The notes are blended so well here... they come together to form an amazing white floral bomb! I wore this on a warm day in Houston and this thing is nuclear! I felt this thing pushing out so hard while I was walking around Wal-Mart. I had to stop and breath in the lovely fumes because it felt like I was hiding out in the flower bushes somewhere, the white floral notes are so crisp & ripe... U can smell the vines with green leaves growing on them... I even got hints of the soil- This is a really gud floral joint that's meant for warmer temps... I wouldn't wear this in the winter.

I went to Nordstrom and sniffed their one stock sample. They didn't have any to give out and so I had to visit my lovely ladies at Tysons 2, who were very generous. I love this scent. It's like a softer Bond #9 Signature(which I also love; however leans too masculine for me). It has been on my arm for 12 hours now so very long lasting. I get oud , some sweet, with soft flowers on my arm, but I a have very different chemistry than most. So far I am loving it!

Modern,pungent,with a note of musk fantastic... I feel like the other non-listed notes vetiver and oakmoss... is a beautiful young unisex fragrance and perfectly! Great for nights out, although it can also fit the day .. I prefer to use it in cold autumn days, but could go well in the days of spring or summer, but you have to use with caution because it is very strong sillage. Nice find! ♥ Sillage: 10./10 Longevity: 9./10 Scent: 9./10 Overall: 9./10

There is a girl in my office that wears this and I love love love it on her. If anyone has a dupe oil for this, please pm me. Update: so I bought a sample of the real thing. omg - it's gorgeous, but I kept thinking, wow - this smells just like something else I have ... what is it? It was Haiku by Avon. No kidding. So if you love B9, you might just love Haiku.

An ineffably gorgeous synergy of floral with the kind of musk a wild beast would mark its territory with: exquisitely on the very cusp of eliciting the ¡¡ that reminds of a farmyard !! reaction ... or maybe just a tad beyond that cusp, now-&-then. An outstanding instance of my favourite kind of perfume.

Everything is blended so well here... this is strictly for white floral lovers though- The white florals here smell so crisp & ripe- You can almost smell the vines, leaves & soil too! This smells superb & its meant for warmer temperatures

It's a gorgeous heady musky floral with a spicy twist. I hate bond and its owners but this fragrance is really nice.

Smelled and tested it today in London's most famous department store where it just has been launched. It is a very heady, musky floral along the lines of Central Park West, but the Gardenia is accompanied by saffron and sandalwood that gives it more of a pungent, spicy depth; almost to the point of plummy. Perhaps the deep aubergine translucent glass bottle colour conjures that up? I think it is the darker, more sinister sister to "Central Park West", albeit more autumnal and arguably more mysterious. Something however makes my throat itch, perhaps a high dosage of amberigis or civet, or perhaps some synthetic component that I find it very overwhelming, if not suffocating. I think, I'll stick to my beloved Central Park West, that is now safely stached away until May/ June of next year. However, given that maroon, aubergine, burgundy, oxblood or whatever you wanna call it, is THE must-have fashion colour of the season (Kate Winslet, aka Duchess of Cambridge, looked stunning in that maroon lace dress the other week) this fragrance would be the perfect accompaniment to this autumn's colours, if you can handle a strong fragrance! Only for the daring and confident ones! THIS ONE IS LOUD but in a sombre kind of way....Imagine you pass by the Ministry of Sound on a Saturday night and you hear that phat bass from the outside: it's dull, soft yet still loud. Excellent lasting power and reaches its full blasting potential 1-2 hrs after application, then it goes on and on and on for hours until it dries down into a floral sandalwood musk. 10/10 for hitting the fashion nerve of the moment. It's a "Warm Musky Winter Gardenia" with a dark and shady undertone. This one could be worn by MISS BOND and I am talking 007 here!

Extremely versatile and youthful scent just as Calvin Klein CK One Calvin Klein CK be for example but bold and sharper. Absolutely unisex and safe musky/floral (gardenia is the boss along with musk) fragrance with some spice in it. I can hardly imagine someone to hate this stuff. I could wear it everywhere anytime. The only negative about it is the moderate longevity.. Sillage and projection are fine.

On my skin, B9 is not similar Narciso. Beside Narciso , B9 is not such heavily musky one. Top notes are citrus and jasmin, spicy flower( saffron?) , then amber and oud appear, and then vetiver comes to the end. Matter of price value, I would not pay $150 for B9. Actually, I bought B9 for $72.

Good musk parfume but not exciting smell. Bond No. 9 produces too many scents and not all of them up to expectations. Negligible.

I'm another where this one turned rancid.. the oud or the oakmoss? It's a shame, because the opening was a real 'ooh, this is promising!'. I gave it a good few sniffs, positive vibes.. the gardenia, saffron and musk combo was different and very nice! Went off, got busy with life, forgot for an hour, and it had become a 'Yuck! What happened there...?!?' If it doesn't turn on you, this is good scent - worth a test!

I agree with Vixmix below. At first sniff, B9 is a musky floral with a slightly warm, spicy base that seems so wearable and pleasant that I WANT to love it. But about 15 min later something changes, B9 turns sour, almost rancid on me. Something here clearly disagrees with my chemistry or nose or both.

I have several samples of this and i want to love it however, it’s terrible on me. It smells sour and as if it’s burning my nostrils. I hate to write a negative review and i rarely dislike a fragrance but this was a scrubber for me.

Nothing extraordinary. Smells like a white floral with the BondNo 9 DNA and a hint of oud and musk. Beastly longevity and sillage.

The worst Bond #9 I've sampled so far. A piercing and awful scent.

B9 is a complex and disarming floral-woody fragrance that cultivates a deep friendship between feminine floral notes (gardenia, jasmine, orchid) and masculine woody/mossy notes (sandalwood, oud, and vetiver are very noticeable). It's an unusual take on the fleshy gardenia motif, rendering it a swagger and a sensational genderless beauty. Here are traditional notes presented in an innovative and exquisitely nuanced way that had me fielding all manner of inquiries as to its name. What makes B9 so attention-grabbing is the juxtaposition and eventual symbiosis of the heady gardenia with the masculine woods and grasses. B9 starts with a plume of saffron and oud that swirls into the heady gardenia, a beginning of enough amplitude that one spray, dabbed lightly around the wrists and neck, is enough. That one dab drew favorable remarks throughout the day--B9 has accomplished the nearly impossible here, by not smelling like everything else, which alone is a selling point and even more so when one realizes that the equilibrium of this latest Bond fragrance is near perfect. Sandalwood plays a major part in the B9 structure. I am a huge fan of Bond No. 9 New York Sandalwood and am delighted to see this note so showcased here; it is the note most often remarked upon in this scent by the people who in growing numbers are inquiring about it. B9 is the exact opposite of the boneless modern fragrance: This is one bold beauty of dramatic panache. B9 straddles floral and woody notes so expertly that one whiff might bring the unctuous gardenia/jasmine and the next might bring a flash of oud against tangy vetiver, always with the gardenia swaying just beneath the surface. Smelled now it is all sexy white floral, but ten minutes later the dynamic process has been interrupted so that it is a confident and bold woods scent. It is this dichotomy that people are noticing--they can't put their finger on what it is they most like about B9, since it shapeshifts constantly, with each new dimension revealing more complexity. I first encountered B9 as a scent strip in the Saks holiday catalogue; I opened the strip and left the catalogue in my kitchen, only to wonder for a week later what smelled so damn good. I then purchased a bottle, only to be besieged by people who want a drop of it for themselves, or to unlock its gorgeous contradictions for themselves A note: The "curvilinear design element, rendered in touchable raised gold" (this is the B9 logo, attached to both the box and the bottle) had fallen off in transit. This I don't care about, but then again I am really only interested in the juice and not in "design elements." I don't assume that I had a defective bottle; something fell off during shipping. I don't display my perfumes, so this doesn't matter to me, but is something Bond might need to address. Otherwise, I adore B9 and its gorgeous duplicity of nature. I also adore that the one drop I use lasts for days, getting smoother, subtler, and even more alluring as time goes on. I can't decide if B9 is a sandalwood floral or a floral sandalwood and I don't think that it matters. B9 is bold and exciting and seemingly commissioned for those who would like a stunning new white floral or those who seek a bold new woods scent. I'm all for it--this and New York Sandalwood have become major players in my fragrance library. I adore genderless scents and B9 is one of the best gender-neutral scents I have recently tried, since it unabashedly incorporates curvaceous white florals and bracing mosses and woods and doesn't cheat on either. B9 is strong. It's strong and it dazzles people. Containing both operatic and stoic notes, B9 must be experienced, or it must be experienced by those with whom one comes into contact. I fielded so many questions about it that I had my phone permanently on the Bond No. 9 website so I could show and tell with ease and speed. Yes, that many people asked. I'm delighted that so many were wowed. A fab new addition to my modern fragrance library.

So the notes on Fragrantica are incomplete. According to the official Bond No 9 website, here are the notes: "Feminine, old-world gardenia, transported into gender-free 21st century mode, and given an elegant, polished spin. Notes: Citrus, saffron, gardenia leaves, jasmin, orchid, agarwood, amber, sandalwood, oakmoss, musk, vetiver" Bond No 9 is remarkably similar to Narciso Rodriguez's Narciso (The short white cube.) The notes they have in common are gardenia, musk, and vetiver. Narciso also has rose and two kinds of cedar. To me these two are so similar, especially in the dry-down phase (to my nose it's about 70% gardenia + 25% musk + 5% other stuff for both) that if one of these came out as a flanker for the other one, I'd be mad. Narciso opens sweeter and more floral (despite only rose being listed, I feel like there must be some jasmine and other white flowers in there,) and in the dry-down, remains sweeter. If we rate sweetness from 0-5 with 5 being something like Pink Sugar and 0 being something like just plain alcohol or water, I'd put the sweetness of B9 at a 2 and the sweetness of Narciso at about a 2.75 and therein lies the huge difference. The sweetness of Narciso makes it a more deliberately feminine frag whereas B9 remains firmly unisex. Deeper into the dry-down phase (4-5 hours in) B9 has a more oudy glow and Narciso is similarly woody. I'm not a huge fan of Bond No 9 in general (except for Riverside Drive of which I'm a huge fan,) I find their frags overpriced for what they are. On the website the asking price for 100ml of B9 is $380 and 90ml of Narciso is $115 so I would say make sure you smell Narciso before you spend money on this. I got my B( for a very good price from someone who didn't want it anymore, so it isn't a problem for me, but for the $265 difference you could buy a whole other perfume or more than one, so it's worth it just to double check before you spend your money on this. More I can say about the scent itself, it's not the purest most truest gardenia frag I've ever smelled but it's one of the nicer ones. The musk is very prominent. It reminds me of the gardenia in La Panthere, like it's been isolated and gussied up with musk. Narciso, again, similar but sweeter. Oddly enough, I wouldn't name-drop La Panthere if I was only talking about Narciso, because the sweetness takes it in a direction further away from La Panthere, if that makes any sense at all. Also, if you lift the bottle up to the light, it becomes a very lovely purple color, try it in a dark room with your phone light.

I’m a male professional in my 50’s living in Manila and I just recently got a sniffit of B9 in a local department store. I didn’t pay attention much to the sample but tonight after showering I saw this and tried a few sprays before going to bed. I didn’t like it on the first spray, it smelled very feminine. Like jasmine or ylang-ylang. Reminded me of the flower garlands we offer to our Catholic icons when I was a child. But then after a few minutes, the scent grew on me. It still smelled white floral but has some sweetness and a bit of creaminess to it now. I’ve looked up on Fragrantica to see the fragrance notes and it says gardenia, saffron, amber and musk. I definitely smell the gardenia but couldn’t detect the saffron (maybe because I dion’t know how saffron would smell like in a perfume). The sweetness is probably coming from the amber, the dry down is now getting powdery which is probably the musk but I wish there’s a bit of a more masculine scent here like incense or leather to make the smell less dainty and a tad more, hmm...dirty? Although it has grown on me, and I wanted to impulsively buy a bottle online on Fragrance X (a 100ml bottle is only $132) I thought for a while where could I appropriately wear this. Not in the office or else risk myself smelling like our secretary; not casually or people think that their grandma just passed by the mall; and definitely not in a club because I would smell like an a matron desperate to hook up with a lonely widower. In the end I decided against buying it, tuck myself to bed, hoping that I will not have a nightmare of myself as a matron going on a night out with our secretary and my granny.

Got my hands on a bottle of this and I do not regret it. It's a pickmeup, undoubtedly so. It's especially unisex, and it's quite balanced between femininity and masculinity: the fresh woods, with the saffron spice (it's so right in this); with the creamy gardenia, won me over, over the other Bonds I have been anticipating purchasing. It's a no brainer if you like to smell the fragrance that has latched to your clothes after being machine-washed. It's got very good longevity and silage. If not above average, at least a stand out because of its strength over majority of the other Bonds. I'm wearing it today on an oddly cool summer day in Michigan and I am enjoying it. Can't wait to see how it plays with different seasons, especially fall.

This is a very nice fragrance, but it was leaning to feminine for me to be comfortable with it. It's not to feminine though... It is very creamy and woody, very balsamic. There seems to be a very nice freshness to it, like some bergamot, though none listed. It reminded me of Tom Ford fragrances, Black Orchid, or something like the discontinued Private Blend, "Velvet Gardenia". Rating: 8/10 God bless. Not a review, but I must agree with Pinnacos. I don't see much of a valid standing for compliments on a fragrance's scorecard, especially in today's environment where a "compliment," given or taken the wrong way, could leave you fighting to keep your job. Beyond that, giving a "compliment" about a fragrance can also be a passive-aggressive way to complain about it. I have only one Bond, I Love NY for All, and my impression is not too different from the overall vibe I pick up about Bond generally - for the price, it's impressively crafted, but it won't blow your doors off. If you can get it at a great price, do so, but I'm looking below at $260 for a bottle of this and am scratching my head.

WOW. I had a beautiful woman come into the store I currently work in, and I found myself following her, and had to ask what she was wearing. She told me it was this, and now I MUST purchase a bottle. The scent was intoxicating and beautiful mysterious, sexy, with a hint of spice. I'm already a huge fan of many Bond No. 9 fragrances, but had never smelled this one before. I have a feeling this may become my new signature scent.

This was my first Bond fragrance and I still have yet to fully commit to embracing such strong notes wrapped up in one. I'm used to (and gravitate to) sweet, feminine scents and this is the complete opposite. I'm keeping an open mind and will also have my bf try it out. Longevity of this fragrance is amazing! The bottle id beautiful.

People enjoy this when they get close to you. Someone took pride in them getting skin-to-skin with me because it smells so good. Everyone I hugged started a conversation about how good it smelled and gathered around. I knew this was a winner

This scent smells familiar but can't figure it out! gardenia and smoky vetiver, very interesting scent. Androgynous and somewhat comforting. I don't get anything rancid from this scent. I won't buy it, but I enjoy the sample.

Scent - musky gardenia, saffron & amber. Season/Time of Day - I prefer to use this one in the warmer months, day or night. Projection - I didn't get noticed, I didn't get a compliment. Longevity - I get 6hrs consistently.

Agreed. Every fragrance deserves a chance. You don't have to like it or even love it but at least wait for this to hit the shelves and sample before cutting it down. Not cool at all.

Smells luxurious and not a typical way of using gardenia (which is a great floral).
