Azzurro di Capri – Eau de Parfum

Sorry for the long text but I truly had a wonderful experience with this fragrance: I had the pleasure of experiencing Azzurro di Capri during my holiday in Capri, and let me tell you, it was an unforgettable experience. I was lucky enough to visit the Bruno Acampora store in Napoli, and I was trying the EXTRAIT de Parfum version. From the moment I stepped inside, the customer service was impeccable. The store was all mine for the day, which allowed me to truly engage with the assistant on a personal level. She was incredibly knowledgeable about the brand, taking her time to walk me through the history of Acampora and helping me identify the notes I loved. When I mentioned I was visiting Capri, she immediately suggested Azzurro di Capri, and it was as if she read my mind, it was perfect!! The Scent Experience - Male Reviewer: The moment I smelled Azzurro di Capri, I was completely blown away. This fragrance opened up with an explosion of juicy, fresh citrus notes that made me feel like I was in an orchard, surrounded by ripe mandarins and bergamot. The citrus was crisp, mouthwatering, and vibrant, with the perfect balance of sweetness and tanginess. It felt like someone had taken fresh oranges and florals and rubbed them directly under my nose. As it developed on my skin, the fragrance evolved into something even more beautiful. The heart of the scent revealed a stunning blend, making it incredibly floral yet still fresh and radiant. The florals were balanced perfectly with the citrus, creating a harmonious and uplifting experience that felt light and luxurious at the same time. It’s a blend that’s so well-crafted, it’s impossible not to be mesmerized by it. Longevity and Quality Even though I don't really care about longevity much, I was genuinely astonished by how long this fragrance lasts. The Extrait version is incredibly potent! The oil quality is out of this world, and the fragrance lingered on my skin for hours and hours, developing beautifully over time. The perfume is rich and high-quality, with a natural, luxurious feel. The bottle itself is awesome too: heavy, magnetic cap, and simple, it feels just as premium as the scent inside. Every time I hold it, I’m reminded of the fantastic experience I had in the store. Final Thoughts Azzurro di Capri is, without a doubt, the ultimate summer fragrance. Its balance of citrus, florals, and subtle musk makes it versatile for any occasion. It’s bright and lively yet refined and sophisticated. After experiencing it, I genuinely felt like I didn’t need any other summer fragrances. This is a perfume that works every single time, and it never disappoints. The customer service was exceptional, by the end of my visit, I had bought four bottles (yes, four!!! 2 Azzurro di Capri Extraits and two other bottles) and even had dinner with the wonderful sales assistant who made this experience unforgettable. To sum it up: Azzurro di Capri (Extrait) is a masterpiece. 10/10, hands down, a perfect summer fragrance.

Opens with a fluffy, powdery citrus and it takes a few minutes for any florals to be noticeable. Once the white florals emerge, and throughout the development, I find that the florals and the citruses are rather evenly matched - maybe even leaning citrus dominant to my nose. The vibe is clean, bright, and soapy, even after the base musks and soft woods start to come forward. If you are afraid of patchouli (a listed note and one that I personally don't like), fear not, as it is not overtly detectable. The next morning I can still smell the musk in the very late drydown - reminiscent of Egyptian Goddess. While inhaling this scent, I close my eyes and think of walking down a narrow sunlit path on the side of a sea cliff, walled closely on both sides with flowering shrubs and vines. The sea is just out of sight below - you can hear it and feel the velvet humidity of its comforting presence, but it is at a remove. On the other side of the path, also out of sight, is an orange grove. The air is still and thick and you can hear the quiet waves lapping the rocky cliff base to one side, and the heavy droning of bees in the grove to the other side, and you stop walking and just feel your heart beating, the warm sun on your body, and the dense fragrant airs enveloping your skin. I am a huge jasmine head so I initially found the overall experience to be slightly unsatisfying, especially since reviews and the note votes here made me think that the jasmine or at least the florals generally would be more prominent. But, on a second wear I tried laying Acampora's Jasmin T EDP (which I love and have been wearing for years) underneath Azzurro di Capri and that combo was fantastic!

I am in love with this one. (Note: female reviewer) First full bottle I have ever purchased where I would have been willing to pay more for it. For me, it captures that feeling of stepping out onto the beach from the dunes if you havent been in a while. Yes, it has an unidentifiable tropical fruitiness to it, but that is only one piece of this and it comes and goes. There is also a light breeziness to it that comes from the white florals and a saltiness from the patchouli/amber, as well as a hint of the beach flora/fauna in the cedar/musk. This is a highly concentrated perfume oil, so DONT overdo it when applying. Less is more. This is one where you should spray the air and walk through the particles. If you apply it like an EDT or EDP, you will probably regret it, and that may explain the comments that call it cloying (it certainly is not cloying on me). This brings me so much joy. I cant stop smiling when I wear it. Update: based on my curiosity about the other reviews, I did reapply this as though it were an EDT...2 sprays makes it an overpowering version of itself, 3 sprays does bring out the fructose in a horribly cloying way. Again...with concentrated perfume oils, less is more.

Here, Bruno Acampora does white flowers, and the result is pleasantly limpid, with a jasmine accord not dissimilar to that which Patricia de Nicolai constructs, and a soapy orange blossom that reminds me of the Pré de Provence display at an apothecary shop. However, it begins to feel somewhat staid and it makes me just want to smell Bruno Acampora Musc, Iranzol, or Sballo and their rapturous and feral energy instead.

I was eager to try this because it sounded right up my scent profile alley – however, after wearing through the tester/sample size 4-5 days in a row, I came to find this was not as exciting as I had hoped. The jasmine here leans really soapy on my skin from start to finish, and this is a turnoff for me, esp. given the price of this in extrait form (which is what I used). While I do not consider $190 to be high for a niche fragrance, it is wasted money if it doesn’t tick all the boxes. It’s a linear white floral, and not entirely unique – I have a lot of white florals in my collection, and they have way more “oomph” than this one does. If this is a like for you, then you are lucky because it really does last (likely due to the oils) and is well made. But woosh, that soap! 4 hrs later I am still getting those wafts and its almost headache inducing. I think if you are a white floral fiend like me, into the meaty heavy hitters [Carnal Flower, Tauer's Tuberose, TF Jasmine Rouge], this will not cut it. Happy I didn't blind buy as planned.

A very Strange scent You get a cosmetic smell, similar to playdough and lipstick mixed together. It makes me think there is a aquatic aspect and then it smells floral. It has a underlining odd sweet note that keeps making an appearance too I don't know who this is for, but if you like odd stuff, try this one I don't hate it, but don't want to smell it I wish I could interview the perfumer over this one

There is a good review of this on YouTube by Sebastian, on Smelling great, reviews. I'm trying my lucky scent sample to see if it's worth $160/ ounce (30 ml). The opening surprise was how feminine and floral it is. It is an exquisite white floral, Jasmine, Lilly of the valley, and orange blossom, not Neroli. The florals are heady I think it's called. It's 90% high quality, natural white flowers. It has some nice complimenting nuances. There is a touch of fruity orange, that slightly brings it into gender neutral range. There is not much musk like in MFK Aqua Universalis Forte. I don't pick out any patchouli, and very slight amber. Because it is so natural smelling, and no girly parfumy notes added, I think a guy could pull it off, if you like natural white flowers smell. I don't think it's worth buying at the very high price. Because it's not unusual for a woman's white floral fragrance. You could find a very good Jasmine fragrance edp concentration, for 1/3 the price that would be allmost just as good. This is an extract with high concentration of oils, so it lasts and performs great. So it may be worth it for those who can afford it, for the great performance. PS: This is kind of older womanish white flowers. I recommend Creed Spring Flower. It is a great Jasmine with fruity notes. It is more modern and fun. $120/ 2.5 ounce on eBay. White flowers and citrus flowers, a denser Jo Malone Orange Blossom, which I wore for years in my 30's. It's a little cloying but in a pleasant way, in the similar way the glue-like smell is addicting on old paper in books. It's the smell of a strange lover you take for a season and whenever you notice this again anywhere, it takes you back to that slightly weird era of your life, summer school and a part time job, hanging out with a weird guy who has a lot of money and takes too many hallucinogenics. I wonder if Jeffrey Feder is still alive, in New Jersey.

This scent needs to be sampled. It has a very intense dose of white flowers and citrus notes, there is a sharp sweet note that keep coming but also some soapy clean musk, it feels a little bit too heavy and somehow it makes me feel almost overwhelmed. I don't perceive any harsh notes, just a very piercing mix of white florals, citrus and musk. I am on the fence. A sample is enough for now.
