Quintessence

Opens bright, sweet and fruity. I get pear notes in the top amongst the mandarin and orange flower, which I like. It settles pretty quickly into a rather simple scent. A little bit of depth from the plum, orris and resin. The insipid praline doesn’t feel right here, it turns the musky, slightly ambery base a little sour. A short and sweet review this time because there’s nothing here that really stands out for me. Avant describe this as a semi-oriental floral but it’s more very lowkey amber and zero spice in this. To my nose, it’s more of a muted fruitchouli. There’s nothing wrong with it. It’s nice, inoffensive, easy to wear, a day time office fragrance. But it’s so underwhelming, I likely will never spray this again. It’s a bit like a washed out, very gentle La Vie est Belle.

Avant and Sentier fragrances are made by the same company. Avant skincare is well known as a white label product, with very high prices on their website, yet they offer items via Facebook ads for £4.99 p&p. The skincare and fragrances are used to pad out beauty boxes, so they can claim a high RRP and pretend you're getting a great bargain. I can't recommend that anyone should buy any of them. This has a faint chemical floral-fruity scent of low sillage and terrible longevity.
