Esprit d'Amour

This is very nice. Imagine a sexier Terre d'Hermes with less harshness from the orange bitterness. At first sniff, I immediately thought of Terre and was going to call it a clone. But that's only because they seem to use the same orange note. But when the lavender kicks in, it calms the fragrance down, puts it in auto-drive as it takes you for a nice Sunday drive through lavender fields on a warm sunny day. The destination? A cozy cabin filled with familiar, close to the skin smells of musk and sandalwood. If Terre is the favorite coffee that you love to start your day. Espirit is your favorite tea to unwind you into a peaceful nap. Edit: It took a couple of hours but the dry-down reminds me of Prada Amber Pour Homme. In conclusion, if you ever wanted the two stellar classics, TdH and Prada Amber, combined into one fragrance with zen nuances from the lavender, then this is the fragrance for you.

It is nice that all of the offerings from Blocki are now here for review. I have sampled everything except their new one Press Club. My husband owns and wears Kosciuszko often. I should wear it as well it is a great aromatic green w/ a fresh outdoors feel. That being said here are my thoughts on Esprit d'Amour. This perfume reminds me of a fresher version of Chanel's Jersey. Esprit has a huge lemon and citrus top notes that are very strong but as they settle down the lavender and lily of the valley really shine throughout the heart as the perfume dries down the tonka bean comes around and is very dusty. Giving the impressions of Guerlain Mon Guerlain w/out the licorice. If you like the idea of a fresh lavender and lily of the valley w/ a dusty tonka bean base this is a good choice. I enjoyed it very much when I wore it but I think I like Chanel's Jersey better. I am thinking of getting another sample kit of this line to decide on another purchase from this house. I am torn between In Every Season (I had a bottle but broke it, it went all over my bathroom floor, and I couldn't save it. I was heartsick about it) and Sanrovia. This is just something I would only wear on occasion, so a full bottle isn't necessary. Again, it reminds me of Mon Guerlain and Jersey but a lot fresher w/ the citrus and lily of the valley. Very unisex as well. Blocki is a house every perfume lover should check out. Vintage style w/ 21st century execution. Longevity and silage w/ all of their perfumes are massive. They are well worth the money.

Upon first sampling this fragrance, I was immediately reminded of the first few weeks of December. This is the smell of the day you bring your tree home - fir sap on your hands, the newly felled tree filling your home with the scent of an evergreen forest. Your wood stove is burning in the other room, clove and star anise in its steamer. As it turns out, none of the notes I swore I was getting are actually in this frag lol. I’m going to guess that the lavender and citrus notes are the culprit. Here they’re fresh, green, and concentrated. It’s cold now where I live - I look forward to trying this again in the summer to see how it changes!

I love how light and simple this musk is. The lavender, citrus, and tonka combination are right up my alley and the addition of white florals gives it a light and powdery air to it. Looking forward to trying this sample in the summer as I think it will perform well in the heat. I don't know that I would make great use of a full bottle, but a 10ml might be just enough! Skin Test: 8.5/10

This is wild, it smells Christmasy to me. Like in a lightly spiced citrus and crisp fir trees kind of way. I keep going back to it just to figure it out

This scent brings to mind a version of Mugler's AMEN without the huge dose of patchouli. A lovely lavender is made more luminous and metallic with dihydromyrcenol and more crystalline with a judicious dose of some candied ethyl maltol or something similar. Some floral aromachems give it some air and it lands on a pile of white musks. It is pleasant enough, but I do miss the earthy, woody counterpoint of AMEN's patchouli when it comes down to it.

I absolutely hated this, on my skin this has an incredibly sharp, lemon scented bathroom cleaner smell and it was an instant turn off.

The more Blocki fragrances I sample, the more I I am finding that you must ignore the first 2-3 minutes of the fragrance. Something about the natural ingredients they use just causes the fragrance to take a beat to settle. But once it does? Oh man, it’s worth it. I wasn’t sure this was going to be for me at first sniff - the citrus and lavender up against each other felt harsh and grating. But after a few minutes, something clicked and it’s gorgeous. A soft, airy floral dream with a playful orange top note and a warm, creamy musky base. This may need to be added to my collection next to In Every Season.

Instant love. Instant obsession. I love the LOTV in this. It smells vintage but modern. Will definitely look at picking up a bottle. I also loved Saharet, a woody aromatic, but this one was stronger and lasted better on my skin.

On me this is a super-powdery floral musk which, unfortunately, makes me sneezy and gives me a sinus headache.
