Marrakesh

Really great scent. Opens with a camphor like edge although I’m not sure where it’s coming from. This is working along with the black pepper. The base, which is there at the opening but in the background, is creamy and dark with an oud touch. This base becomes stronger and creamier as the scent moves along. The oud, which never goes barnyard, continues with a darkness. My only issue is that this sits very close to the skin and does not project at all after about 45 minutes.

Bortnikoff has had a hand in a number of my greatest ever fragrances. This is not close to being one of them. It does leave a strong impression, but I am not sure I would want to wear this one at a posh evening event. It comes far to close to being harsh. I appreciate that Bortnikoff is being experimental here. The price is relatively low compared to most of his other scents. This is part of a triad of scents that were recently launched. There is another triad he released after this one that again falls into the more traditional Bortnikoff bloodline. To me, it is a good sign when a star in the fragrance community steps away from tradition to give us something challenging if not quite as enjoyable as I would want it to be. I think this leans masculine; silage is good and longevity is too. A sample would be enough to see what this one is up to. I can see many people not liking this one much at all. I do not see affinities with Tabac Doré which I found to be one of best tabac fragrances on the market.

Light pleasant floral gourmand scent. The fragrance opens with notes of orange blossom, pepper and slight nutmeg. The heart is plum accord, jasmine and elemi resin. The perfume settles on a powdery bed of synthetic musk, benzoin, slight oud and vanilla. The unisex scent has moderate sillage and longevity. If slightly stronger it would remind you of the souk area of Marrakesh. Enjoy!

Not a fan of Vanilla at all, but this is a mix with oud and black pepper that gives the overall scent a more rugged profile. Spicy and woody. If you can picture vanilla dessert, but instead of sugar, you pour pepper and spices over it. That's how this acts. Very interesting and quite unique.

The dry, chocolatey tobacco from Tabac Doré but with sweet, jammy dried fruits, prunes, molasses and a pinch of sweet liquorice. Some turkish delight here aswell, along with black tea. Didn't really get the heavy tobacco until I sprayed on skin. Lovely!

Bit shocking. I was expecting to smell some oud, but its a powdery, spicy, fruity thing. Quite rich and deep, but reminds me of an xmas scented candle too much. Bortnikoff please do more bombastic, daring, fermented ouds, we miss it already

Reminds me of a dried fruit and tobacco scent with some hay. Should get a better picture if placed on core body. Wondering if this was composed by Maxim?
