Contre Pouvoir

If you don't enjoy liquorice or cardamom, stay away, this perfume is not for you. If you do, however, Contre-Pouvoir is definitely worth checking out. This perfume is classy, confident, and silk-smooth, with a touch of arrogance that makes it all the more interesting. It is on the sweeter side, but it's never cloying, the cheekiness of cardamom and lime perfectly balancing out the liquorice. As it dries down, it turns into a warm, slightly spicy skin scent, highlighted by drier, fresher notes I can't really identify but that reminded me of clean laundry. It's complex and remains interesting as it evolves, and it also has amazing longevity. In my opinion it's perfectly unisex. I wholeheartedly recommend this perfume to anyone in search of something both different and chic.

I really enjoyed this fragrance. I know it was catered for men but I really liked it on me. Anyway, this is unique, memorable, fresh, day fragrance that's hard to describe and I would encourage you to try it. I smell bergamot, cardamom, vetiver, clover flower, little amber at the base. This one has really good quality and very well made!!! Also, I appreciate the fact that it's affordable. Good job Brecourt!

Beautiful fragrance, really well made (as all of the Brecourt perfumes - classy, elegant, one word - french). I consider Contre Pouvoirto be a unisex frag. My friend and I (we are both women) have this perfume and we love it. Interesting enough it does not smell similar on us. On my friend it turns into a sensual tabacco and on me rich and deep licorice. In either way it's gorgeous.

Hands down my fav perfume, all rounder. When you want to take only one perfume with you, thats the one. Fresh enough for summer and day, strong and niche enough for winter and night. Too bad recently the quality went down drastically- sillage and logevity nothing to compare with what it was ~10 yrs ago. Declaration is similar, but Brecourt is way more sophisticated and balanced.

St. Vincent (musician Anne Clark) has apparently found this in Amsterdam and enjoyed wearing it a lot, and I love it when women wear woody male scents.
