Marte 61

Another happy discovery. BATTISTONI is a prestigious classic tailoring house based in Rome, however their fragrances are not expensive and the smaller 30ml edt bottles can usually be found for 10-15 euros (in Italy). The classic "Marte" (Italian for Mars, the ancient god of war and masculinity) is their signature perfume from the 80's, "MARTE 61" was created in the late '90s in order to offer a more contemporary fragrance aimed at younger men (61 is the civic number of their boutique in Via Condotti, Rome). "Marte 61" is great value for money since it really is a good fragrance. It is fresh but subtle and elegant, it is also sweet but in a delicate white floral, and not vanilla-gourmand, kind of way. It reminds me of a sort of "CK One" meets "CK Be" in spirit, though "Marte 61" opens less fresh-fizzy and maybe smells a bit subtler overall, while still retaining all its freshness and dynamic side in the white musk drydown. Very versatile, it can suit young men and a casual dressing style as much as more formal settings. Its fresh side makes it perfect for spring/summer/early autumn days, but its understated elegance makes it equally suitable for evening wear in every season if what you're looking for is not a bold seductive fragrance but a fresher delicately floral one. Projection is rather moderate, longevity is good but in the sense of a close to the skin scent. An excellent blind buy.

This smell......i never knew what i was going for,i am a really huge fan of the Battistoni's fragance line but this is not for me.There is maybe some fresh strangely sweet note that i despise and makes my stomach to revolt!It is an unisex frag for sure,not only for men!And for a young audience i must say.

Great blind for me! In my country unknown this brand, at least the perfumes ... I was delighted to see the "fashion house" in one of the webshops. Plus, it was a great price! I hit it immediately! My surprise was great! Very special floral opening! I did not expect such a sweet chord that is so dominant ..... Probably Magnolia, Freesia and Pearl Flower dominate the scent. Very unique cocktail! It's already unisex, but because it's Italian ... hmmm this man! You may not have a day's wear and good at the office, but occasional smells are brilliant,very nice! It's a shrill force and a projection, but you know what the big ones are !! Recommended!

I have a couple 30ml tester bottles newly purchased and made in Italy by Italart. 61 is charming, relaxed, understated and seamlessly blended so I can't identify individual notes. It's a skin lotion smell you'd really enjoy on someone you love.

Smells like a part of a garden with Monarda & Melissa - minty sweet with complex lemon and spice undertones. Even though I'm a woman, I wear this fragrance in the summer and consider it a Unisex scent.
