Dark Temptation

I only have a sample size of this, but when I sprayed it today I decided to pick something randomly from all my Be Layered samples, not sure of what the "dupe" was supposed to be. I could immediately sus out that this was Oud Bouquet...but then since I have a bottle and a back-up of the original gold bottle from Lancome, I know the scent well enough to be able to discern the differences immediately. Dark Temptation is less oud-y and actually more like balsam. It's still a little smoky like oud, but it's just a touch softer. The best way I can describe this is almost shampoo-like. And then it hit me: this smells like Wella Balsam shampoo from the 70's/80's. I LOVE that smell, and have been on the hunt for it for a long time in a perfume. It's a smoky but also "clean" scent at the same time. A really close fragrance is actually Clinique's Beyond Rose (I've described it as an all-year-round Oud Bouquet, without the oud). I think Dark Temptation could be an all-year signature perfume, whereas I only pull out Oud Bouquet in the colder months. This is really beautiful, and I highly suggest you at least try a sample if you cannot get your hands on Oud Bouquet.

I purchased this fragrance about a 3 weeks ago. I will say that it took about two weeks to arrive but in this chilly weather it was worth the wait. I am absolutely obsessed with this fragrance. I now understand why Oud Bouquet was such a popular smell. It's a beautiful scent bound to get many compliments when I wear it out. I will say that the fragrance is long last. You can smell it on my clothes for a few hours. I heard Oud Bouquet last days though and this one doesn't have that kind of staying power but for the price point it's a great dupe. If you're not used to Oud, I will suggest getting a smaller bottle or a travel size. Wear this on a chilly night. I will defiantly purchase from Be Layered again as I received two samples, Ancient Amber and Dolled up from this brand. Ancient Amber really warms up your perfumes and makes them really cozy. Dolled up is a dupe for YSL Supreme Bouquet and it will be my next purchase.

I am impressed by the fragrances Be Layered puts out. This lasts on my skin all afternoon and into the night. On my clothes, it lasts until they are washed. It’s beautiful, dark, exotic, sweet, and as much into the gourmand category as I can tolerate. Imagine eating a lovely middle eastern pastry at a street side table and smelling a blend of all the ladies’ evening perfumes as they are wafting on the evening air. I will be ordering a FB in the near future.

AMAZING! New to oud fragrance and this one is hands down my favorite next to shagaf oud by Swiss Arabian. This one is so seductive and inviting. Warm and I actually spray it on before bed for that soothing warm scent. I love this one. It is almost identical to Lancôme’s oud bouquet... which I tested in store. I would definitely buy this one if your a oud lover. It’s not offensive and definitely will get you compliments.

Am I the only one getting TF Noir de Noir and Armag Club de Nuit from this? Nice!

I have a 5ml sample of this. On the first spray, I thought no way, not for me. Very smokey, strong smell at first. I put it away and occasionally smelled from the little tube over maybe 2 months. Today I have sprayed this again. The first 30 minutes weren't great but not as awful as on the first attempt. Then, after about 45 minutes it became sweet, dark, inviting, intoxicating, I have been sniffing my wrist all day. I want a full bottle now.

blind bought this . I love oud and I’m middle eastern girlie so oud is important to me . But this is Too sweet and dusty . Like sooo dusty I smelled oud bouquet and yes this is a very good dupe but unfortunately i barely wear it because I can’t stand the sweetness but If you love oud bouquet you will enjoy this . The longevity is amazing & stays on the clothes until I wash them. and the silage also is great . Sadly This is not for me

I've never smelled Lancome's Oud Bouquet, so this will be a standalone review of Be Layered's Dark Temptation. I picked up a sample of this because I had heard so much about Oud Bouquet for so long that I just needed to know how it smelled. When I first spray on Dark Temptation, I smell and taste Turkish delight. It's that rose scented powdered sugar, that I can feel going through my windpipe as I inhale and take a bite. It's a little chewy, plenty sweet, and full of the scent and taste of slightly lemony rose water. As it dries down, I totally get the roasting marshmallows around a campfire comparison, it is very smoky and woody. But the marshmallow texture makes this fragrance not as dark as I thought it would be. It doesn't smell seductive to me - smells sweet and happy, like fun memories. I like it, but I don't love it - not sure if my expectations were raised too high for this perfume. I prefer my dark roses to be actually dark and daring. Also realizing that although I enjoy eating Turkish delight, I don't need to smell like them. But it is a beautiful fragrance, well done indeed. This lasts well on the skin, but actually doesn't project too much. I can't over-spray Dark Temptation because the sweet powdered sugar cloud at the opening is overwhelming for me, but even when I did by mistake, no one noticed my perfume - to me, that's a good thing. Too many oud perfumes are unwearable for me because I don't like to smoke people out with my fragrance.

I havent smelt the OG so not sure how close it is. To me there is something in here that I really dislike, its a weird type of sweet scent I am not sure if its the oud that is giving it that strange vibe, i've never smelt oud before so I cant say. To me this smells sickly sweet, but mixed with this woody note, but its not a normal woody note it's almost smokey I am guessing thats what oud smells like, I just really don't like the oud mixed with the sweetness. But yeah to me this just smells like a strange sickly sweet perfume, its mostly the sweet that you get, my bf said it smells like a candy store. Very disappointed that I couldn't smell any rose, I think maybe that would balance the sweetness out a bit. I will continue to give this a few chances because people see to love it. I am really hoping shagaf oud and oud bouqet don't smell sickly sweet like this.

I completely agree with LittleYsatis. All of the Be Layered perfumes I got in my sampler set smelled like chemicals. For some of the other scents that smell dissipates, but not for Dark Temptation. I think it smells bad on paper too, not just on my skin.

I was so excited and unpatient waiting for the sampler package. Maybe it's just me. I don't think Be Layered fragrances have natural ingredients. Chemical smell. They don't work on my skin.
