Bruno Banani Man

Let's roll with the negatives first. It doesn't smell expensive. You can get pricey fragrances that smell cheap, but it's rare to get a cheap fragrance that smells expensive. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, it's just that all the ingredients in this seem muted. Second, it doesn't smell modern. OK it's from 2000 so it's already over 20 years old, but it smells more like it's from the 80's. That being said, both negatives out of the way, it's a cracking little cheapy. It's a very warm scent, amberish. You get a little bit of the coffee, lavender, tonka beans, vanilla, and a whole heap of warm spices. There's a lot of ingredients with an aniseed liquorice vibe but this isn't heavy. In fact I only really noticed it with deep sniffs on the drydown. It's quite a linear scent, so what you get after 5 minutes is what you'll have 8 hours later. This brings me to its main plus point, longevity. Noticeable up to 10 hours and only fades after 12. Sillage is slightly better than moderate with 4 sprays to the neck. I've found the best place to wear this is on the chest where your body heat can keep throwing out the scent. For it's price I'm very impressed with Bruno Banani Man.

A little pricey for what it is, but it's a goodie. It even got me a compliment at work (I work in an industrial environment, it definitely will stink up the office if you're atomizer-happy as it is a bit thick)! Would also do well on a date. Definitely something to wear during the day, won't have the same effect in the evening. As Mr. Banani said, "Not for everybody". Some will hate you for wearing this, not me tho - I'd love to see someone else wear it. Edit: THIS KEEPS GETTING ME COMPLIMENTS AT WORK. WHY?? Sure, I love this, and I love getting compliments, but this isn't that amazing on paper, or scent-wise. Maybe Man just fits me very well and people recognize that? I don't know if that's the case, but people at work really like when I do have it on.

Ok guys lets take a sun-cream (but in a german way) and mix with Tonka beans, star anise, basil and vanilla-coffee.. -Tadaaa we made it Bruno Banani for men :) It's warm, spicey,luxury and seductive scent. Smells like Tourists in the spice market imho timeless just you have to spray a little less at hot summer days Longevity 8/10 Silalge 7/10 Scent 7/10

Sadly REFORMULATED! It was way more powerful and complex in the 2000's. Nowadays it has only moderate sillage and longevity and less sweet than the old version.

Ahh heliotrope I love heliotrope, they did a good job on this one classic Floral (Oriental) like Joop Homme! gee that was a ladykiller that one made some record sells too and rightfully so. If you like your florals like me get this one especially if you like heliotrope its a good alternetive to Parfums De Marly Peagusus if you you wanna save some coin in other words. It performs the way it should moderate sillage with a longevity of about 6-8 hours. Don't listen to the comments below they don't know what there on about haha

It is quite curious with this one: I thought to smell bulgarian rose on various occations on my commuting way in the train only to notice later it was worn by a guy. So it couldn't be bulgarian rose I thought. Later I discovered my nephew wearing it and I had to know. I hesitated long to buy myself a bottle. It is a guilty pleasure, but I like to spray it on at times. But to be honest on me it smells more woody and more masculine than on men. On them it is still bulgarian rose to me...

I like this one a lot, this good light vanilla for 30$ ? It was my school scent in 2022, i really enjoy it, its kinda like whipped cream vanilla, wery smooth light fresh and airy, not heavy

This smells like dsqueared he wood, but in somewhat harsh kind of way. But still strong man frag. Reformulated. Used to be stronger with nicer drydown. Still hell of a cheapie

Smels like an vanilla coffee , perfekt for an cold Fall oder Winter.

Honestly reminds me of shoe polish. But that's not it. It has a vanilla/lavender/anise sweetness combination. It gives the scent a thickness. Not a very pleasant one IMO

Deospray: This is a mix between everything listed, with some notes that are more intensive than the others. I noticed the vanilla, anise and lavender when I first scented it in the air. On my skin: cloves and anise with a soft hint of vanilla & coffe. A little soapy too. It's really very different on my skin than in the air... Better in the air. When I looked at the notes and tried to find them (when I spray the fragrance in the air, again) I felt like I found all the other/listed notes but the ones I noticed at first were still the strongest, the second time i scented and tried it. I like it more after a while, when it isn't as strong. I think it has normal/good lasting but when it lasts, it's very soft and easy to "overpower" with other fragrances and scents. Because of the Soapyness, it could be used by women too but it's too masculine to not be noticed as a masculine fragrance... But blended with a womens fragrance, it could be used as a unisex supplement/addition. I don't like this so much, honstely, and compared to the other ones I've tried, this is definately not one of the best. It's still something I can stand scenting/smelling & not at all among the worst male fragrances I've experienced. What suits my taste the least is the clove scent but I guess you will like it if you enjoy the scent of cloves and all the other notes. I can't decide which season it fits the most/best but maybe winter, since cloves usually are (very) occuring at that season. But I'd say it's an all year around perfume. I imagine it being better when it's mixed with another fragrance/perfume. Maybe something that can bring out the vanilla in it and make that note more prominent, since it's got a very nice - and unfortuntaley quite weak -vanilla note to/in it.

Oh my goodness, if this is the first fragrance Bruno Banani brought to the market, it should have been recognised as a warning. This one smells so chemical it almost hurts. Considering it originates in the former GDR, one gets the impression that this one tries to make fun of that lacking sense for luxury that was - quite naturally, I'd say - present in the Eastern Bloc. At least it's cheap, but that doesn't make the joke any funnier. Avoid. *

Some need their noses checked, nothing whatsoever reminiscent of YSL. What it does smell like is shoe polish and chemical solvents. I was curious and immediately regretted the purchase (was cheap though) and after 1 spray threw it in the bin.

Many dislikes here and i have the same with it. Put it on 2 times both gave me a not nice feeling with it not comfortable. Used to put it on the toilet for other people to spray but not many liked it either.

I sprayed 20mL on & got weak sillage. Don't like the smell. It's kinda barbershop-ish. Got it on sale, but still expensive though.

I am so glad it is not for everyone.

Smells just like fly/bug spray 😩

This is a controversial scent in my books. It's cheap but doesn't smell typical, it's clearly recognizeable. It's a strong scent, and over-spraying it will make it extremely cloying. There's nothing natural or calm and soft about this smell, it's a bold and "in-your-face" fragrance that yells for .... Something, but what? I guess that's the controversial part. Personally, this is probably one of the only scents I've received any feedback on, and all of them were positive ;o All from women. Who would have thought? The thing that bugs me is, strangers avoid me and usually turn away when I gaze at them, alot of people clearly and visibly feel uneasy when I'm present. Alot of the people I know call me "scary" and "bad" and just overall keep telling me how scary I am. So I'm thinking, maybe this scent is like a cheap version of Kouros or Habit Rouge, something that you absolutely have to have the personality / overall appearance for. It's a cheap scent and I think it should be OK for casual occasions, for a guy who doesn't take "no" for an answer and who's never satisfied for less than everything.. :P Still, my advice is that you wear something else for a date or a special occasion.

Funny thing: I am new around here and my first review regards a fragrance for men. I discovered this EDT today while loooking for a new scent for my husband. I smelled the cap at first, then sprayed once on my wrist and I was amazed: strong at first, then it became a skin scent, spicey and dry, lightly sweet. I notice at the beginning lavender and basil then turns into a gorgeous incense plus cedar wood smell, in the end remains a fine trace of raisins with cloves aroma. I think I smell for the first half an hour rather kokoa than coffee, vanilla is almost unnoticeable to me. On my skin doesn't seem to last long but on a man's skin it could turn better. It is though a beautiful scent, rather cheap, but still unusual thus "not for everyone". Quite sincerely speaking, I would say it could be easily a unisex fragrance. I am fascinated and intrigued to read such different opinions about scents. But yet, someone's skin is just like a fingerprint - unique, and so is one's perception.

I used to love this fragrance, I would probably still love it but I used this during harsh period of life, so every time I smell it - I love the scent, but the memories it brings makes me feel so upset and poor (in every possible way), so the next moment I hate it. But I would say this is the best in this price range, excellent for teenagers like I was when I wore it.

This scent is very much like La Nuit de l'Homme by Yves Saint Laurent - a sweet gourmand like fragrance. IMO Bruno Banani Man(BBM) has better longevity and sillage. If you want that - then go buy BBM - it is also cheaper.

Perfect warm strong fresh fragrance. sweet tonca beens, anise, coffe, vanile, basile notes create unic light but long lasting elegant chords ....love it💓

I bought this for my boyfriend and we both love it. It's warm, bold and not sporty in any way.
