Tonka Gold

#1114 in my "Tour de Fragrance" This is obviously targeted at the many fans of Kilian "Angel's Share" and Lattafa's "Khamrah." Fruity, sweet, amber, cognac, cinnamon, like those fragrances, but the addition of iris, one of my favorite notes, sets this apart, but just a little. This is not as ambery and sweet as the Kilian, nor as woody as the Lattafa, which also has a bergamot note that helps set that scent apart from the Kilian. This sits a little lighter with the iris note giving it a slightly more feminine character, not so much that men won't wear it, and also makes it more office appropriate, whereas the Kilian and Lattafa come off more like you've been eating candy bars in your office. For me this is a moderate, but acceptable performer (makes it to lunch), and at $29 it's a safe blind buy. I still prefer "Khamrah Qahwah" to all of the above as I like the coffee note giving the scent a darker character, but this is nevertheless a great scent at a great price. Car pool, elevator and small office safe and good for date night, and for me, another successful blind buy.

HOLY S***! That’s it, that’s the review. This has me looking forward to fall, it that good. If you liked Khamrah, but thought it was a little bit too messy could use a little bit more blending. This is like that in essence but smoother richer more refined this smells expensive. This does not smell the way It’s priced. I need to get another bottle of this before people find out what this is and TikTok catches on more than they already have and this becomes a $50 fragrance.

Had to do a 2nd review. TG definitely the smoothest take on Angels Share. The plum in this pulls everything together, unlike Khamrah which I also have, Khamrah is good but it’s no where near as smooth (because of the bergamot/apple pie note). To me Khamrah is only appropriate for the holiday season, literally. But TG is fall winter and cool spring wear, and it’s just way more sexier. At first I rated TG 9.5, but after 3 months of letting it sit. I gotta up it to a 10/10.

This is such a beautiful, delicious, boozy, sweet, cozy, spicy, slightly powdery, woody, vanilla-tonka bean fragrance. I get approximately 7 hours longevity on skin and can still smell it on my clothes the next day. It projects beyond an arms length and creates the coziest scent bubble. A staple in my collection, for the fall, winter and cooler spring days. I absolutely love it.♥️

I purchased a bottle of this about a month ago and right out of the box I am absolutely loving it! Definitely a sleeper. It is warm, slightly sweet and intoxicating. On me, it is softly feminine that opens with just the right amount of cognac and spice that subtly moves into a captivating tonka and sandalwood dry down. Really loving it.

The most beautiful take on angels share. I thought I liked sharaf blend the most until I smelled this. This stuff is so much more sweeter and less dustier then khamrah and sharaf blend. My new fav twist on the angels share DNA without a doubt, for me this is a 10/10!!

Great fragrance. A $35 dupe for Calle Ocho by Fulton & Roark (which apparently is a dupe for Killian Angel Share)..Everyone is duping the popular fragrances. May as well get the best priced one.

I wonder which influencer started the rumor of it being discontinued. It seems popular so it didn't make sense. I asked Atria directly and they confirmed it was not being discontinued.

Absolutely amazing scent, smells just like Angels Share after about an hour. If you want a perfect fall and winter fragrance this is it.🍁🍂 Also this falls dead center in unisex

The GOAT of all GOAtS. 10/10 in every category. Best angel share inspo with plum and iris . 5 instant hand free squirts every time I spray it 💦💦💦. My soul leaves my body.

Buy it and store it for 2 to 3 months in cold dark place. This perfume becomes exceptionally close to Angel Share.

Such a delicious, warm cozy inviting fragrance. It reminds me of fresh baked Snickerdoodle cookies.

I know you all really like it, but I'm compelled to state the opposite, though it's not entirely the reverse. First of all, this bottle is blended quite well, the scent is smooth, but in terms of the scent's concentration, it's still less dense than AS, and therefore it creates a strange sensation that most AS clones following this direction (making the scent lighter than AS) encounter: it creates a feeling like "mint toothpaste". Yes, you heard right, the scent being made lighter than the original inadvertently created a mild, cool spiciness that I didn't recognize at first i'll explain later. It wasn't until about half a year later, after trying 6 or 7 clones, that I realized they were all following an almost identical path (about 90%). Tonka Gold is no exception. When I saw it rated quite highly, I was very curious and excited, but it wasn't until a few days ago that my local store had it. I had hoped TG would go in a different direction, subtle and gentle but different from the other clones, but unfortunately, it still followed that same path. However, among the clones, TG still performs very well when compared to the incredibly good price it offers. Among the cheapest (beside mid price and high-priced) AS clones, TG is the best for its price. The version that I found tried to maintain AS's concentration as much as possible is Lattafa Zikra. This is my favorite bottle from the Lattafa house and, in my opinion, the best they've ever made among all their fragrances, and it's also my most favorite AS clone until now. It doesn't cause that mint toothpaste feeling because it's made very rich and dense. --- So far, I've tried them in the following order from earliest to most recent: 1. Oud Old Fashioned Orientica – This is the first AS clone I owned, even before I tried the OG (I had this bottle for about 4 months before getting to try AS, I was addicted to OOF it's got me so many compliments) 2. Angel Share – After tried the original, I finally realized the issue with these clones 3. Kismet Angel 4. Zikra Lattafa – Initially, I first bought the 20ml bottle (also sold by Lattafa, and it was super, super bad), but after trying the 100ml bottle, I changed my mind 100% 5. Royal Blend – The most highly rated AS version, so I had high expectations, but it turned out to be mehh... 6. Tonka Gold 7. A few nameless bottles in the store near my house that I don't recall the names of 8. Some cheap versions at Marshall's priced at $16.9 I rate Atralia house quite highly, and I've also bought two bottles from them, Avalanche and Elixir, which are quite good; you can find and read my reviews on them. Thank you for reading this lengthy words. I just wanted to share everything I know because I truly love this DNA.

Had a sample of Angel's Share, and bought a full bottle of Tonka Gold. The initial spritz already smells different. Although both are boozy, with TG here is more powdery balsamic profile, likely from the iris; AS is has distinctly more cinnamon, and sandalwood, sweet and warm, reminiscent of baked apple pie, more gourmand. The dry down, TG is significantly more powdery, where as AG is more sweetness, the woody sweetness of the sandalwood. Both has similar longevity after 12 hours, AS perhaps very slightly more identifiable in projection, more unique. Prefer AS over TG. Now I wonder if I should just go for the full bottle of AS, yet the price :(

A nicer, more grown-up gourmand, smells like quality, natural, and a smooth blend. it wasn't great on receipt, did the maturation job for a month, and now it's a decent winter staple, vanilla, myrrh, tonka, laced with cinnamon. With every wear I love this more and more :) Bonus idea: I will layer this with Noel au Balcon for a spice-upgrade, then it will max out the Christmassy feeling :)

Compared to the OG I tested today at Sephora, 1:1 in terms of the scent profile if not popping more on the tonka side, the trained nose might pick up on some slight nuances. TG is slightly more addicting to me and I enjoy using it at home for some reason. Performance of TG, is okay it seems, haven’t worn it out enough to know the true projection. Happy with my purchase.

this rlly is such a smooooooooth smell. totally unisex. alluring and intoxicating. I wish it had more vanilla presence, it feels more like a boozy cashmere right now but I can’t stop smelling it— layered with the right true vanilla this would be perfect. longevity is objectively bad autumn candle

It’s not bad, especially for the price, and I will say that at least it does not have the sharp loud piercing chemical effect of the Khamrah fragrance line. I will admit that the Tonka note is quite nice. Unfortunately this is quite unisex, and I know that’s what it is, but it doesn’t appeal to my masculine taste as much as I would’ve hoped. Also, it doesn’t have a tremendous soft feminine side to it either. I think it might be best for layering, but the spiciness might make it difficult to work with. It does remind me of something that I believe is from Bath and body Works called Sol de Janeiro, but this has a less of a clean soapy softness, and more of a slightly boozy spiciness. I don’t know, this might grow on me after a while, but for now it just lands in “okay” territory.
