealing of blends. This is much safer and easier to wear. Even though it's quite linear, it doesn't smell like a million other perfumes, and is a good winter night scent on its own. Performance is good, it projects well without becoming obtrusive for 2 hours, then sits closer to the skin for 4 more. Good one.

I give Aromatix credit for doing his thing. Pros: The blend has no harsh clone attributes and is good. This could pass for a designer as far as oil quality. Cons: It doesn't do anything for me—it's a dry, good-ish-smelling tobacco scent. I wish it had something that stood out. but unfortunately, it doesn't. Average performance as of the time I got my bottle. This is sample-worthy. I look forward to his fresh releases from French Ave and will sample those in the future.

Somehow this perfume reminds me of Red tobacco by Mancera but a bit sweeter, less harsh and more wearable. It opens with ashy tobacco and strong spices and after a few mins you scan smell vanilla and some jammy fruits which ads smoothness and sweetness and tones the initial harshness down. But It's too much for me. Too much spices, too much tobacco and too sweet. It has a great projection though and perfect for cold weather.

This is a beast of a fragrance. Go easy or you'll end up with a headache. I already have a fragrance that is almost exactly like Royal Taboo and that is Rayhaan Crimson. This is a cinnamon and sharp tobacco bomb. Like I mentioned before it is a strong scent. I don't think it's a good blind buy either.

This smells NOTHING like Centaurus, Centaurus is pure bliss soooooo good! Royal taboo is nice but a touch too cinnamon-y. The mixture of cinnamon, benzoin & amber is making this a touch too sweet, dense & dry on my skin. The tobacco is almost mute in here, it’s all about the cinnamon.

I just received this and it smells 1:1 to tobacco vanilla by tom ford, so close to I believe this projects a little bit more hopefully it can be reformulated so that the vanilla is more sweet and the amber and wood more present so far I only get vanilla and tobacco from aroma.

I've tested both dupes hand by hand and this becomes to a skin scent pretty easy within minutes and rayhaan crimson on the other hand is stronger, projects and has good silleage I layer both together for best performance.

90% Centaurus. Un aroma extremadamente dulce para mi gusto. El tabaco y myrra muy prominentes. No veo ocaciones para su uso. Buena calidad, pero aroma sin uso. 6/10

I have this. I received it this evening. I like the heaviness of the bottle. It feels like it was cut from a rock. The name on the bottle is a little much but it doesn't bother me. The box presentation is very good. As for the fragrance. I have no idea how people say this fragrance is eternal. The fragrance has almost no scent at all. I was very happy to see a YouTuber go for his dream and actually sell his product at a great price that everyone could buy. My excitement quickly faded when I sprayed multiple times and get an extremely faint scent. The oil sheen is there, but the fragrance is absent. What I smell is a faint amber and cashmere fragrance. I'm going to contact Jomashop to find out how to obtain a bottle swap. This must be a defective fragrance.

Such a weird fragrance. Opens up very synthetic, dries down to a cacophony of spices, powder, mixed with some ashy tobacco and vanilla. No cohesion between the notes, quite a mess to be honest. Old woman smell. Sample before buying and don't believe the hype blindly, I dont like it

I've always had good luck with French Avenue, but even the best brands miss once in a while. This smells so bad. It's a hot mess of spices all thrown together with no direction. I haven't tested this side by side with Centauras, but I have smelled the original before. This does not remind me of the original. I'll see if I have better luck with Rayhaan Crimson.

I just got this yesterday, already had the cardinal desire and was some what impressed as for it's price point it's definitely value for money. Is it the best thing ever like neeb claims, no, not even close but realistically speaking it's a sweet raspberry jam, with leather & the bottle is stunning and performance seems to be fairly decent. But we here for Royal taboo, now the comments on here nearly put me off, Infact it did until the price was too good to resist especially that I e comment below which says it smells like under neebs hat... Listen, if your going to go of one persons comments or advice 1st of all don't! 2ndly I'm going to be brutally honest. This stuff is a georgous scent, and it reminds me of 2 other recent picks up which is Boss bottle Absolu & riffs golden elixir reserve. Theres a bourbon liquor, cinnamon tabbacoo resemblance to those. I can't talk to much about performance because I have let it sit for a while, get it to it's full potential but out the gate it smells amazing. To be able to pick something like this up for the £22 mark is insane but even double that I would have been happy. I like the profile. It lasts for hours, not sure it projects loudly although my son could smell it and said it smells lovely that being said he much prefers the cardinal desire. I would consider these 2 bangers for there price and honestly this fragrance isn't just hype, there's serious craftsmanship that went into these. I heard neeb take an oath and said I'd rather loss money or not make a profit than put out something I wasn't proud about & it shows. I doubt if he making much from the deal but they are really well made. The presentation is one of the best bottles and boxes I have, price point is great & the 2 I have makes me want to get more & i'll be looking out for the next releases. I am no fan boi of Neebs, his content is good & I like him as a person but I know he over hypes many fragrance world perfume that doesn't exactly perform good so I like to keep it 💯 but they did solid work with these products!

Wow, this is lovely. This fragrance opens with a warmth and spiciness that is both inviting and comforting, to me. It's ambery with a subtle resinous sweetness that I'm finding so captivating, beautifully blended and balanced. I’m really happy to have ordered this! Right now, I'm picking up on a smooth, comforting layer of tobacco and cashmere wood, along with soft notes of jasmine. There’s a soft powderiness that rounds out the warmth. The base notes are evident to me too, the creamy sweetness of tonka bean and vanilla, intertwined with an earthy patchouli and dry wood (sandalwood, maybe?) creating a refined, woody finish. This is so cozy and comforting! It feels niche-level. I can only imagine how much more beautifully it will develop. It’s nice to feel truly excited about a new fragrance.
