Gingham Glow

Marigold and Cane Sugar on vacation with alittle bit of Sunkissed and a little bit of Golden Sunflower, much lighter than both, yet ambery solar and sweet. It's a balsamic sweeter version of the happy youthful Marigold and Cane Sugar imo, which I always loved, so it features sweeter deeper solar elements, utilizing the happy uplifting scent of the marigold. It's like the Sunkissed mist of the marigold flower, and it also has the honey sweet vibe and the dusty yellow floral element of Golden Sunflower, just not as pungent syrupy as Golden Sunflower and not as dusty floral as that (Anyone recalls how dusty Fresh cut lilacs smells? well it's not like that). More wearable than Golden Sunflower too. Its opening is sweet while the drydown isn't as syrupy sweet, but more floral, kinda like the orange blossom of Sunkissed or Tropidelic's ylang ylang. I smell a little Tropidelic in it too, both being light yet solar and floral. So Gingham Glow (I'm always about to type "Gingham Gold" cuz it smells like liquid gold to me lol) is in the same solar sweet balsamic family of Sunkissed, Golden sunflower (orange flower), Getaway Soiree and MK wonderlust sublime (orange blossom, amber). I am not surprised people listed some of these in the "reminds me of" list. I love the deep honey-like sweet solar essence of Gingham Glow, similar to that of Sunkissed, without the salty vanilla overload of that one (sundrenched orange blossom there). It is not as heavy and as balsamic as Getaway Soiree (sunkissed mandarin - solar musk), but when I see "solar" and "sunkissed" in the wording of the notes, as with the "sun-soaked sandalwood" here, I know they have put some orange blossom in it and amber too, no matter if they don't always list them in the notes, as in Michael Kors Wonderlust sublime (orange blossom and amber, plus tiare flower there). So same sweet solar "sun tan" lotion vibe here too. Orange blossom/flower and amber or vanilla are usually the secret. When I smell my skin up close I detect orange blossom in Gingham Glow. It's more wearable than Getaway Soiree which is similar to Tom Ford's Soleil Blank (ylang ylang orange blossom, amber, tonka etc). I list Tropidelic in the same league like I said, with its ylang ylang which acts like orange blossom and it's rather floral like Gingham Glow is, but Tropidelic smells more fresh without syrupy sweetness. From both I sense a jasmine/gardenia intoxicating scent from the passion flower ylang ylang there, and the marigold sun-soaked sandalwood here. It's such an unexpected twist for me in Gingham Glow; this blend of the sweet marigold and the solar ambery notes gives me the impression of gardenia/jasmine on my skin even from the opening, I really love that aspect of it. At times it even gives me a beachy vibe like Mariah Carey's Dreams, but Gingham Glow isn't salty or caramel-sweet, it's much lighter. It smells so beautiful, feminine and ethereal in the summer breeze, but sweet enough like the hot sun rays of July. It's my new favorite out of the whole solar family. The marigold starts developing right away along with the honey-sweet notes and intensifies with a realistic yellow flowery element from it similar to Marigold and Cane sugar, slightly dusty flowery like flowers in the sun, very realistic. This flowery part reminds me of Golden Sunflower which is similar to Marc Jacobs Honey, but Gingham Glow is more ethereal than both, without any vanilla. The solar element (some orange blossom and amber perhaps) is balanced so I don't get the usual camphor weird scent that I get from some BBW perfumes with solar notes and flower blossoms (I get that stinky smell from Tropidelic a bit, the Sunkissed shower gel and the At the beach lotion). I gifted Getaway Soiree to my mom, but she called me just to ask me what the heck did I give her lol it smells like church incense to her, too heavy she said, but she likes Gingham Glow and she adores Tropidelic. Tropidelic is the least sweet of the bunch, very similar to Korres Sikinos btw, and Sikinos came out first so not sure if BBW got some inspo from it. The mist smells better on me than the perfume, but I love the traces of the perfume on my skin after 3 hrs. Both are not long lasting. Getaway Soiree is so intense it lasts all day on me.

Very pretty, Happy, floral, warm, sunny, delicately sweet, uplifting, bright, cozy, woody, cheerful, feminine, whimsical, joyful, and charming. It’s such a delightful fragrance! It has this really lovely golden feel to it, like that golden hour in the evening. You feel the warmth of the Sun on your shoulders as you gaze out over a field of marigolds, sunflowers, and wildflowers. Such a bright, whimsical, and joyful feeling that just makes you smile. There’s almost a nostalgic feeling to this one that I thoroughly enjoy. Gingham Glow is a such lovely, warm, and sunny golden floral scent with a delicately sweet honeyed nectar dripping through it, and the slightly sweet and creamy, aromatic woody warmth of sandalwood. I feel like there’s also got to be some syrupy orange blossom in here adding to the sweetness as well as some vanilla and amber because it has such a warm and golden feel to it. There’s also just a touch of something sun tan lotion like. This is such a perfect fragrance for summer, fall, and especially that transitional period between the two. I think the packaging is very fitting and that it’s very aptly named Gingham Glow because it really does give this overall beautiful feel of a golden warmth. I do find this to be somewhat similar to B&BW Copper Fields and oddly enough, even a bit like Tom Ford Soleil Blanc. I get good performance with Gingham Glow, especially when I’m using the shower gel, lotion, and mist together. The longevity is really nice, it lasts throughout the whole day on me. The projection is decent too, it radiates out about an arm’s length from me. Out of this year’s B&BW Fall and Halloween fragrances I bought the Gingham Glow gift set (mist, lotion, shower gel, hand cream), and the mist, lotion, and shower gel of Vanilla Romance (sooo incredible!), Dark Kiss, Wicked Vanilla Woods, and just the lotion Candy Apple Cauldron. Overall, I was even more impressed with my order (a blind buy) than I’d expected to be! I’m enjoying everything, but Vanilla Romance and Wicked Vanilla Woods are definitely my favorites (I’m a major vanilla fan!)! I also ended up placing a 2nd order for Blueberry Bundt Cake, Autumn Drive, Champagne Apple & Honey, Together Weather, and more Cozy Vanilla Bourbon... all of which are amazing!

Omg omg omg!!!!!! I was thinking where did I smell this scent before and someone here mentioned Mugler Alien Goddess! Yes, it has very similar scent or more like a dupe for Mugler. Surprisingly the scent sticks really well on my wrist compared side by side to Bbw Luminous which is both tested at the same time, on the wrist, both Edp. I had to grab it after about an hour of testing it from the store. This fragrance also had similar scent or vibes as the new Jean Paul Gaultier Scandal Absolu, which i tried on a tester paper, right after leaving bbw store to have some thoughts. Right now, this scent can be bought at a fraction of the price of either JPG or Mugler. I just grab a bottle that is on sale and it's so worth it. If anyone like Alien Goddess from Mugler, most likely they will like this too!

"Summer Afternoon, Summer Afternoon..the two prettiest words in the English language." This gorgeous Sandalwood dream in a bottle is going to run out before Summer ends. I didn't get the body spray because BBW sprays last all of 5 minutes so I went straight to the perfume. I get Sandalwood, Amber, Hibiscus and light Citrus zest. Summer White Sunset by Avon is the closest perfume to this one but without the "sweet fruit". I love it.

This smells like a luxury hotel. Smells fresh, floral, creamy, and a hint of sweetness. I wasn't expecting to like it being that I'm a gourmand fanatic but it layers well with a lot of fragrances to add a touch of creamy floral.
