Getaria

One of the best fresh spicy scents I've smelled in a while and my fav from the line. Test sprayed and wore this yesterday on its launch day, got a compliment on it after a few hours, 2-3 sprays on the hand lasted on my skin a good 7 hours. Not worth the over $300+ price but I Will be buying this when it hits discounters. Solid 8.5/10

Aesop's Karst but a bit more salty and actually lasting!!

The only thing I’ve smelled that similar to this is Suqraat by Lataffa which is a clone of ADG Profumo. That being said, I have never smelt ADG Profumo but based on all the other scents I’ve smelled from this line I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s a clone of it. This is a very nice simple aquatic perfume that would shine in the summer but is outrageously over priced.

I have been testing all collection on my skin from their discovery set and I’ll start noting two things: 1) I have tried 8 out of the 10 fragrances so far and this is one of two that I strongly dislike - the other being To Be Confirmed - while I do enjoy the other 6; 2) the collection has a base soft, musky, nearly skin scent DNA across all 10 fragrances, but to me it seems like this is not as present in Getaria or else it just gets overshadowed by the strong mineral note I get from this. It opens very citrusy but surely marine/minerals as well so a salty touch to the citrus. This blends with a soft spicy tone but I cannot detect the pink pepper at all. To me, the salty mineral note takes centre stage very quickly pushing the citrus note to the background. It reminds me a lot of Oud Mineral by Tom Ford which is a perfume I cannot stand. May be sensitive to mineral notes and Getaria does not do it for me.

This is a lighter, maybe simpler version of Mendittorosa Architepo. Like that one, Getaria uses subtle pine and green incense in its central aquatic accord to evoke a volcanic island dotted with scrubby evergreens and rocky shoreline. It’s fresh and very synthetic. To me it conjures the color of dark blue-green algae. Getaria sets itself apart from famous salty aquatics like Heeley Sel Marin with a strong backbone of white musk, giving the scent a more substantial body and presence. Not to mention a cleaner, freshly showered effect. I bought the small travel vial and expect to go through it quickly over the summer. 4 out of 5.

Another quick review - Getaria is extremely wearable, calming and friendly. Astoundingly (cheekily?) close in spirit and experience to Heeley's Sel Marin. There's a faint hint of the pink, powdery sandalwood that dominates/renders unpleasant CDG's Concrete, but here it is quite welcome. Excited to see how Getaria evolves over the hours; at any rate I will be devastated when I finish this sample, but if the drydown delights then I might be facing a full-bottle situation.

Smells like celery salt in a bowl of water. Or maybe like cel-ray soda. Freaky
