Baldessarini Nautic Spirit

A hidden gem if you want a different summer fragance (no citrus opening) with a non linear/flat smell. The opening is very aquatic and tropical, I got over all passionfruit/maracuya in that phase. Then start a nice sparkly ginger that reactivate the frangance with a creamy cardamom, kind of spicy stage. It still keeps the tropical feel and cardamom all the time but became more elegant and clean with the final musk/sandalwood till it fade. So a tropical-aquatic-woody/spicy-clean fragance, like being in a yatch achored by the pier of a tropical island.

I put 30 fragrances in my fridge in June. This one grew into my favorite. It's been cool this summer, so maybe it's luscious nature matched the weather. Not sure if I'd love this during a blisteringly hot summer.

Truly a fantastic fragrance! Fresh and fruity. Like a summer breeze on a tropical beach. One of my absolute favorites during spring and summer. I love the bottle design as well.

Got this today, sprayed it on my hand, now 2 hours later it smells very good, it does not smell cheap or generic to me, it has a warm fresh feel to it.

Baldessarini Nautic Spirit opens with a moderate projection of sweet fruity and oceanic accords. The passion fruit and mango are the two sweet fruity notes that are noticeable, the passion fruit is one step ahead and it is slightly more prominent than the mango. The seawater comes across as fresh oceanic breeze with a pinch of salt. The mid notes, curry leaf, cardamon, and ginger are the spicy accords, being the ginger the most noticeable of the three. The three base notes, musk, patchouli, and sandalwood are very shy, and, except for the sandalwood, they are overpowered by the fruity and spicy accords. The sandalwood adds a soft woody accord. The fragrance is relatively linear, the opening notes continue into the dry-down. Once Baldessarini Nautic Spirit has reached its full dry-down, it can be summarized as a sweet fruity (passion fruit, mango) and oceanic (breezy and slightly salty) fragrance with spicy and soft woody accords. The fragrance feels casual, comforting, delectable, fruity, gentle, gourmand, inviting, mild, modern, natural, sweet, unisex, warm, slightly woody, and very pleasant. Actually smells quite nice, more for someone over say, 25? Definately a slightly more mature, masculine aquatic/Fougere, casual but can be dressed up as well. Performance is on the low/moderate end. Starts off a bit "Generic" but becomes more interesting as it dries down bc of that nice, noticable-sandlewood base. TBH, Im not sure if I like it a lot, or if I think it's more "generic", and I've almost used the whole 2.5 oz bottle already!🤔. I've NEVER recieved a compliment for Nautic Spirit, but that may just be bc of the intimate sillage. Im actually wearing it again now after almost 6 months, and as I put my nose up to my arm where I sprayed, its smelling pretty darn nice! Its actually quite woody, musky and really pleasant. Anyway, I definatly don't feel its made a very big impression on me and so I wont be re-purchasing it, but again, it's NOT bad. A 6.5 outta 10 fragrance mainly bc of the poor performance. I suppose in the end, its pretty "Meh".

Baldessarini Nautic Spirit is a good summer scent that can stand up to extreme heat. I wore it today and the heat index got up to 108 degrees and Nautic Spirit performed well and smelled great. Yesterday, our temperature was almost the same at triple digits in heat index. While most fragrances don't hold up well in heat and humidity, Gianni Versace Man Eau Fraiche did exceptionally well just like Nautic Spirit did for me today. Bottom line is if you want a cologne that can withstand extremely hot and humid conditions, I can recommend 2 for you right now in Baldessarini Nautic Spirit and Gianni Versace Man Eau Fraiche.

On paper, this is very bright and sour fruits with a musky patchouli base and I can understand the previous reviews from others. On skin, this is all fresh pine with a familiar patchoulli base typical of Baldessarini scents (Night Vision, Black). I don't get the nautical reference. This could have been forest themed and green. This is a better performing Rochas L'homme Aromatic and Lalique L'Insoumis. Really good but quite confused!

I like it, it's understated enough to not be causing anyone any annoyance however I have got some compliments from people in close proximity (office, car etc). Sits well on my skin and is nice with one spray on your shirt/jacket Due to the fact that it is slightly unusual (it is fresh, warm, fruity, and spicy all at the same time) I would recommend trying before a blind purchase. Spring/Summer scent through and through

Of course this one is a perfume for the daytime and not really for going out at night. My opinion is, that it doesn't last really long but the smell is quite good. Unfortunately the duration of this one is really bad so I do not recommend this one. Its a good perfume if you think of the smell, but in the end it doesn't last long enough so its just a waste of money if you buy this one.

Blind Bought a bottle of this from Amazon for peanuts and was pleasantly surprised. A nice refreshing and slightly different summer time fragrance. Decent performance but you can also afford to overload with the sprays for the price. The perfect scent for everyday use when the weather heats up !

Definately a very pleasant, casual, very masculine Aquatic Fougere. Great for guys 25 years+. Moderate longevity/sillage. Ive never recieved a compliment, but I still really enjoyed wearing my now nearly empty bottle. Nothing mind-blowing, but nice for the $20 I payed for it at Ross.

Just got this and is quite nice; fruity, fresh, aquatic, woody, spicy. Not long lastic but very pleasant. Great vacation scent as well as office safe. Its cheap give it a try

Its definitely masculine. Id say for anyone over 30. Smells great. I grabbed it for $16 however even if purchasing for its going price it's still a good deal

A fresh, fruity, cheerful fragrance. A slight undercurrent of spices adds a bit of depth. Nothing amazing, but very pleasant and nicely presented.

Smells very synthetic but once dried on skin smells a little better

Fresh, masculine and friendly scent. Reminds me somewhat of the mango/fruity aspects of Polo Black, but in a slightly different direction. Prominent note (for me anyway) is clearly the mango, tweaked just a bit by a slightly sour passionfruit and that generic, synthetic "seawater" accord, all in good balance. Lurking somewhere behind all this, I do get an accent of spiciness -- I'd guess that's the cardomom and curry leaf, which does restrain Nautic Spirit from getting overtly adolescent in its fruity aquatic stylings. Projection is personal -- little more than a pleasant and polite skin scent. Longevity -- this is another one of those summer freshies you simply have to bathe yourself in to get any kind of longevity (or projection, for that matter). Overall, I really like the scent, but find the performance rather lacking. Inexpensive, though I'd still wish for a bit more punch for the price. Call it a "like" for me, but not a love.

I can't really put my finger on why, but this reminds me a lot of L'insoumis by Lalique, almost as if it's a fresh flanker of it. Doesn't make sense, though, because the notes are totally different. Maybe the curry tree smells like one of the notes in that? Who knows. Anyway, this a pretty decent scent. I was hoping I would like it more, though. The bottle is beautiful and the price is really good, which would've possibly put it in my "hidden gem" list, but unfortunately it's more in the "like but not love" category. The passion fruit can get a little cloying after a while. It's also a bit sweet, which is to be expected, but I probably would've liked it to be pulled back just a little bit. The sandalwood and curry notes are really interesting and nice, though. Performance isn't great. Becomes a skinscent after about 2 hours and is basically gone after about 4.

I have to update my previous take on this one. After having it for some time, it seems like this juice has changed somewhat. While I still get that whole mango+spice+sea thing in the beginning, there is a very distinct metamorphosis to Nautic Spirit as time passes. What I end up with now is a light, old-timey patchouli core, that teases at something like Guerlain Heritage, toeing that line between masculine and feminine. Still not too sure I love this, but I do respect it. It's no linear one note wonder.

I don’t like the opening as it smells very typical shower gel scent for men. No fruit no mango as listed can be detected. Dry down is nice however. It’s rather cool and aquatic. Overall is still very sporty shower gel like smell. I am not mad at it, and I didn’t pay much for it.

Spicy, fruity and marine at the same time! A bit salty ocean vibe, but that curry note did not work for me, it feels a bit misplaced with the other notes. It does give the fragrance a unique twist for sure but it’s a no from me. The bottle however is so elegant and classy.

Fresh & crisp, love the smell, sadly lasts less than 20 minutes. Just to make sure I hadn’t gone nose blind I even questioned people around me, they fail to smell any trace of it as well. Sad, this could have been a keeper for me. I just can’t see holding on to something that doesn’t perform, so off the shelf in must go.

Figured I’d add my 2 cents (shout out to Brian) as it relates to Nautic Spirit considering there aren’t too many reviews of it on here, nor YouTube for that matter. Warm but fresh, lively green spice with a tinge of fruity sweetness. Expect a fresh opening, followed by a musky drydown. The musk conveys more so than the freshness, at least on my skin. Those are the first thoughts that come to mind as it relates to the scent profile itself and the main accords that (to my nose) I pick up on. The opening is surprisingly captivating; even more so once you take into consideration this one can be picked up for literally $20 + shipping. From a more critical standpoint, however, the opening itself is rather fleeting.. The freshness remains for a good portion (but don’t think incredibly airy or breezy ~ that is not the case) There is a muskiness to the fragrance that almost even smells like an ode to something one would expect from an older gentleman’s classic cologne, but it never strays too far in that direction. It’s not as juvenile of a fragrance as I had initially anticipated for whatever reason. I do pretty much mirror the sentiments of others regarding this one’s performance If performance is super high on your list in regards to what you value in your fragrance, you might consider pursuing a different “cheapie gem” However If you’re looking for a feel good great dumb reach fragrance to wear out the shower and/or for the gym this one is a good fit as it’s pretty much a skin scent by the 2hr mark. I hear this is the case with several of this houses offerings though - that they make great smelling fleeting fragrances. Anyways, that’s my thoughts and opinions at the moment regarding Nautic Spirit if you’re still reading at this point you are a real one.. This fragrance is a nice fruity and marine combination, it's like a fruit punch prepared on a beach in a warm summer day. The mango is represented as a freshly cut, not well ripped fruit, it's not very sweet, it's more on the sharp side. In Brazil, where passion fruit comes from, it is called maracujá (with J) - The fruit is vastly popular, eaten after cutting in half, scoping the dark-orangey core, which has several black crunchy seeds, the taste is very sweet and sharply tangy, because of its seeds and acidity, a lot of people like to juice it in a blender with water, ice and sugar, maracujá has calming properties and the flowers that bloom before the fruit come out, are the MOST beautiful flowers in the planet. (Google it and see). Like most tropical fruit, like maracujá, and jenipapo and graviola. These fruits have a more complex flavor, not like strawberries or apples. Maracujá, (passiflora/ passion fruit), may have a "burnt" after taste, which in jenipapo is even stronger. Baldessarini Nautic spirit, has the saltiness of a marine fragrance and the sharp "sweetness" of unripe tropical fruits, this fragrance is not syrupy by any means, I can also smell the "burnt" lingering aftertaste of maracujá. It's a very intriguing summer fragrance, but the smoky/burnt emanation is a little distracting. It has the complexity and the German efficiency in execution. It also evoques tropical scenery, but lacks the tropical warmth, then substituting that by adding some smokiness.

I'm captivated by this, both as it relates to my very first vacation fragrance, Del Mar, which takes me back to the good old days of family vacations 20'ish years ago, in the Mediterranean and Canarian Islands, with the always accompanying evening and night time adventures in sublime company and with remembrance and atmosphere. This alone, takes me onboard a tropical yacht adventure. I'm possesed by this vibe and DNA, if only it was launched in an EdP / had better performance / longevity !! My goodness gracious, would I secure some backup bottles of this! Recently I'm sold on the affordable Faconnable Royal EdP layered "50/50 next to" with Lattafa Hayaati EdP, which also takes me south to the Riviera and with the fruity/floral Hayaati. Possibly going noseblind, cauz other people say they smell it from afar. It is a lovely innocent conbination with the dark/smoky twist from Royal and the floral elements reminding me of one of the 3 first frags I ever owned, Fleur du Mâle, where most of the juice is still retained.

Baldessarini makes manly good smelling EDTs and this is no exception.There is something serious about this fragrance,but it s not sobriety or placidity,it s more like an experienced sailor who is hard to impress . Not the usual aqua or blue aquatic fragrance.The name is very appropriate,Nautic Spirit somehow manages to make you see yourself on the wooden deck of a boat, clean and aseptic due to the scorching sun, salt water and harsh wind. Quality bottle with a gorgeous design.IMO also suitable for early spring and autumn,worn casually but not necessarily sporty .Mature and manly but lifeless after 30 minutes.I don't know if he's successful in separating men from boys but it certainly separates fragrances that last a few hours from those that last a few minutes.Too bad considering that the bluey juice is good.

That's a very thoughtful masculine fruity fragrance. I can't name it aquatic, it does combine three dimensions: fruity (mango), marine and spicy (cardamom). I would describe it as green mango fragrance, done in the direction of Ralph Lauren Polo Double Black, but juicier . I like that mango note is noticable though not excessive, the scent doesn't roll down to a sweet fruity genre remaining beautifully sophisticated with a tropical twist. In the dry down this tropical note in a green spicy background begins to remind Aventus a bit, just a bit. Highly recommend this new Baldessarini creature.

Smells like a modern, fresher version of Drakkar noir. Not as fruity or light as expected, but it’s a warm/spicy start with a fresh musk finish that has lasted 2 showers on my skin. But the projection? Hardly anything. It works like a molecule based Fragrance where it radiates when it wants to. Also this is has a anywhere anytime any occasion smell. High usability just needs to have more sillage

I Got it from my boss as a present as she knows that i am a parfume freak and i find the juice in it decent...personally not one of my favourite of my collection but its not that i dislike this.. Probably one of the best bottle designs that i own.. Fresh,clean and modern somehow without to be "too young"..performance issues let it stay on the category "one of 1000 fresh fragrances".

It seems as if this fragrance could have been so much more than it is but perhaps there was too much emphasis on making it more mature or sophisticated vs. nautic and adventurous. It is warmer and spicier than you would expect but the performance is quite good and the presentation excellent and classy.

I really liked this one, more than the rest of Baldessarini's probably, and probably the best performer but still not enough for me to buy. There's a reason I don't own a single Baldessarini perfume and is not because of the scents but because of the performance.

The fragrance in my opinion is just memorable. Perfect for a brazilian vacations or something like that. Projection and sillage they simply don't exist! How can a brand launch a product like that?! It's a shame because the fragrance is really great...

Warm, sweet fruity and little spicy. Too sweet for me... Remind me Paco Rabane - INVICTUS but Nautic is more thinner and soft than LOUD Invictus. Awesome bottle! I'ts so classy! Real wood , metal and glass. Perfect design. Scent - 5/10 Bottle - 10/10!

Geeez... what a mixture of notes. Then lets see. Am sure its gonna be subtle in longevity like all the other Baldessarini scents, although they are good. Its pretty much there only weakness.
