SeaZone

I just acquired this at a thrift shop, and honestly it puts most modern aquatics to shame. It has a nice musky and woodsy base, refreshing salty and fresh opening. It feels to me like some notes are missing on the list here. In the beginning I get a very slight fruity note, something that adds a touch of sweetness & balance here, maybe a tart green apple or melon? It's not overloaded with Calones, the "aquatic" note here is more of a salty one to add freshness. In this aspect it's a bit similar to another summer favorite of mine, St Barts for her. But no lime here or tequila. I like the warmth, which must be the "solar" note, which honestly I'm not sure what a "solar note" comprises, but it does indeed smell sunny and warm, like sunshine hitting a sandalwood screen. There is a gorgeous soft, slightly sexy musk here in the base, and when added with a salty, beachy, "I've been in the sun all day" trifecta sends it into subtly sensual territory for me. I wanna douse myself in this wearing my bathing suit, lace dress & sun hat! If you can find this cheap juice, grab it & spray with abandon! It's a great summer scent, and the price makes it even more enjoyable!

I still have an original flask from 1992, the first ones are like the picture here, but the glass is crystal transparent. I've received it as a gift when I was 10 years old and only wore it on special occasions, until a little bit of perfume was left. Since Avon ceased to produce Seazone by then, I put it away in a drawer hoping Avon would bring Seazone back. It keeps there until now, with the little bit of perfume.

Say what you want about Avon but in their time they knocked a few out of the park and Seazone is one of their home runs. It apparently wasn't considered a hit when it was out (being an Avon, perhaps it just wasn't widely noticed) but it should be considered one now. While Seazone isn't precisely "blue" in modern terms - not many blues are - that is its strength. Seazone is aquatic enough to pass muster among aquatics yet with a complementary snappiness that sets it well apart from anything else currently available. Generic or typical it is not: the dreaded curse and plague of the entire blue fragrance category of "shower gel" doesn't fall on this one. Let's be honest...many blues are so much alike that they blur together, rendering each other redundant. Not the case with Seazone. If you want something ususual but good, excellent in warm weather and available for peanuts, Seazone is it. Very, very highly recommended.

It really was an aromatic male perfume of those who referred to men with shaved chest hair, growing up again, adventurous and with little clothing practicing R.P.M.! I can't remember for sure the notes, however the color of the bottle has everything to do with the feeling of a "freedom blue" smell that it referred to right at the exit. The feeling he gave me was also of being at the peak of a mountain range, receiving seeing and sun, shirtless, unshaven beard and smile on his face. Soon, it referred to a stream of running water, heated by the heat of the forest on summer days, with the smell of moist earth and a ventilated touch that caused madness between a warm and fresh feeling almost at the same time. Fuck, it's too delicious some AVON classics that are gone and remnants of a possible return: "Or penser mon amour!". I was part of my humble collection for the rescue of some of them. What a lack is no longer to feel the ecstatic zone that vibrated in SeaZone!

I wore this in the 90's when my mother would order Avon. This has a tremendously sweet aquatic scent supposedly due to a tobacco note and probably some synthetic fragrance ingredients. I've gotten back into this one after finding some affordable ebay listings and I quite enjoy it for a change of pace in my fragrance rotation. This one could be released as a designer fragrance today and probably have some success. It would be great if Avon could re-release this one without any loss through reformulation. Great job and kudos to Avon for making some decent fragrances through the years.
