Dolly

At my local mall, there is a Lush right next to a video game store. The Lush itself is assaulting inside, but next door in the video game/ figurine store, it's easy to appreciate how it smells. Lush with a hint of a new Xbox controller, or searching through fresh out of the box video game t-shirts. Feeling up one of those mystery figurine bags in hopes you get the one you want well the smell of classic Lush is everywhere. That is exactly what this perfume smells like. Not standing in the Lush store and being assaulted with all the smells, but it has gently filled the store next door so you can really appreciate how nice it smells. The dry down is the best part, every time my wrist comes anywhere near my face I can't resist but smell again. It reminds me of my young classy, hippy aunt. Floral but not like your grandma or overwhelming, soapy in a natural way, you can smell the incense close to the skin which I love. The closer you get, the more you smell. Lovely spring/summer smell. I'm really looking forward to layering with the Glossier You. I originally got this in the Discovery Set from Barre and I have no regrets, I completely recommend trying everything Barre has, Bree has created some very interesting and wonderful scents. Plus, when you order the Discovery Set you get a very nice discount on the larger bottles, and I think Dolly might be the one I use it on!

god i love this. it’s like smearing your moms lipstick on a doll with strawberry scented plastic hair, so it’s not actually strawberry, but it’s something of the sort. nostalgic of someone else’s grandmother giving you a really wet kiss on the cheek, and she smells like really old, vintage, dusty floral perfume that she has had for ages and never seems to run out of. face powder spilled on old leather. so so so beautiful.

My youngest 'Frenchton' pup is named Dalston but quickly Dolly became his namesake. I had to have this perfume for simply that reason, but what a treat it was to find it to be my favorite lipstick fragrance in my collection. I reach for this more than FM's Lipstick Rose and that really says something. Bree is just a master in her craft, simply put.

One of my go to fragrances, just bought it for the second time. It smells like makeup and almonds, or maybe cherries without the sharp fruity tang. It’s a dry sweet powdery smell. I could imagine Marie Antoinette’s wigs smelling like this. If you like shabby chic you’ll probably like this.

The smell of 1980’s suede jackets with powdery florals. The smell inside your mom’s purse. Feminine and subtle. I find the longevity of Barre fragrances to be pretty good, and the silage to be minimal which is what I want, to smell good close up only .

this perfume is my absolute favorite, i'm getting the smell of Barbie dolls and old makeup inside of a leather purse that's been under the sun for too long. mysterious, nostalgic, beautiful.

Smells like playing with Barbies, but as a grown-up. Like comforting plastic. Reminds me a bit of a strawberry shortcake doll smell but hold the strawberry. Fun and flirty scent

The traditional "grandma" essence applies to this powdery fragrance but in a new and unusual way. Powderiness is usually correlated with an elderly or maybe even dead feeling- this fragrance feels alive. Its 3D. Dare I even say its wet? The lipstick note is a perfect match to the ever-so-slightly off-putting scent of the soft gold L'Oreal lipstick my grandma wore. The rose is bright, its fresh, its more rose-watery to me which always feels refreshing. The incense at the end feels minimal and not a major component, its there to ground and age the suede which is does perfectly. I unfortunately am not cool enough to wear this fragrance but it reads *very* cool girl to me. Maybe one day I have a really fun hand-made outfit of pastels and knits and suede and creme leather boots I will wear this. •This feels distinctly nostalgic to me as I had a grandmother who wouldn't leave the house without a swipe of lipstick, used rosewater from the bodega as her toner and also smoked lol.

I like it! I'm undecided if it's full bottle worthy for me, I need to test it more. The rose and iris mixed with the suede, that really comes out in the mid, reminds me of Himitsu Violets by Regime des Fleurs. Dry down is more incensy and earthy than that fragrance, though. I would say it reminds me of an old Victorian doll that's been sitting in a wooden cabinet of an antique store. If that vibe appeals to you, definitely give this a shot.

smells how a cloth doll with flowers sown in would right after a wash in the bathtub. a clean, soapy, innocent, and slightly sweet scent. it stayed overnight after wearing it to bed and the sillage was still pervasive after 2 hours of wearing

This is a very pretty scent. It was very rosy to start with but finishes with more baby powder tones. It does smell a bit old fashioned and sort of like toiletries from the early 90's - I'm reminded of my mother washing her face with noxema - but it's very pretty and I think would suit some people very well. It's not for me but I think if I smelled it on someone else I would think they smelled nice. It doesn't seem to project particularly much and it faded down quite quickly. I'm going to give this to a friend of mine who I am sure will like it.

extremely powdery + synthetic when first applied. very grandma, but yes dolly too. i feel like a little baked bisque doll sitting on a lace doily in an attic. once it dries down after a couple hours, i definitely get more of the suede and incense. if the sillage and longevity weren’t so poor i would actually like this, but unfortunately no one will be to smell it on me so it’s kinda not worth it.

Not too bad. Generic. The smell of this perfume really reminds me of Rose Jam by Lush. Extremely sweet. For the girly pops.

Soapy, clean, pink bathroom from the 80' (but in a good way)

Inferior to Pink Bedroom Oil's Doll Head smell 1000% and the wood/leather is not sexy or interesting to me.

To me it smells like an unidentifiable women's perfume with suede in the background. A bit earthy. Not for me.
