Symphonie de Néroli

I am just trying this perfume and It is a new great discovering. Symphonie de neroli is a very good neroli scent but very different to the typical neroli perfume. Usually neroli scents are fresh and bright... But this one is dirty and Dark! The opening is really surprising! When i waited a subtle and fresh scent... I found a very intense and dirty smell...dirty but nice!! I can get the smell of the oud, a fecal oud, with some manure smell in the back... But un front a very bright and intense neroli. The clementina is very noticeable atnthe opening as Well. Then the Jasmine and the vetiver grow Up giving to the mix a Green and creamy vine, mixed with the ambergris and the tolu balm. The dry down is sweet with the ambergris and the bright neroli becoming a very weareable scent, more like br540 than neroli portofino... This perfume is great for day and night, unisex and with a very good quality and performance, as most birtnikoffs! I have the old wooden cap version so not sure about the new ones, but this is a stunningly beautiful perfume. It's not as brash as some of his other creations, and manages to be strong but polite. The neroli and citrus in the top sing out from the skin, with a slight soapy aldehydic feel alongside, and within ten minutes the oud comes forward, a familiar oud if you know Bortnikoff's older creations (not the scratch you get these days) with resins and vetiver providing a warm, woody cushion. It's familiar territory but definitely one of his most accomplished, least heavy-handed creations. The balance feels like French perfumery.

One of the most beautiful openings I've ever felt. An unbelievable bright, emerald-green, juicy neroli backed up by lots of balsamic (non-dirty, probably thai or cambodi) oud. Along with the mineralic texture of frankincense, the tartness of labdanum and the old world feel of galbanum results in one of the greenest, most effervescent yet syrupy scents from Bortnikoff. I've never went through a sample and then ordered a bottle home so fast before, this is a truly special fragrance and a must-try for fans of neroli. Although if you're only after the soapy kind, you may be overwhelmed by this one.

The name matches really well with the scent... This is a very very beautiful and wearable fragrance, Olympe was totally right saying : "a contrast between darkness and light". Poetic uplifting perfume with some dirty florals in the opening and a mysterious woody background that gives it more character, and makes it darker. Leans more masculine to me, I enjoy wearing it with a white shirt, linen pants and mocassins in spring/summer afternoon and evenings, or for meditative purposes. Crowd pleaser, not very loud but Lasts long. Amazing Fragrance, try it if you can. 9.5/10 in my humble opinion.

A lovely pleasing Floriental centered around a juicy neroli flower note this is a happy sweet perfume. The perfume is designed as a floral chypre and opens with a burst of citrusy fruits before moving to the neroli heart. The neroli is surrounded by slight jasmine and vetiver. The perfume dries to a mossy woody base of oakmoss, cedar, tolu and peru balsam, ambergris and slight oud. The natural fresh neroli takes centerstage right from start to finish. This unisex perfume has moderate to strong sillage and projection and excellent longevity. A pleasurable experience. Enjoy!

This is one of my favorite fragrances ever. It has everything I love in a perfume. Neroli, ambergris, oud, etc. Deep, thick juice that roars off the skin and lasts all day. My 4th Bortnikoff so far, and top 3 houses for me. He could easily be charging Roja level prices but remains very reasonably priced. I hardly write reviews and I'm no expert but this one took me to another level. Maxaroma sells an 8ml to sample before buying full bottle.

Don't be fooled by the name, it's more than just a citrus scent. Neroli and other citrus essences open the scent that in a short time gets "dirty" in a rather strong way, with ambergris and light oud, always the company of neroli. It is a perfume that tastes like sex already done. much more intriguing than it appears. It's not an easy perfume for its dirty side, but very good for me. Midsummer election season towards autumn.

The opening is surprisingly syrupy with pleasantly persistent oud, not the citrus-green-floral I was expecting, but should've seen it coming with all the heavy base notes. The overall tone is fresh & joyous, especially when the neroli shines and the oud blossoms after the opening, held together by vetiver—This is more what I imagined Vetiver Nocturne to be and the "Neroli Oud" Au Pays de la Fleur d’Oranger could never be!

This is a crowd pleaser. Very exceptional ingredients and well blended.

It's a beautiful neroli fragrance. The opening starts with rich neroli and other supporting notes. However, the dry-down has a note which on my skin turns "moldy". Perhaps it is the ambergis, but I don't really know. It may turn out differently on other people's skin, but it makes it quite un-wearable for me.

I don’t know if it’s the vetiver or what but it straight up smells like sour pickles to me. At least in the first 5mins. Dry down is nice. Still not full bottle worthy. Glad I only have a 8ml decant.

Symphonie de Néroli by Bortnikoff —— not much neroli, but very Bortnikoff. MAIN NOTES : Orange, metal-dusty white flower, sweet oud-ambergris base SCENT DESCRIPTION : Two major players in the orange top: the slightly bitter orange peel , especially reminiscent of its white rind; soft clementine , smells almost edible. A little sharp sour neroli shows up for three seconds, then disappear like a ghost. Not a bad opening. But the thing is, it has a typical Bortnikoff top, typical Bortnikoff base, however no solid body in between. Or, the "body notes" is just a lazy transition from top to base. Before we dive into the base, a little metal-dusty-powder overtone (as in Sotto La Luna Tubereuse by Tauer) made a cameo, then we are met with the familiar Bortnikoff's trade mark base——a sweet smooth oud-ambergris mixture . I sometimes also caught whiffs of damp-chestnut-shell like resins; and probably an imaginary animalic mustiness. The weak metal-dust-powdery tuberouse(?) manage to team up with other flimsy floral tones (jasmine? ylang?), dancing at the edge of the scent but firmly bound by the Bortnikoff base. The sweet base lasts overnight, I can still detects a bit salty-waxy tail at last.

One of the stranger scents from Bortnikoff. I cannot wrap my head around this one. Most of the Bortnikoffs open with a dankness that lasts between 5-15 minutes, a feature of using almost exclusively natural ingrediënts. With time they open up and 'relax' into beautiful scents.This one takes longer then most, up to 30 minutes, to open up. Which is a problem because the first 30 minutes I resent. It smells like dank vegetables and bananapeel, like green waste on a hot day. Right after this experience you are greeted with a distinct horse manure note, which I believe comes not from the oud but from the Jasmine Sambac. This note never truly leaves.After this eventful opening it settles into a middle and base which is similar to that from Amber Cologne, albeit darker and stronger. This is the first scent from Bortnikoff that I despise, despite the fact that his other creations are among the best I have ever smelled. There is no genius without daring to take risks I guess. If you do enjoy this, or are on the fence about it, I suggest you try Amber Cologne first. It is also much cheaper.

My second Bortnikoff. This one starts out from first spray as a heavy flowery scent, neroli and jasmine is strong, mixed with the citrus. Thats all for a while, the floral notes overpowering much of the rest of this perfume for quite a long time. On me, it took roughly Ten minutes before i begun to smell a more woody scent, mixed in with oranges. After half an hour it punched out an animal muskyness, that ambergris rearing its head, you could tell this was real ambergris, as it had teeth!! It didnt last a very long time, i lost the scent after about 4 hours, and others said they could smell it on my skin, but no further by then. Its a touch expensive for the longevity, but i have to say, its very well made, and does smell like it is made with high quality ingredients.

sure this is the worst blind by I have ever purchased Is unbelievably awful. I love neroli and citrus and I'm always looking for an oud fragrance carries another scent all the way through like something sweet or something citrus to counterbalance the harshness of the oud. This is Not that. In fact I don't smell anything even remotely good in this at all. It smells like campho-phenique if you guys are old enough to remember back in the seventies that's what your mom used to put on your cuts. Why did I pay so much money for something this awful? I can't believe it. Apparently someone must like it so I listed mine for sale right away. I thought for a minute that maybe my taste is just not sophisticated but that's not it. This is truly awful.

Testing the newer version of Symphonie de nerolie. Although I can't confirm if anything has changed formulation wise, I can say that it's still one of the best the brand has to offer. There's the typical bortnikoff citrus top with a beautiful combination neroli and jasmine. There's a half gourmand nuance that you usually get from ylang ylang so I was surprised it wasn't part of the notes. The oud is noticeable but serves as an anchor more than anything else. I was also surprise that Tonka bean or vanilla wasn't listed.. there is a bit of chewy sweet quality as well. The perfume became a skin scent quite rapidly. I still applaud the perfumers blending skills but I'm craving for more risks.. more oud.. etc.. IG: eatandsmellgood

goodness me! this is one of the most photorealistic representations of clementine mandarine i've ever smelt. the bad news is that it's RUINED by a horrid moist vegetal stank in the foreground. this is a bit of a theme with several of this brand's scents, a soft, beautiful note juxtaposed against a stark, brutal note of some sort. it smells like a jampacked ashtray has been left out overnight and is now full of water. yuck. so close and yet so far...

Citrus neroli combo is what I get. Very nice, unique, pleasing, won't offend anyone. Moderate sillage and longevity. The natural ingredients are blended superbly. Day or night., any occasion, very versatile. Bravo for another superb creation by Dimitri.

A bright, joyful sweet indolic neroli scent that is highly concentrated yet preserves it's dewy natural freshness. As always, rbalkris review is spot on. Nothing else to say!

Don’t like this at all. I have the wooden cap one and never smelled the newer one.
