Del Mar Seychelles Limited Edition

For the longest time it was my favorite masculine smell. But when I quit smoking that fell flatter. Maybe that's because of a bad association and pipe tobacco note in it. Anyways the aroma is very unique, pleasant freshy with a smoky scent of leather sandals on the beach. So sexy

My absolute Nr 1 Summer fragrance. Everything about it is perfect. The melon and the tobacco ar the stars, providing this blend with an truly special DNA. Back up bottles secured. LOVE!

Fresh peppery watermelon tobacco. Definitely not aquatic. Someone said it was leathery and that is spot on.

Woody, spicy watermelon. Baldessarini Del Mar Seychelles (DMS) is all about the watermelon first. Fruity with slight sweetness. However, Baldessarini, being the older-age oriented house, have beautifully made the fragrance woodier and spicier with suede, tobacco, and black pepper. The resultant smell is a fruity, woody, and mildly spicy scent. It's warm and very pleasing. One might call it a bit generic as there is abundance of fragrances that share a very similar woody watermelon accord. Now, because they opted for woody watermelon, the watermelon doesn't smell very juicy and sweet. Still nice but do not come expecting salivating watermelon fruitiness. A lovely smell, indeed. DMS is more of a spring, daytime wear suitable for all ages. This would be a very good starter choice for a young person trying to get into woodier fragrances. DMS gets a big "like".

Blind bought this bottle, based on the notes shown here, as well as the fact I like Baldessarini and Hugo Boss fragrances. I had actually gotten this as well as the original Del Mar as a sample. Not sure about the original Del Mar - on me it seems too floral-soapy for my taste. But Del Mar Seychelles is beautiful. To me it opens similar to Hugo, but it's not quite as sharp and melon replaces Hugo's apple. It quickly passes through a bit of black pepper and woodiness, settling on a nice soapy suede. Just a little sad I don't get any of the tobacco.

Comparison: To my nose this one is very similar to Versace Eau Fraiche, but less sharp and intense. At least in the first 30-40 minutes before it dries down to a sweeter vibe and the watermelon accord seems to fade. Like or Dislike: I like this one maybe a bit more than Eau Fraiche (I don't really like Eau Fraiche because of it's feminine side.).But that's just me. I bought this cologne as a blind purchase as I normally do cuz of the notes and the positive post... It smells just as described above a fruity watermelon leading into a smokey and black pepper dry down and thats it, nothing more to say... a very simple clean refreshing after your shower spicy scent.

Nice, bit light on me to be honest, didn't really last more then 2 hours. Shame, as I like the fragrance. I get very little of the fruity opening on my skin, it develops into something very woody pretty quickly, which is fine as I like it. Agreed for 35+ Packaging is the same as Avon, bit nasty.

This fragrance projects a aura of relaxation. Juicy melon, nutmeg and tobacco create a positive, manly scent that performs very well. Its not aquatic yet it totally delivers the holiday resort vibe and even more. Way better than your usual flankers or beach resort themed fragrances!

Nice chunky bottle and the colour of the juice is lovely . To me it smells almost identical to versace's discontinued 'Metal jeans' . The scent doesnt last long on me either but its not a bad scent I just prefer the original baldessarini .

This is a nice and unique fragance. I like it! Its longevity is average if you spray yourself 2x-3x, but if you spray yourself about 5x it smells on you for almost a day or more. I response it!

Strange how a perfume with a tabacco accord can smell so fresh. The opening is nice and fruity. After a while the tobacco pops up but not in a bad way.

I think this fragance is for 35+ mens. It's very pleasant in the beginning, but by the time going smelly.

I know that I seem to be alone on this, but Del Mar Seychelles is my favourite of the Baldessarini Del Mar line. It’s big on tobacco and spice and seems to fit right in to the whole concept of what this line is trying to represent; a more mature man sailing and exploring the world’s oceans. It has a sweet and sour accord in the beginning that’s not too overpowering. I’m guessing that this is the watermelon maybe mixed with the angelica? It’s something a little different from the rest of the Del Mar Line. Another plus is the longevity and sillage. Compared to the others, this one really last a considerable length of time on me. I get up to 7 hours with this. When I wear this, I think of sunsets, smoky BBQ’s, rum cocktails and salty ocean breezes. For what it’s worth my personal order of preference for the Del Mar line goes: 1. Del Mar Seychelles – 5/5 2. Del Mar Marbella – 4/5 3. Del Mar Caribbean – 3.5/5 4. Del Mar Baldessarini – 3/5 Of the four, this & maybe Marbella are probably the only ones I will re-purchase.

Don’t let the watermelon note fool you into thinking that this is another sweet Kenneth Cole Reaction. This is an ultra masculine soapy/woody pepper bomb, and there’s nothing here aquatic to my nose. Maybe for some faint ozone playing with your senses here and there, but nothing truly oceanic. The fruit note is far from being centerstage, and I think with this offering being as green and spicy as it is, the juice color is fitting. Don’t let my review spook you. This offering is modern and highly wearable with average Summer performance. If Lalique White and Lanvin L’Homme had a baby, Del Mar Seychelles by Baldessarini would probably be it. I enjoy this!!

Bought this blindly for under £10 for a 50ml Edt in a supermarket. Good sturdy bottle and the juice colour is very different. For the first 15mins it is very peppery on my skin with wafts of watermelon. The tobacco is quite prominent and blends into a strong woody scent. The herbs and woods mix very well with a fruity twist. I got to say i'm quite suprised by this fragrance and will be great for work and the gym. It is quite strong on my skin and lingers for 5+ hours. I used to wear the original Del Mar a few years ago and am so glad I bought this. This will be great in the warmer weather too.

i can agree with both of you guy (drummerboy and vertigo)... unfortunatlly it isn't good for me ;/ top notes are very close to metal jeans by versace which i don't like. after that it's much better. like vertigo said: strong accords of spices appear in middle and base notes. i also agree that it's rather for young boys than for mature men. marbella edition is much better

This is second one I have tried from this house and I still haven't found the one I like. This one starts out fruity green and not a all sweet. Then it becomes all about some spices and tobacco-like accord and it's not a spicy scent either. It's not what I expect. It's not a beachy scent at all. I don't get any relations to anything off the shore.

Not revolutionary, but a really nice masculine fragrance. I am impressed with its longevity. Sillage is good, but not extraordinary. Fruit+pepper+sage are quite prominent here. It seems an interesting aromatic office fragrance or a summer/spring refreshing option. The truth is, this fragrance is for younger crowd, not very mature, IMHO.

Big Fan of Baldessarini. Love the Original, Love Ambre. Del Mar is an OK spicy scent. Del Mar Seychelles is fresh, Fresh, FRESH. Summer Fresh. In my opinion you CAN NOT Over Spray. When the bottles are empty will I replace Baldessarini....Absolutely Ambre....Absolutely Del Mar....NO Seychelles....Probably

The typical 90's style! A watery/fruity opening laying on a strong woody base. Unfortunately it was released in 2009. Not completely unsuccessful (yet very close) but definitely unnecessary. Rating: 4/10 Edit: After 4 hours of wearing it gets annoying and outdated. Meh

interesting! fruity sweet with strong accord of spices. most modern from Baldessarini. and rather for younger men, unlike others from this brand. I like the bottle nd the colour of juice.very summery!:)

Very simple and plain. Modern fresh-woody-fruity composition for office or casual daily wear. Longevity is less than average. If you like something sophisticated and chic this is not the thing.

Underrated gem...perfect for summer. Masculine classy.. I see James Bond in the caribbean wearing this.
