Azzaro Pour Homme Hot Pepper

Can I just say that this was one of 2020’s best surprises so far for me. I got to smell Azzaro ginger, wild mint, and this one, and this one has the more unique smell out of all of them. There’s a little more going on in here besides what’s in the pyramid, at least that’s the illusion it gives off. To me this is a Fougère and a really nice smelling one. For anyone thinking your actually going to smell like hot peppers, worry not, that’s not what you’re getting. To me this becomes slightly powdery for the 2 hours it lasts, and then poof it’s gone like a fart in the wind. Great scent but wait until it goes for cheap at discounters.

This one reminds me of Thierry Mugler's Taste of Fragrance (Pure Chili), but it has much more sweetness and a little less richness to my nose. The sweetness really tames the hot pepper note, giving this an interesting hot/sweet pepper mix. It is pretty linear on my skin. I get good projection and great longevity on my skin. Leans more to the masculine side and is more of a casual scent. If you like pepper scents or just different scents, you should try this one.

I mean - this is awesome. Spicy sweetness - deep spicy sweetness. It’s azzaro, so don’t expect the sun and the moon when it comes to quality or natural appeal. the opening really plays with the bitter pink pepper - and I actually find it pretty unique! It then transitions into a deep, spicy sweet (think spicebomb family). I love this shit. Better than amber fever. favorite purchase over the last few years. At $50 - it’s a no brainer.

This is another Azzaro fragrance that I've totally fallen in love with. I was expecting something very different, the name suggests a warm and peppery juice, it's not, it's more a creamy, woody vanilla. Lasted well on my skin, but projection was fairly moderate. As always, very nicely presented. Amazing value, the name however is perhaps misleading, I didn't get any pepper.

This is definitely in the favourites of my collection, love the exotic cashmeran aroma soft warm and spicy with a nice muskyness to it but some what fresh too, really well done with the chilli pepper high lights. It's exotic in a seductive out of this world like vibe, kind of like something out of a dream. Pretty damn good for Eau de toilette moderate sillage and longevity.

I bought this entire line as blind buys. Cheap enough and I thought they were mostly very interesting compositions (just by looking at the notes). I may or may not review all but this was my first on skin try. Bottle is your standard fare for the Pour Homme line. Make no mistake, though, these have nothing to do with the original Pour Homme line and it's flankers. These are their own deals. I'll say, these all (with the exception of Amber Fever) blast you with alcohol upon initial spray. Just to be honest. I was a bit worried I wasted my money but fret not, it gets much better. This note breakdown seems a bit basic for what I personally pick up on here. It starts with a definite chili pepper smell, almost to the point where it's hot to the nostrils (the name is not only implied). It's also supported by a fruity sweetness which I assume is due to the pink pepper. As it dries down, I lose the chili pepper (and sweetness) but it becomes a smooth, ambery and black peppery type of scent. Quite spicy. It starts wholly unique and becomes a bit basic but that's not really a knock. It's a very cozy and alluring aroma. I definitely enjoy the drydown more than the opening. This comes off very mature. I would say 25+ are going to find this more enjoyable and someone who likes something unique. Very masculine. I think fall through winter is going to be your target season and situational use would be tough here. It's not luxurious enough for formal use and it could be a bit polarizing, especially in the opening. I would say casual and you'd be gambling on date night. Not sure. The projection is great for about the first 2 hours and then becomes a skin scent. I applied it at 6PM and at 11PM, it's sort of detectable if I sniff the spots I sprayed. It's even dissipated from my clothing. For the price you're paying at discounters, I would say it's a decent buy and I sort of like it. I feel like I'm going to have to wear this one a lot more to really say with a certainty but I could see it growing on me.

Interesting. Not sure yet how I'd rate it, but I'm leaning in the direction of a solid "like." Here are my first impressions... The initial hit from Hot Pepper is more actual hot pepper than anything, but with a touch of sweetness to it. It's unlike anything I've ever tried, but in a good way. The spiciness reminds me a bit of a dialed up Mexican cocoa, minus the chocolate - a clean, piquant chile (Aji or Anaheim?) combined with a hint of something cinnamon-like -- it can fire up the nostrils and become a bit sneeze-inducing at first, but it's also weirdly enjoyable at the same time. As it dries down, that heat blends into balance with the fruity pink pepper, bringing fleeting blooms of an almost custardy sweetness. Over time, that spicy sweetness dials back, allowing a lightly coniferous and clean cashmeran to take center stage, with that sweet heat ever looming in the background. What drew me to Hot Pepper was a love for the spicy freshness of GPHII and the spicy/smoky/woodiness of Azzaro Visit. While this is very different from both, it also shares some elements of both - so I'm very pleased with this purchase. Jury's out on longevity and projection, but my first impression is that it's practically nuclear for the first 10-15 minutes if you spray on too much, so go easy. Based on my testing and past experience with this brand, I'd expect something of very average longevity. I think Hot Pepper is a great option for anyone who enjoys spicy-sweet types of scents, and its reasonable price pushes it into no-brainer territory.

Starts spicy & it gets sweeter for the first few minutes as if there was vanilla in it. Then the sweetness dials down a bit & the light woody-powdery of smooth cashmeran note reveals itself, adding depth to the warm spicy scent. The final product a soft, smooth, powdery, mildly-sweet spicy scent. A good release from Azzaro. People should really try this more, especially the lovers of gourmand &/or spicy fragrances. Smells a lot like Mugler's The Taste Of Fragrance. Big "Like"!

I know a few scents much more peppery than this so the name is not a good indicator of what this is. However, it is a very smooth operator and a really pleasant wear. Mildly spicy and just sweet enough to be warm and inviting but not smoldering or cloying. It seems that it has to have more notes than the 3 notes listed. Maybe some fruit or wood. It has poor projection though. I will use up the sample but that’s sufficient for me.

The name is not indicative of the scent but still an awesome fragrance nonetheless. I would say the name should be changed to "sweet pepper" or "soft pepper." The "pepper" note only lasts about 30sec to a minute and after that you are left with a very soft spicy cashmere smell that does not evolve much beyond that. I would classify this as a definite fall and early winter fragrance. I give it overall a 7/10.

Youthful, mildly sweet and spicy. Very worth the price.

I completely agree with C_Fraydrances: "Hot Pepper is a little misleading, because to my nose there is no "hot" pepper. It has vanilla/tonka feel with lavender, and a light touch of pink pepper." I was hoping for something that leaned towards the peppery opening of Gucci Guilty EDP Pour Homme or Eau Capital by Diptyque, but the first sniff off the atomizer was that laundry soap / mass/designer fruitiness from some Montblanc offerings. The color is straight Joop Homme, which should have tipped me off: this is a mostly-linear (I would say there is a musky tonka dry down once the fruitiness has faded) inoffensive, synthetic-smelling day scent. The smallest decant I could get was 5 mL, and my guess is that I'll likely pass it off to someone else who wants to try it, rather than use up the small bottle, but only because I've got other things I'd rather wear.

Sweeter & Creamier than Spice Bomb in the opening. I also get a balsamic like note from the Cashmeran, which is fairly prominent to my nose, that's not in SB. Also SB smells more peppercorn heavy to me. As it dries down SB starts to smell a little sweeter to me. I like the opening of Azzaro way more, but the dry down of SB is way superior IMO. This was $32, vs $70 for a 5oz tester of SB. They don't smell the same. When the spices die down in the Azzaro, it becomes more of a Balsamic fragrance, to my nose, than a Spicy one, so the name is kind of deceiving. SB outperforms the Azzaro by double. 4-5 hours vs 8-9 hours. If you like a spicy green forest vibe, go with Azzaro, if you really like the holiday spices vibe, I'd go with SB. Projection and sillage is better with SB also. Presentation-wise SB wins. Azzaro presentation is very basic. Is it a bad fragrance for the price? Not at all, but with this being discontinued, there was not way to test it. It just wasn't what i expected.

Another bummer- linear and quite boring.Longevity is poor and sillage is poor. Again these are poorly blended and ok for office but no compliments with this as its somewhat odd.This line reminds me of the mercedes benz infinate spice/black leather/ ect ones. weak and linear and blah even though made by some top perfumers. The cheapness is apparent here and these are $20 fragrances tops.

I am waiting impatiently for this new arrival. Wondering wether would be compared to other chilli based fragrances like Givenchy Rouge or Hot Water. Would it compete with them or would it be better than them?

This to me is a reincarnation of one million.the fact that my bottle of one million have been finished fir years now, this definitely take it's place..

Smells like a sweeter version of Spicebomb, without the performance.

cashmeran - that's a type of musk isnt it?
