Twilight Woods

Disclaimer: I have the older mist bottle with purple and brown hues, as well as the EDT pictured above and the EDP with the huge gaudy cap. The notes for the old formula of FFM are different than those for the recent formula but similar to those listed for the EDT. Review: What not to love? Twilight Woods strikes a beautiful balance between a subtly sweet vanilla, dewy juicy fruitiness, a smooth creamy coconut, and warm sensual woods as well as a softly clean musk. It’s both cozy and elegant, ideal for autumn or evening wear. Thankfully I don’t get any oud. The performance is moderate for the old formula I have. Just LOVE ❤️ Oh and the perfumers are Harry Fremont, Honorine Blanc and Jane Konnyu!

I'm from the UK and we don't have a B&BW store. However I really loved Twilight Mist by Body Fantasies which is getting harder to find. Usually the shipping fee from America is too expensive, but I saw a bottle available at a reasonable price on eBay. Smells almost exactly the same as Twilight Mist, but less fruity and more woody hence the name 😂 however it doesn't last as long unfortunately. There is a slight resemblance to Crystal Noir, TW is much sweeter of course. When I wear Crystal Noir, I like to layer it with TW.

As far as I can tell Twilight Woods is the same as it always has been. I'm glad, because this is a bit of a cult classic! I still only own the old bottle, but I've sniffed the newer stuff. Mimosa is the star here, and it's a warm floral...almost pollen-y. I enjoy it in here and in Butterfly Flower (I'll forever miss that one), but I dislike it in Japanese Cherry Blossom. With the notes here, the mimosa isn't stuffy or overbearing, it's simply beautiful and supported perfectly. I actually have changed my perspective on this, and I can see how there used to be coconut listed in the notes. I think I used to try and smell a more tropical coconut, but in here it's presented like Crystal Noir's; it's coconut in *tone* and *texture*, an addition of sweetness and warmth (a very fuzzy facets of the fragrance), but not necessarily the fruit itself. It smells like it has a touch of sandalwood too, and sandalwood + coconut is such a classic, perfect match that they end up smelling seamlessly soft and powdery together. I hope that makes sense.. At any rate, parts of this bear a striking resemblance to Crystal Noir EDT. Honestly the packaging of the older bottles couldn't be more perfect. This newer stuff looks corny, but at least it's still the same fragrance. Longevity is ok, but it's easy for me to become anosmic to this. There's almost a melancholy tone to this, and I've always thought it smells like November in a bottle. It's sweet, femininely woody, warm, but somehow a little pensive. I know that sounds odd, but that's how I feel about it. It's moody. 🍂
